Making good money tonight. Over 50 (closer to 60 i imagine) in tips already.

With cheers and subs, that's a whopping $100 or so tonight. That's not even what he normally gets in a day. If he's actually going to struggle to make ends meet, this ain't much more than a drop in the bucket.

I am watching Tevin's stream, because why not, and he said that he just got a new sound mixer or something.

When is the last time DSP got new streaming equipment? Isn't that, the one expense outside actual video games that DSP should be investing in? Has he upgraded his equipment at all since he actually went to actual video capture?

As far as I understand, Phil does not think the stream needs to be upgraded or improved. He believes this is "high quality content". He also doesn't watch other streamers to gather ideas about how to improve his own stream.
There are dozens of things he can do (most of them even free) to improve the viewers' experience but Dave doesn't think that's necessary.

His experience is all that matters. Also, Dave is not the kind of person who would want to learn something new.
Even if you've seen his 'office' layout, you can see what a disgusting mess it is. To the point where it's almost impossible to upgrade or switch something without fucking up the whole layout.

It's a horrible layout, full of dust and all kinds of shit, his TV is about 3-4m from where he's sitting.

After all, all that matters to him is how HE feels and what HIS experience on stream is. Fans are an afterthought until he needs money.

Tevin actually built a new pc for streaming a couple of weeks ago. He did it on stream and had people help him. Attendance was surprisingly high. I don't even know what the last thing was Phil bought for his stream. I know he was raising funds for the 4k tv, but that doesn't benefit the stream at all. PS4 pro? Nope doesn't help. Two headsets? Nope. A new girlfriend? Well that remains to be seen.

The jealousy is massively strong right now because JB seems like a guy you would want to have a beer with and hangout with, and his streams and videos will be fun and interesting to watch given the personality on the other side of the screen, unlike the hermit of the Gout Palace. Oh, you're not wrong that he gets waaaay too much (and moreso now that he got a $100 tip from acebest), but a good general marker is that he tends to make, on an average day, about $150-$200 total between subs, cheers, and tips. So that's a good benchmark for where he's at.
