I'm pretty sure there's more effective ways to raise awareness of minorities in STEM fields than wasting your time solo-authoring hundreds of biography articles on an online encyclopedia meant to be contributed to by multiple people at a time. The internet has made the bar for "groundbreaking activism uwu" so fucking low jfc.

Less so for Spaniards as far as I've seen, but historically Italians (particularly southern ones) and Greeks have had a hard time being accepted into the "white" demographic/culture, since they can get pretty dark skinned. The Irish had issues with this too, but tumblr loves to completely ignore the oppression and discrimination of the Irish and other Celtic peoples' because their skin ain't dark, and skintone is the only thing that matters to them.

But in reference to the original issue, what a surprise that a school located in the western hemisphere teaches the western art traditions. If you went to a Japanese school, I'm sure the art classes there would teach Japanese traditions. There's no ban on you looking for and learning how to learn other artistic types if you don't like the one you've got at hand. But that requires effort.

Your average tumblrite is a mix of random European ethnicities and is from a bland suburb where so is everyone else, and consequently is incapable of dealing with the idea that there was a time in American history (and still is in Europe obviously) where there were real differences between different European ethnicities. I think the Irish part is the most hard for them to get because Irish people and English people look pretty much the same, but culturally they're not, and the concept of fresh-off-the-boat white people isn't something bland suburbanites are familiar with.

On the contrary, I've seen people on tumblr try to get Irish classified as "POC" because they can't deal with the fact that white people can in fact be discriminated against. I also had a classmate who was like 2nd gen Italian and she was super dark, I actually thought she was mixed race. Except her full-blood brother looks like the standard white Italian.

Kriss Donald was a fifteen-year-old boy who was attacked, kidnapped, driven around Glasgow for hours, tortured and eventually killed by a gang of Pakistanis.
