I always have considered neo-Nazis pathetic idiots because they embraced an absolute failure that left the country it took over in smoking ruins, with most of its cities little more than rubble filled craters, but at least they actually took over a country and much of Europe first.

Let's just hope that the current antifa doesn't get so out of hand to the point where we end up seeing history repeat itself via/a Fourth Reich. The only thing that stopped the Nazis in WW2 was ironic enough, Hitler's own recklessness due to his over-inflated ego, and failure to listen to his own generals who kinda knew what they were doing, more so than Hitler. If a new fascist/far-right/neo-nazi dictator were to ever take over in the future ( perhaps), they might not be quite as stupidly impulsive and stubborn as Hitler was.

Antifa/Black Bloc being "a tactic, not an organization" is actually an accurate claim on the part of leftists who say it. Left wing activists part of semi-mainstream organizations like the DSA put on masks and smash a few Starbucks or go punch some nazis. Just read some individual DSA Twitters and you'll see they talk exactly the same as antifa accounts. They are not as good as covering their tracks as they pretend to be, its just that nobody on the right other than randos on /pol/ are putting in much effort to unmask them.
