ArtcowMichael John Kricfalusi / John Kricfalusi / John K. / John K. Stuff / Raymond Spum - scammer animator who pissed away his own career, salty blogger, CONFIRMED predator and child rapist
And now you know why John K. could even get his foot in the door anywhere else after he got fired by Nickelodeon. He made Ren and Stimpy, after all, so he had to be a genius, the thinking went.
After many failed projects and the colossal bomb that was Adult Party Cartoon, however, nobody wanted to deal with him anymore - and that's why he had to go to Kickstarter to get anything made.
And yet that went nowhere for a long time either. I mean Cans Without Labels apparently didn't get finished until recently (something I'm incredibly skeptical about), making people assume he was just scamming others out of their money.

Wait, Cans Without Labels was finished? I thought it was 'finished' in the sense that most of the sketches were never animated and fan just cobbled together whatever scraps they had.

Hey everyone. After watching all pages of one of the most interesting and eye-opening threads I've seen, I have to say, I kinda feel ill.
I feel ill that I used to support this idiot's work. Now, don't get me wrong: I wouldn't declare him God (like, no human being can be God). But my god, even the fact he inspired my art style makes me vomit (which would fit perfectly well, as while writing it, I have fever).
This guy obviously has talent, and nobody can deny that. However, it's absolutely baffling how much he took his art style for granted. To the point he was disrespectful with others' opinions (I personally have no problem with him hating 80's cartoons; however, he is also able to call others idiots if they like that sort of thing), a sexual abuser (for which, I assume after watching the PMs he sent to one of two victims, he isn't the least bit ashamed of), and a freakin perfectionist. Again, I usually have no problem with that, except in this case, John was utterly blind to any of the symptoms, including being always late in deadlines, acting really disrespectfully to everyone, and being a racist to Japanese people. Like seriously, if it wasn't for Vincent Waller's (a more mature artist who has his limits when doing animation based on a lot of his works, and currently works on SB, which show's latest seasons have been for me brilliant) amazing drawings and the fact he would accept working with him, he would get tossed out of his friend list.
Really, I'm sick of him. And I would do anything to suck away all the bad memories of people working with him.
A YouTube comment by Jeremy Kuehnau on the Cans Without Labels video (I can't find it now, but I initially had a copy of it, which I posted to Toonzone (now Anime Superhero))
When I first saw the kickstarter for this, I laughed my ass off because it seemed like the biggest scam of all time.
Here's the thing, for awhile John K was doing online animations that you could buy online from various websites. He already DID "Cans Without Labels" years ago and it was the same damn concept, but done like in flash animation. It was already a completely done product, I last saw it back in 2005 or 2006.
SO when John K was trying to get people to pay for an animation he already did, I couldn't believe it.
John might have been a legendary animator back in the 90's, but he's just a tired old hack these days that seems to think he knows better than anyone else.

Look, I don't blame you if you supported John K. A lot of people did, and a lot of people had no idea about all this. I'm not going to judge you about this.
The YouTube comment is a new wrinkle in the whole Cans Without Labels story. Maybe one of the Lost Media Wiki guys should get on the case and find this original version.
EDIT: Do any of you remember when I said the R&S documentary would be due out this year? It will be out, but apparently they had to totally recut the documentary to fit the JK news in.
I didn't say it because of possible judgedment; I just felt this way. Also, since a lot of his cartoons were evident of his sexual behaviour, the fact he was a sexual abuser and too much of a perfectionist isn't nearly as baffling (after all, we all have made mistakes in our lives) as the fact now that almost noone is on his side, he's still too much of a jerk to be honest about his mistakes (let aside that sort of promising at the beginning, but overall cringry apology, that if anything else, shows by regarding his releationship with the girls good ol' days and still refarding himself as the only one who breaks the mould, that he's terribly blind at understanding that people aren't that stupid to sympathise with him anymore).

That be interesting if ever found. It wouldn't surprise me he did a lot of random flash toons like that without thinking he was repeating himself later.

Anyway, do you know that John K. and Spumco would make a videogame in the early 2000s, called Go Go Hypergrind? Because, here's the irony: the game looks suspiciously like something he would never be involved with, as well as something he would rant.
Much like how another one said in the thread, regarding anime: "He may be ranting on them, but he will publish anime drawings on his blog, to solely catch up with the trends".
Side note: I find the fact it was also made by a Japanese company, only to not be released in Japan, is kinda hilarious.
