Kamala Harris to run for president in 2020

(CNN)Kamala Harris announced Monday that she is running for president in 2020, arguing that the time has come to fight against what she views as the injustices of the past two years of the Trump presidency.

In a brief video from her campaign that was released on social media Monday morning at the same time she appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America," Harris called on her supporters to join with her to "claim our future."
"Justice. Decency. Equality. Freedom. Democracy. These aren't just words. They're the values we as Americans cherish. And they're all on the line now," Harris said in the video, teasing her official kickoff in her birthplace of Oakland next Sunday...

This. To beat Trump, the democrat party needs get someone as republican as possible to pull in those on the fence. The democrat voters absolutely abhors Trump and would vote for anyone as long as they're not him.

Ya know between Blaxploitation Hillary, Fauxcahontas, and RedPilled Ranjeeta I am really lookin forward to the dem primaries.

My only regret is that the maximum immediate chuckles will be gained if Tulsi Gabbard wins the primary given both her "literal supernazi" status and her demographic highscore, but this will translate to less amusement come election time than if Harris or Warren* win.

maybe she takes a hard anti muslim stand. Guncontroll can be a positive issue for the dems if they do it right.
Not many people will vote for a person because he wants to let insane people have guns.

Not necessarily, the problem is they've picked up some really unpopular ideas and their solution has been to double down on them and make them central to their platform. A lot of Trump's success has come from him picking up some of the liberal ideas that the Democrats used to champion before their blind rush to coastal progressivism. Trying to become discount Republicans is probably a bad idea.

My point is that gun control is a losing position because it's supporters don't really care that much but it's opponents, including plenty of swing voters and even dyed-in-the-wool Democrats, won't support someone that's going to "take their guns".

They have picked ideas that get them absolute fawning praise within the sheltered dem strongholds and media bubbles yet which are at best utterly disregarded and at worst utterly despised by just about everyone outside these strongholds including among democrat voters and centrist fencesitters

The only way forward I can really see is if they drop all this shit fast and focus entirely upon the basics economy/services/crime while openly disavowing the worst fringes of left wing batshittery so that Trump will find it less easy to pull the "look at these crazy fucktards on your team!" card, and for the love of jesus stop trying to make defending illegal immigration their flagship issue when literally every fucking demographic is opposed to it.
