The Marquis De Sade is still reigning champion of this domain. The fat bisexual deviant spoke of the truth of this world (that's still relevant to this day) with biting satire that's still unmatched.
The most crucial book by Sade is not in fact The 120 Days of Sodom. It should be checked out no question but I feel that his Philosophy in the Bedroom is the definitive rumination on his philosophy. Justine or the Misfortunes of Virtue is maybe his 2nd best book but the 120 Days of Sodom is no slouch when it comes to shock value.
I would also recommend The Eyes:

A work written sometime in the late 90's that recounts cannibalism, genocide, pedophilia, and creates a new language that represents ultra violence.
