Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

Can anyone fill me in on this alleged falling out between Arin and Chris? As far as I know they always got along really well and Chris was even living with him.

I'll have to admit, i enjoyed their Guts & Glory (But they could skip all the "dad?" jokes, that turned pretty fricking grating) and when they duke it out on Monopoly. But i am starting aswell to feel jaded towards the Grumps. Give Dan some great retrogames to play and i'mn in (Like the Kemco point and click games for NES for example)... and also, why the fuck did they only do one episode of Willow? That game is gold!
They probably quit Willow because it was too slow going for the channel. (They quit other RPGs)

Another one I'd like them to back to is Deadly Creatures. That was interesting. And I forget which game it was, but there also was a prison game with supernatural elements.

Just like with Jontron, there is nothing but speculation unfortunately. All we really have are snide twitter snipes from Oney and the odd comment from Ding Dong indicating that it was something to do with Dream Daddy.

Although I have no evidence, I reckon that Arin tried to incorporate Oneyplays under the GG banner as around the time the fall out happened Oney was quite prevalent on the GG channel (Grumpcade, Doodle Doods) and was actively working from the GG office when it all ended suddenly with Oneyplays being recorded in Oney's house and Oney unfollowing Arin and Supermega. My money is on Oney telling Arin to fuck off and him having a hissy fit.

From what I understand, DD & J called the whole 'game' nothing but shameless pandering to the LGBTQ+ crowd; which the Grumps didn't take kindly to (I guess a bisexual and a gay man have no idea what they were talking about when it comes to LGBTQ+ themed anything).

Oney dodged a fucking bullet.

What even happened to Ross and Steam Train? Did Ross finally just get fed the fuck up? Because honestly, Arin comes across as an asshole.

If I remember right, and someone please correct me if I'm mistaken, Ross stopped steam train because he was either trying to pitch an animated pilot/was hired to an animated pilot. I think for some sort of kid's show? Pretty sure the deal fell through though or the pilot didn't get picked up, but he wanted to continue focus more on animation work and not YouTube LPs. Wouldn't be surprised if behind the scenes marriage issues played into things too.

Question, which games would you really NOT want GG to do Let's Plays of?

After watching just 10 minutes of the trainwreck that was the Spiderman PS4 LP, I would dread it if Arin ever touched any of the Arkham games. Dude is such a whiny, incompetent, scatterbrained tool who's only a few inches above of DSP levels of terrible, I can only imagine how dreadful it would be to watch him talk constantly over the game, ignoring the teaching of a new mechanic every single time then accusing the game of not teaching him shit and eventually falling back to temper tantrums and screaming.

This was pretty much their entire Sonic and the Black Knight playthrough, which made me stop watching GG for good. Yes Arin, the game is not that good, but you could spend at least 10 seconds to read the on-screen instructions you fat jackass.

Oh man, you just made me connect something. Arin is on the path to becoming DSP. Not in a shit talking "huh huh he's almost dsp guys" sense but legitimately. DSP got used to using very little effort and doing shit like just running past everything and refusing to learn. Not turning on the almonds because he could always just bash his head against it a few times then look it up.

Arin is on the way there, complete with blaming games, becoming toxic, being a dick to his fans, and still expecting a solid employment income. Just wait till that starts to wane, then he'll be really entertaining because as much as I loath to compliment DSP, DSP is slightly less of a whiny bitch over Arin. Arin's bitching is feminine and weak, DSP just goes full caveman.

As far as what games I would never want them to play? Legacy of Kain titles, Diablo II, anything by Platinum.

Stick around, and he looks like a disinterested/spineless co-host who enables Arin's BS behavior/comments/decisions

Danny 100% enables Arin to be a little shit and he gets away with it because OMG HE'S CUTE and he's the more tolerable of the two so no one criticizes him. He's gets a pass from even the detractor ex-fans because Arin is so over the top annoying and unfunny now

It was about time Mr. Hanson got his due thread on here if you ask me. I was one of the many who watched the Newgrounds animations back in the heyday and got a chuckle out of those, but seeing those Sequelitis video's was cringeworthy in my eyes as far as legitimate game critique goes and in the broader scope of things, a prelude to how Game Grumps would showcase his biased outlook on games.

I never was a serious fan of GG or watched any of their playthroughs upon release aside from the vs. Grumps episodes as it was one of the stronger points to hear Jon and Arin bounce off and mock each other in a multiplayer game ( or co-op one with the Goof Troop episodes) as well as the more infamous episodes I caught wind of in due time like the Sonic 06 series. But even looking back at a few video's during the Jon era, I could detect Arin being a impatient complaining douche with getting his ass handed on Donkey Kong Country 2 and ragequitting that game, and getting butthurt over people calling him out over how bad he is at Star Fox 64.

With Danny replacing Jon, the show might as well be called The Assblasted Arin Show because as relatively down to earth and friendly Danny can be, he's not a good foil to Arin to provide good vidya game humor with and often just acts as Arin's yes-man and asspatter on-screen.

But what really drives me up the wall is their lynch mob of a fanbase who obsess over him like a cult leader and he knows it, exploiting their financial gain to a whim much like DSP with the overpriced pins and (giving Dan some flak here) having the guts to say a guide publisher's name on the video and acknowledging he'll be getting hate from their fans.

Can't honestly wait till their fanbase wises up and leaves for better content creators or get tired of his whiny 'THIS GAME SUX!' schtick, and that Arin will probably drive even his closest associates away with his attitude bearing on them long-term.

Sorry for the long post there, but I've got a question: can anyone fill me in on what that monetized 'apology' video was exactly about in the 1:23:30 timestamp of the Skyward Sword TIHYDP where Arin whispers like a pussywhipped wimp in front of the camera? I couldn't understand the context behind the video and would like to know.

Spec Ops: The Line
Cities: Skylines
Any grand strategy games (Civ, Stellaris etc) (I know he's played Civ 5 in the past and that was very cringy)
Red Dead Redemption
Fallout: New Vegas

Hell any game that requires a touch of thought really.

I'd hate to see Arin play any of the SNES Final Fantasy games. They're pretty easy but he would just do nothing but use physical attacks and complain about it being boring, then get pissed when bosses that require strategy kick his ass. Worst of all, we'd have to listen to his voice acting "talent" the whole time. When he's not getting lost that is.

Another game which I guess would. Fall under that umbrella would be Dark Cloud 1-2 mainly for the weapon system you have to upgrade your weapons in order to beat the game and it requires certain gems and such to uprgrade it enough to change it to another weapon. Not to mention the brolly super Saiyan rage when he finds out that he can break his weapons and once it breaks with the exception of the first weapon you get in the game you basically lost. That weapon forever or at least you have to start from scratch to make that weapon again. I remember the first time I did that was Dark Cloud 1 I finally got the ultimate weapon in the game but since it starts with its durability sucks I got then desetroyed it in the same dungeon ;[.

I didn't watch the apology video, myself (I thought it was unneeded/pandering to a spoiled audience - and, now getting a better idea on what kind of guy Arin is, faked garbage); but the gist of it was Arin apologizing to the pissed off fanbase (or, more accurately, the vocal minority he chooses to pander to) for neglecting their needs/expectations by not delivering Ghoul Grumps on time and explaining the reasons why (namely, he was going through some mental anguish which disrupted their recording schedule - or something like that).

A whole apology video - because some entitled Grumps fans missed out on a single year of Halloween themed games. And the only reason they got that apology video was because a small spoiled section of the fanbase was so pissed at not getting their Halloween videos that they had - apparently - flooded NSP's newly released music video with 'Where's Ghoul Grumps' and similar entitled comments because these spoiled brats were well aware that Dan is less likely to ignore them.

I wish I was kidding. These are the kind of fans that the Grumps bend over for. I get that they rely on the fanbase to support themselves/their channel; but what ever happened to saying 'no'? - especially when the fans cross the line when it comes t their demands (the Ghoul Grumps fiasco, the House Party stunt, the demands to alter their word choices to avoid triggering people, etc. Where does it end?)

not sure if you could say that about all the grump fans from what I find at the most at the non extreme end of the reddits like rant grumps there criticism is mostly wishing arin would stop shitting on the game for things that are his fault but ya a very vocal miniority decided to go absolutely full retard so much so that even some post on rantgrumps defended him and that should tell you all you really need to know about the situation without even watching the video

Imagine being so entitled that you harass the very people you look up to just because they didn't do their annual spooky videos, hot damn.

Wait, really? Their Ghoul Grumps episodes aren't even that good. They never finish the series - if I recall, their Dead Rising video they ended up just watching someone else play the end - and they always play a few episodes, Arin gets ADD, and they move to another.

I haven't checked their channel since last year but I have to say, Arin's new artstyle is... very 2005 Deviantart. The old classic was rounded and smooth, while this is very... offputting. A lot of angles and unnecessary lines. It looks like he tries to imitate jhonen vasquez with the eyes in some, but it just makes the image even uglier.

Yes, really. The main Grumps reddit blew up with a bunch of entitled fans pissing and moaning over how Ghoul Grumps was a tradition by this point and that to forgo on those episodes was very inconsiderate of the Grumps to do that to the fans who looked forward to those episodes every year. To make up for the 'goof up'; the Grumps released a short, goofy video of Arin and Dan wearing skeleton onsies while they danced around the office (everyone looked drained) and released one Ghoul Grumps episode (a Friday the 13th survival game). Needless to say, the spoiled fans were not impressed.

So, to make up for the screw up, the Grumps did two weeks worth of Holiday themed videos around Christmas (one week was a 'Nightmare Before Christmas' theme - to make up for the lack of Ghoul Grumps in October - and the second week was dedicated to Jingle Grumps).

And, surprise! Despite all that, the same entitled fans complained they didn't release a Christmas themed video - on Christmas.

There is seriously no way of making those fans happy.

If you're referring to their channel mascots (the heads/avatars); I don't think Arin made them - he had someone else create them for the channel.
