How are Lola and Claire the faces of medical cannbis? Gwen states right there that Kansas doesn’t allow its medical use so how have the potatoes used it to become poster kids for it?
Like Gwennie is going to let a little thing like the truth get in the way of one of the taters getting three seconds of fame on some nightly news segment.

And, BTW, I think that was just Lola in the picture. If Claire was also featured, I don't think we saw her in the news.

And, how is she totally cool with cannabis when she couldn't be fucked to even get her kids adequate medical treatment or therapy? Sure, Gwen. Sure, girl.

I think Gwen is in a more psychologically precarious position than Jahi's mother. Claire is gone. Lola is not long for this world. Cal graduated and is of age. When Lola goes, Gwen isn't going to have anyone left to be. Empty nest syndrome, only more intense, because the girls were basically babies the whole time. It's not like there was a gradual adjustment, where the kids all got more independent and then launched. Just 20ish years of being a mom to babies/toddlers, then poof.

CBD has been legal there since June. Alternately, she might have broken the law, although nobody sensible would care much about that, at least compared to other more heinous shit she does.

Cannibis is just quackery at this point. Maybe that will change but saying it’s an accepted treatment is wrong. Used, sure. Not by doctors.

Great point about Gwen. Being an empty nester seems to be a difficult require adjustment especially for non-working women. Add in the fact that they never get that feeling of at least finishing their job and seeing their kids go on to in career and family and you have the makings of insanity. (We know Cal doesn’t count.).

It’ll be interesting what form of insanity it takes when Lola joins her sister.

In places where a prescription is required and only CBD is available, it certainly is prescribed by doctors.
Having spoken to people in the know, it’s mostly just used as a legal way for people to get pot. Not saying that it hadn’t helped people, but a lot of doctors will hand you a prescription if you want it because they’re pro legalization and don’t care if their patient is smoking pot.

I don’t even know if Claire had enough brain capacity for cannabis to be an effective treatment for her seizures. I would be extremely surprised if an actual, non homeopathy doctor prescribed it, rather than Gwen asking for it.

Not quite. There is a good reason why drugs such as Marinol exist.
Good point, I’d forgotten about Marinol. Rarely prescribed though.

I’m so used to people pushing cannibis and CBD oil for cancer which is insane. Especially knowing that it’s been illegal to be used in trials, I get tired of hearing about cures.

I’d forgotten that marinol had existed. It isn’t exactly a whole plant medication and came about in the 1980s for AIDS patients. Nothing else has been out since then, and there are better drugs for nausea (Zofran) and cachexia. (A new one in trials.)

I’ve seen somebody on Marinol and it wasn’t a pretty site, since the person had never even smoked weed. But it also didn’t work and the person was cachecic, and like I said, wasn’t the whole drug. So who knows.

I’m sure better drugs will come from weed testing once the feds relax but until then, nobody can really say anything works. It’s anecdotal.

But of course, that exactly the kind of thing Gwen wants. Hey, I can send her a whole bottle of CBD oil if she wants, km sure her kid will grow a brain and an appetite and won’t mind the taste a bit.

Only nutcases push it directly for cancer. It is legitimately used for anti-nausea after chemo, though.

Cannabis works very well for certain types of seizures, and as pain control. Medical cannabis, I mean, not just OTC CBD.

Yep. Some varieties are specifically bred for it like Charlottes Web which is the has the CBD content out of all cannabis varieties and almost no THC. Here is the story of the girl that variety was named after:

https://www-m.cnn.com/2013/08/07/he...arijuana/index.html?r=https://www.google.com/

Not a potato like the goblins, but the girl had really bad seizures and the parents heard of CBD/medical cannabis and contacted the growers. I think the story was the growers bred this plant and didn't know what to do with it, but once they saw it worked on the girl and her seizures now their strain is on lockdown. They have their own brand of CBD tinctures and supplements which are pretty expensive and you won't find their strain anywhere else.

KF is not my blog. But I've seen Marinol around with mixed results. It's supposed to stimulate appetite in people with cancer/Aids/wasting diseases etc to help with weight gain. One guy told me apparently his Marinol worked better for his pain than the Percocet he was prescribed, I'm inclined to believe it.

If Gwen wants to try prescription strength CBD or something on her potato at worst it will do nothing.

Marinol is pure THC in a sesame oil suspension. I knew a guy who was prescribed it for nausea and wasting during chemo. He took one pill and ended up staring wildly around in what was apparently pure existential terror, ending up having to be talked down from some kind of upsetting trip. This is only noteworthy because he'd been a cannabis legalization activist since the eighties and smoked lots of weed, all the time, not limited to his own.

But since we're talking about the remaining potato, it can't possibly make anything any worse.
