Star Trek - Space: The Final Frontier

Actually, the first black female captain was in Star Trek 4, after that there was Captain Tryla Scott in Conspiracy. Also, the supernova destroying Romulus is the most recent canonical event in the prime timeline, only connected to the recent movies by Nero and Spock getting pulled into that universe.

Discovery still sucks ass.
AH. I remember now why I mixed that up. The actress that played that captain is the same actress who went on to play Geordi's mom. So i was right from a certain point of view. ;)

Thx for the correction.

I didn't notice it was the same actor. Guess we both learned something new today. I'm rewatching TNG and acting like Discovery doesn't exist. Up until your post I forgot La Forge's mom was a captain. I'm not on the episode Interface yet. Descent has a ridiculous command decision by Picard. He leaves a skeleton crew aboard the Enterprise so they can find Data. While Data is important, Picard never used huge search parties in similar situations before that.

One more thing to add about how the show ended up treating Lorca. @Miller mentioned the very thinly veiled Orange Man references and just the whole thing about him AKSHULLY being from the Mirror Universe. But there were also fairly disturbing references to MU Lorca grooming MU Michael from a young age. I can't be arsed checking what he specifically said, but he made it very obvious he'd been attracted to her since he was young and was training her to be more or less his. Just another way of making him seem even more monsterous next to Georgiou (mind you, the latter casually eats a member of Saru's species in front of both him and Michael and somehow the showrunners think that makes her more relatable and YASS KWEEN than Lorca. I don't know what to say to that).

I remember hearing about that but i haven't seen solid evidence or the bit in question. But yep, even granting that, Lorca's "crime" is a single line while Georgiou does stuff on screen.

Listen and believe is making some shit stories.

Seriously. I've never understood why people don't recognize how hot Beverly is.

Shes rather conservatively dressed compared to Troi who in the beginning looks like she's walked off the set of Killer Workout. But as we age into men of culture and class, Crusher's beauty become more apparent.

I'm also just pissed that they talk all about how this is like some new advancement for black females on the show, when nobody points out that the first female captain we ever saw on screen was Geordi's mom! (who is black

I don't know who came first, but I swore Star Trek IV begins with a black female captain as well encountering the whale probe.

Edit: Yeah, USS Saratoga: http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/USS_Saratoga_(NCC-1887)_personnel#Captain_001

Of course while I prefer the far hotter 7 o 9 (before they removed her superior robot parts) or Borg queen, of those JUST on TNG Crusher was crush-worthy.

Sorry, but no... Beverly Crusher is the first example of a MINLF I can think of. (Troi isn't much better, seeing as how obviously incompetent she is )

In the spirit of not thinking random trek females are attractive, let's list all of our *least* attractive "main character" trek females- Here's mine:

Wait a minute you guy are serious? I guess I need to watch to get an opinion before I can say anything on this subject.

So what do you expect women's in this show will do wrong and get away with like in season 1?
