I love it when he says "That was a weird fight", it just shows how he has no idea how the game works and just mashes buttons until he wins.

On a sidenote, KH3 seems to be boring as fuck, also the humor and the dialog looks like it was made for toddlers but at the same time it's meant to be played by people old enough to know all the references in the game. Really bizarre game.

Phil's intelligence is weird. Metokur says he's both the luckiest and unluckiest guy in the world; and I think he's both smart and stupid as fuck at the same time. He's smart enough to graduate from HS valedictorian (as much as everybody likes to discredit his accomplishment, it's still a very nice accomplishment), graduate college with a 4 year degree, show enough to get hired at the Paper Airplane factory (as much as everybody likes to discredit his accomplishment by saying his dad got him the job, I'm sure he wasn't directly hired by his dad and had to impress the interviewer), yet like you say he's dumb enough to play Dark Souls for the 4th time and still not know anything. It's baffling.

DSP went to a private catholic school that focused on athletics, so it was probably like my school where I graduated top ten despite not showing up at all senior year except for football practice. It’s not that big of an accomplishment, really, and I’m not surprised DSP could be first of his high school class. Especially since he didn’t play sports and I imagine his parents kept a close watch on him and had “homework time” and all that.

Get his college transcripts for a more accurate representation of his intellectual abilities, but DSP isn’t “slow”. Probably brighter than average, really, but needs highly structured environments to do well. He’s just an awkward fruitcake and you’re seeing him revert back to childishness because I don’t think he has any sort of social life outside of streaming. I do not think Kat is that involved with him.

It's been confirmed. I forget the name of the exceptional diligent kiwi who did so but the school did make that claim. I believe there's been some discussion about the level of academic rigor there or if it is more of a glorified training camp for soon-to-be collegiate athletes.

I looked up his alma mater the other day; it's not ivy league but it's a good school and has a particularly strong school of business. Not to say that Phil didn't coast through high school and got into college through favors or nepotism as that shit happens all the time but it's unlikely those things would have seen him through a four-year degree program.

So, the question: is Phil actually smart and just squandering his potential, or is he actually just the luckiest man on Earth? And which is worse?

Based on the level of intelligence shown during the Bully quizzes and all his talk about knowing match-ups and shit when he plays SF2T and the like, Phil was probably someone who did well by memorizing whatever he needed to for an exam and then immediately forgot it. That also would explain why he doesn't seem to retain game mechanics in sequels at all and uses the exact same combo in every newer fighting game. He memorizes just enough to accomplish his goal (do well on the test, complete a puzzle, beat some new players the first day a fighting game comes out) and that's it.

Not to say that Phil didn't coast through high school and got into college through favors or nepotism as that shit happens all the time but it's unlikely those things would have seen him through a four-year degree program.

There's plenty of total morons that graduate. Unless it's a gatekeeping class for a hard science, most professors aren't going to fail you unless you actively work to make that happen (not coming to class for quizzes or tests, that sort of thing).

Actually now that you mention it you're probably right, especially if his chosen program had no research focus. Professors in "practical" programs don't publish as much if at all and so their tenure eligibility is determined more heavily by pupil achievement. Those do tend to be mills for less-than-stellar graduates.

He didn’t go to a research institution, I believe. The culture is a lot different for professors at universities where they are paid to produce new knowledge and not so much to educate undergrads.

Ive been reading this thread on and off for the last 3 years and following dsp since the this is how you dont play mgs2 days. im up to date since then i think without being involved in any kind of community because dsp is best enjoyed from afar imo.

So many nights after getting high or sinking a few cans sat in bed ive spent watching that daft cunt make a twat of himself to the world. Its been absoltute hilarity to see the comedic creativity spent highlighting this dipshits stupiduty on both an small and large scale. It is fucking beautiful in its own way, pisstakes from DSP provides the ultimate escapism the pits of hell, because at least you arent DSP.

DSP has honestly tried and had become better in the last three years, but as times change and he doesnt he just keeps trucking on as the lowcow he is. How the fuck is big phil even alive, in a third world country he would have died years ago. the poor cunt bless him, has honestly cut down on being an ignorant fat pigroach. Hes a fucking slugs version of rocky, each punch he takes, each setback he makes for himself, every humanity sapping beg he makes helps him survive.

Your world against me attitude and constant ignorance of reality is a better insight into the detriment of humaity than any reality TV show such as celebrity love island or x factor can be. To add some merit to the existence of my post, I would point out that I haven't seen anything here and I was watching Tevin's restream and nothing was said about doing this.

He is also walking it back saying the detractors were insulting people, whereas Swagginz was not. I guess Swaggy was shitting on the game? Apparently Phil saw the detractors planning it out in the open.
