Patrick Lake / Dogpatch Press / Patch O' Furr / Patch Packrat - Furry journalist who got jerked off in public. Currently being sued.

dogpatch didn't pay most of his contributors https://twitter.com/Indigobang1/status/1084564613147049985 / http://archive.fo/G5b9M

Now that his reputation is on shaky ground we may finally get more on it if there is anything to have, but the photo itself is very old news.
The break it may need is that new people are digging and posting it and asking questions, like in the thread I linked. they're asking questions openly to tumblr and they've gotten a lot of attention with dp shitting the bed. if I can I wanna keep documenting these people who have climbed up on dp's corpse because i think chances are good that they will either be the ones to produce new info on dp or they will quickly become lolcows in his absence. possibly both, I don't know them at all.

Patch has said a few times that Growly had served his time and should be allowed to be left alone but ignores Yiffyleaks and AIM screenshots
I think I remember seeing him saying something about this, but with molesters in general and not specifically growly.

it's such a bizarre take. like yeah they did their prison time and were punished, that doesn't mean they're automatically safe to be around children.

I'm not shocked at all by that, judging by how Dogpatch loved to talk about make the about page about himself and mostly himself, with even the other "core contributors" being pushed aside.

There will definitely be more people coming out in the next few days since Dogpatch's reputation is now in tatters. He had some clout with the fact he was promoting blocklists and blacklisting people from the fandom to the point of even telling group owners to blacklist people but now that the people who pushed for that are against him there's little to fear.

If he said, that why not archive it and bring it here?
Growly was mentioned by name in the RC Fox article he did along with the #SaveOurSisk saga (mentioned in the OP in the linked thread).

There can be another side to these issues as well, with a case of alleged injustice related to a minor impersonating an adult in the @SaveOurSisk story.

The Growly story is a rare case of someone back in fandom and raising concerns over a decade later. He put out a statement after finishing parole in 2007 about pleading No Contest to one charge of sending a nude pic. Contrary to rumor, that isn’t a guilty plea or a finding of worse. Perhaps the older person involved (who has since died) was more responsible and the court found the one charge to be low level since they don’t go easy on that stuff. The claim about chatting a 16 year old may seem shady but the facts are debatable, trolling happens, a real person hasn’t complained and I’m not a lawyer. About volunteering for events, 10 years after finishing parole, the issue isn’t hidden and he’s being treated as a person who did the time and is wanting to make amends under watch of organizers. There are myths about reoffending when it can be less likely than with other crimes. Part of the issue is how understaffed cons rely on those who step up, so if you go to cons, they’re serving your demand. One way to mitigate concerns is to encourage more people to volunteer so they can be more selective.

yeah, i totally agree

I think it's shitty that Indigobang is being left in the dark here, but come on. We're talking ten dollars here.

edit: If this dude is clamoring over not getting paid for her departure article then that's stupid. Also she'd be owed five bucks and not ten because she crossposted it onto her own website meaning as per her agreement with Dogpatch it's not exclusive.

No, it's past stuff she wrote for him I think. And even though it's a petty thing it's about the principle... with dogpatch always wanting to be the most ethical one with the highest moral ground it's just extra rich that he wouldn't even pay such a small amount.

Oh. Given that in Indigobang's post she mentions "article" singular I assumed she was referring to either her departure article or the one she wrote prior to that. Either way I was just being an ass about it.

I can understand being upset on the principle of the matter, but if the other posts in this thread are to be believed Indigobang's expectations with Dogpatch were not the norm as Dogpatch apparently did not pay anyone else who contributed to the website. That of course just loops back around to what you were saying though about him taking the higher moral ground but just getting free content out of others.

Yeah, whatever deal dogpatch did or did not have with indigobang we can infer that he took advantage of her and other writers because he was afraid of competition and was interested in keeping profits for himself.

I don't think they had any kind of formal contract. I hope she learns that she needs to get things in writing if she's gonna make deals like that in the future.

Anuvia said in a thread I archived earlier that she was compiling evidence from other dogpatch contributors about lack of payment and I look forward to that.

Checked Twitter this morning while getting ready for the day. Seems that Indigobang posted a timeline of events last night regarding her involvement with Dogpatch Press:

I stopped keeping up with Dogpatch's website long ago, but I assumed this person had to have been a regular contributor or something. Given the ruckus being made you'd think this was a major partnership that was splitting up. They "worked" for Dogpatch Press for less than one week, and by her own words her project has only been going on for "less than two weeks". When you subtract the 3 days it's been since Indigobang's departure she apparently was involved with the site for between three and four days.

I guess that's just indicative of both the characters of the people involved and the kinds of mentalities that get drawn into Dogpatch Press and its atmosphere. Something about stupid games and stupid prizes.

I also went and looked up what the other former guest poster had to say on the matter, if anything. Says he was approached by someone for comment, but isn't interested in speaking about Dogpatch and wants to stay out of it completely. I also noticed that these tweets were already archived when I went to do so, but I didn't see them posted in the last couple pages here.

A quick look at Wikifur tells us Dracokon was a Herpy admin. Most likely ok with zoo seeing as IRL pics of animals were ok on there under the "education" lie

Wikifur seemingly has a habit of whitewashing and portraying neutrally even biggest perverts, look at well known rapist and pedo articles (say e_sibe for instance) and you'll see there's way less mentioned than people deserve to know about them. I'm sure there's more to herpy site and it's admins than autistically sticking up to real footage.
Looks like Mangcho was right after all lel
I'm pretty sure everyone has forgotten him by now. Could you make your shilling any more blatant?

I could. But seeing as how quick you are to dismiss him and what he said, he's clearly in your head already.

Or maybe some people dunno who it is and it doesn't help that your own post from Sept doesn't have the image. At least the people who replied to you did something to give a better idea of who the fuck you're talking about.
