My mother is planning on calling and talking with the Rainbow people...to swing a deal of billing us later.

While it's somewhere between the orbits of "A-log" and "Schadenfreude" but, what I wouldn't give to have someone at Rainbow say "$1,600 NO HAGGLE".

Just to add another crazy angle to this already crazy story, does Barb still think any of that shit is worth money? It's already clear with the cars that somehow price "inflates" over the years for her, but furniture and shit from goodwill that probably violates health codes?

I dearly want to believe even she is sane enough to believe that, but unfortunately I actually have experience with somebody who did something like that. Husband of one of my mom's co-workers had lost his job and he got really depressed about it, so somehow he ended up buying three old office chairs in the belief they'd be a valuable investment, among other hoarded things. These chairs were not in good condition, but even when the rest of his hoarded stuff somehow got sold off when he was getting out of his hoarding funk, those three chairs were still pretty precious to him for who knows what reasons, and if he wasn't going to get his money back in full, he wanted to make sure they went to somebody who would "appreciate" (read: use on a regular basis) them.

At this point it should be obvious why I know so much about these chairs. And they are admittedly quite useful since I'm using one as I type this.

But that's the closest thing I have as a frame of reference for what the hell Barb thinks is going on with her pile of burnt shit. It's not salvagable like a trio of old chairs with a few years of dust in 'em, they aren't even worth the cost of material that remains. Garbage is the only destiny any of it has, the question is who will be the one to toss it all in the garbage bin.

FWIW, 25 years ago, much more reputable people than than the Chandlers asked if they could store some furniture in my attic. Temporarily.

That shit's still there.

Well, if you ever have family or friends who need furniture, looks like you got some spares!

Perhaps they would do better in, I dunno, looking through everything in storage and maybe selling repeat/useless items they've accumulated over the years. It would give them less to haul/store and maybe even put a bit of money in their pockets if they really decide they want to sell rather than donate.
1000$ NO HAGGLE

It can't be. 1600USD is what I pay for the rental of a 2 bedroom apartment in the world's most expensive city. There is no way a storage unit in Ruckersville VA costs so much. Either Chris is exaggerating again or Barb has actually leased a second home to use as a garbage fortress.

$1600 is more than a month's storage, even for da hoard. It's most likely that Barb gave Chris a figure for upcoming bills, added a little extra for herself, and told Chris to go ask the rubes on the internet for the money. Expect a facebook post in a few days.

Brother, Barb has enough horde to open 4 Goodwill stores

Leaked pic of the storage unit Barb is renting for $1600 a month. You saw it here first folks!

Similar here. Low cost of living state + low income neighborhood = 4 bedroom (though 3 of them fairly small) house for half of what Chris is claiming they are paying a month in storage. So ether Chris misunderstood what Barb said or she is trying to pull a scam on his "fans".

Here's the thing: I would think maybe we're getting the back rent figures for a full year (which would work out to $133.33/month—a much more realistic figure)... except if they were that far in arrears on their storage, they surely would have auctioned the contents of the unit by now.

So I'm thinking there's more to the story. Like maybe we're talking about a month's storage and another month's rent at the rental house plus utilities.

What you do is sell it or give it away, and if they ever ask for it, be like "That stuff? You picked that up years ago! Don't you remember?"

More like four landfills. The Barbage isn't even Goodwill tier crap. It was crap that should of been thrown away a decade ago, even before the fire.

The rental house is probably $1200 to $1400 a month, based on the prices for similar nearby rentals.
