Suggestion and Update Thread

Things I learned about the forums today:
- Don't joke about suicide because that's mean :(
- We use "Trigger" unironically.

I've heard suicide and emo jokes most of my internet life. They made me afraid to have any depressive thoughts at all because I thought I was going to get laughed off the Internet for saying stuff like that. I know that others must feel the same way. Yeah, I know I'm on a Lolcow forum, but I thought this was a bit much.

I've seen a lot of people complain that it's impossible to talk about anything else when there's a Jace or Golden Knight livestream going on, and I have noticed that there's been a second tab added to chat. Something I've thought of is there being two separate tabs for Jace streams and Golden Knight streams respectively that open when either of them are streaming. The Jace stream tab also includes Tyce streams or anybody else from Deagle Nation livestreaming.

^The only way something like that could remotely come to fruition is if the overflow chat is frequently used, which it currently isn't at this time. Most people are still sticking to the regular tab (unless someone who's here more than I am can correct me on this). This may change with time but I won't hold my breath.

Plus, the last stream from parkourdude was in the early morning, time when people are either sleeping, busy with whatever, etc. Something like that would have to be factored in the creation of said tabs.

After a personal revelation, I have decided to lift the wordfilter on "Chris-chan" and "Chris chan." Most of you know my reason - I feel that it's a shibboleth for someone who only knows about Chris via a source from ED or 4chan. However I feel our community has grown to a point where we don't feel the need to refer to Chris as "Chris-chan" so I think we can move on.

I never understood the wordfilter. I still don't. I think Chris-chan as a name is kind of gay but it doesn't really bother me.

Well Chris is kind of gay so it fits.

Just buy him a Classic shirt and medallion and ask him to leave his webcam on for a bit. Should be close enough to Chris that nobody will notice the difference.

I wonder if Moore would criticize Chris for being a fat slob and narrow-minded.

WARNING: NOT SERIOUS

What we should have is the ability to rate ratings. Like if you like that someone else liked someone's post, you can like that. Then, someone else can like that you liked that someone liked their post and so on.

Proposal for consideration: thread hiding.

Is it possible to have a forum mechanic where users can tag and hide/show threads? I think it'd be useful to:

1) tidy up and streamline the Lolcow board especially, to keep new content from being shuffled to the back pages too quickly

2) allow those of us who are thoroughly tired of the whole #gamergator clusterfuck the ability to filter out said clusterfuck

Is such a mechanic feasible, or even possible? I admit that I don't know shit from Shinola about forum software coding. I slept through Computer Science III.

XenForo doesn't offer that, though I do agree that the Lolcow board is too busy these days. I need to think of a better way to organize its content.
