[Jan-2019] Resident Evil 2 Hardcore Difficulty - Cuz he's got "balls of steel"

I beat Leon A on hardcore. Finished in 8 hours and 20 saves. Never ran low on anno or ink ribbons. I played cautiously and ended up back tracking a lot. Would end up reloading certain areas multiple times in an attempt to run through it without taking damage or wasting ammo.

My biggest problem area was The second G fight until I said fuck it and leaned more on my magnum rather than that stupid crate. First attempt that way won me the fight no problem.

The game can be frustrating but you learn and adapt and it’s insanely fun and polished. The fact that he can’t go 10 minutes without insulting capcom is a testament to him being shit at the game.

And watching David Davidson's re-stream, it was such a contrast between David and Phil playing.

David playing:
Knowing when to fight and when to run
Competent gameplay, with few "dead spots"
Great reactions, especially when the first licker jumped at him, and when Mr. X was chasing him and he was sandwiched between Mr. X and a licker
Didn't save at all, even with the unlimited saves

Phil playing:
Tries to kill everything, which meant he was hurting for ammo
Numerous pauses for "shoutouts" and surely reading chat to see what he needs to do instead of playing through and figuring it out himself, also gameplay grinding to a halt as he brute-forced those locks
Typical Phil "macho" reactions to jumpscares, and the salty bitching whenever he died or found himself in a tough spot
Ran dry on ink ribbons, sadly not to the extent of his RE3 playthrough...I would have loved a repeat of that

David was having fun with the game, while Phil literally wanted to get it over with ASAP the first moment he faced adversity. In fairness, David was playing on standard to Phil's hardcore, but David said himself he wanted to have fun with the game and get a feel for it first before he tackled hardcore, which is fair enough. Phil only played hardcore because his little piggies filled his trough with enough cash to do it.

With David, I was entertained by his gameplay. With Phil, the only entertainment you get from him is when you watch and comment with other people about how bad this guy is and how he can make any game seem unplayable. He's basically the MST3K of Twitch streamers.

I am absolutely looking forward to the TIHYDP of this mess of a playthrough. Good luck with it since this is 2019 Phil now. The few hours watching him was enough for me to just wait it out.
Been too busy watching another streamer(Avoidingthepuddle). While he's not an expert, he surely knows how to entertain and has a lot of experience with RE games. If I want to see a really good player, almost a master at the games, I'd go watch Carcinogen.

I would like to see those who called it baby mode get S+ rank on hardcore

i seriously believe adjusted difficulty is why the option continue is there. because continue or load,it still used the last save

one thing they probably should have said when picking continue is that the game would be adjusted or some shit

So by your logic because getting an S+ rank is challenging Hardcore mode isn't easy even though it adjusts the difficulty for pathetic players like Phil? Just checking.

Yea I saw the flash bang trick after I beat the game. I didn’t want to look up any guides and figure these things out for myself.

I’ll utilize the flashbangs more on future runs. I kept them purely as self defense items but I ended up finishing the game with like 100 handgun rounds left and 5+ combat knives. My playthrough was awkward as hell.

Also, by that fight I was out of fuel. I ended up draining my flamethrower on the G mutations in the sewers because I was stupid and backtracked like 4 times lol. That made life with the Ivy’s fun.

He’s also entertaining and I can look at any number of his streams and be entertained. Dude pretty much popularized streaming as he started on his own website years ago.

I swear, all Phil has to do is watch 2-3 popular, successful streamers with an open mind to understand why they make tons of money.
