I think Phil got the money. Like other people have said I can't see Paypal or whoever refunding Tut after gifting all those subs. It wasn't like he meant to tip a $1 and tipped $100 on accident. Phil's narrative now is that even though he got the money Tut was ACKtually really bad for him. He was disrupting streams, calling attention to himself, and preventing other people from donating(?) because they were jealous they weren't donating as much as him. Google says it depends on the reason. If he resigned because he thought the job sucked or he got a better one, then he wouldn't qualify. But if he lost his job because he was accused of trying to poison and possibly murder someone and was given the option of being fired or resigning and he resigns just to get out of there then that's not on him. Especially when he's singled out as a suspect, interrogated, and the story even made the news.

Whenever Floyd Mayweather's last big fight was getting hyped up, some advocacy group appeared and denounced him for his instances of violence against women. At any point this group could have been harping on this. They chose to remain silent until this person had gathered enough public interest for their shaming to carry weight.

What I take from this is that advocacy groups realize they can't keep harping on the same thing for years. The celebrity isn't largest enough for this defamation to entice a mob, the public will quickly get bored of the same old allegations, and it's just too expensive. Phil is a nobody. I think it's just that no advocacy group is going to stoop low enough to be rid of such an insignificant figure.

That is further proven with the fact he is ignorant regarding taxes, as most accounting programs require you to take at least a basic tax course. In one of his many tax rants, he went on about the "extra 15%" he had to pay in taxes (self-employment taxes), which is basically the governments way of getting FICA / Medicare taxes from business owners. When you are employed by some company, 7.5% is taken from your paycheck for this, and company pays the other 7.5%. Someone self-employed has to pay both parts (employee/employer portions), but they also get tax deduction for the employer part as business expense. He fails to mention that when he cries about it, that he does see some offset for that.

Phil is both an ignoramus, and a conman. "extra 15%", "raised interests rates 4 times", "I tried rescheduling the dates my bills come due, but it doesn't come into effect for another 2 months" are big, frightening numbers thrown at those he's shaking down for cash. It's hard to know how much is stupidity, and how much is fabricated for his naive audience.

He just doesn't matter. He isn't popular, and while i'm sure many will disagree in the grand scheme of things he hasn't done anything terrible enough for people outside of his bubble to care. If Kat was showing up for streams with black eyes Phil claimed they were from door handles or falling down the stairs that's worthy of attention. As far as his sob stories and finances even if people had 100%, caught red handed proof he has been lying for years that's not illegal just scummy.

I don't know the story. From what I've read here, the girlfriend of "mrdeadmoth" wasn't "showing up for streams with black eyes", and him making cover-stories. It was an actual beating streamed live on Twitch, "100%, caught red handed". And he returned to Twitch after a month (this is prime advocacy group fuel. I wonder, would Twitch have punished "mrdeadmoth" more harshly if he had said "nigger" or "faggot" as he assaulted this person.) It was something terrible enough for Twitch to care, and it still didn't matter. Anything Phil can muster will doubtfully be as horrifying as violently attacking someone.

Maybe it just doesn't matter anymore. Antisemitism seems to run strong in these diversity leftist groups todays (e.g. google "Womens March antisemitism"), so maybe they just don't care as long it is not a real person "they" could nazi punch. One of his other racist bullshit sallies was targetting Asians, who, for reasons unknown to me, don't seem to be deemed triggerworthy by sjws. This is it entirely, he's absolutely not worth going after. He's already a literal punchline to the Twitch community as a whole. Known for one thing only and he has a tiny community.
