Let me take a wild fucking guess. The TDS'ers in the comments are going to be complaining about how much Trump "lies", is that right?

Edit: Yep. They're defending Buzzfeed and HuffPost and saying that Trump is the "king" of fake news.

I mean he did basically keep them alive for the last three years. Posting sassy GIFs in response to “covfefe” was probably what garnered enough traffic to keep the lights on for them.

In a recent episode that Jean wrote himself, called Daddicus Finch, they made a joke about how Trump supporters don't want to talk to the media because they're ashamed that he's president, and that the media constantly persists, but they never get an answer, thus proving that they are right about Trump's presidency being "DUH WORST". The joke doesn't even work because there's only a small minority of Trump supporters who really are ashamed and remember, jokes work when they are rooted in some kind of reality.

I'm sorry, but this is the only way I can find the proper footage.

The only reason why I'm a Trump voter who's "in the closet" is because I don't want to get yelled at, be called every horrible name in the book, doxxed, threatened, and harassed.

It's more of a "life preservation" thing, tbh. Not because I'm "ashamed" of my vote.

And such a sad world in that you have to do that, because people can't just be civil if they disagree...

I lived with people who passed out drunk in depression election night. I've never been soo lucky to work closing shift during an election.

It's amazing how yellow journalists think that the fact that not everyone worships the ground they walk on is a sign of the end times. The sheer narcissism that takes puts most of the cows on this site to shame.

Well, to be fair to them.... One time I lost my job, and I thought the world was ending too, until five minutes later I realized I wasn't a useless fuck and could get another job. Oh.... wait...

10 years ago, I loved talking about politics with people. I hated Obama as President, but I never once yelled at a person because they voted for him and supported him. It would just be a discussion of ideas and opinions, and that would be it.

I started to avoid discussing politics shortly after the 2012 Election/during the time of Benghazi. I'm not one of those people who 100% believes that there was some sort of "gun running to Syria" type of thing going on, but I was a person who criticized Obama AND Clinton for fucking up and then lying about the reason why the attack on the Embassy even happened. I was like "He's lying about messing up BIG TIME because an election was coming up, so of course he resorted to shifting the blame," and people just WENT for me. I remember even someone crying out to me "Hillary is going to retire. She'll be gone from politics soon anyway, so why keep criticizing her?! Just leave the poor woman alone! You're so bloodthirsty!" (as if they didn't know she was going to run in 2016, HA).

It has gotten SO much worse since 2012, though. The trajectory of the political discourse has been staggering.

Though, I do admit: I am getting sick to death of going out in public just to have fun, and then the conversation devolves into people being so depressed over Trump (even though literally nobody in the groups I'm with are remotely affected). And if you dare say anything that doesn't go with what they're saying, I guarantee there would be tears and sobbing ... So I don't even bother. If I can't benefit intellectually from the conversation and all I get is an awkward as hell situation, I just avoid it. I'm pretty sick of constantly needing to walk on eggshells, though ... Especially when people obviously don't give me the same courtesy. OH WELL.
