Sister Krone seems "problematic" on the surface, but it's just she makes some of the usual over the top insane hyper detailed anime faces just on a black character. Even the accusations that she could be seen as a mammy stereotype go down the drain if you know the first thing about the premise.

She looks normal when she's not scheming, but people selectively choose those moments to push the idea that she's potentially controversial because it sort of resembles old racist Americana art. If she was the ONLY black character in the show/manga there may have been a case, but she's not.

She often calls the ANN forums infested with alt-right/nazis because there's people there who disagree with the staffers on certain subjects and it's her way of dismissing any criticism against her as being valid.

It's always fun to see someone bring up her Twitter rants on the forums on how she unabashedly calls everyone on the forums Nazis. Half the time a moderators deletes the posts and warns people to not bring Twitter drama to the forums, the other half Hope will post and actually try to clarify. And by clarify I mean cover her ass. My favorite is when one time Zac actually had to step in and clean up her mess because she went totally insane and locked a discussion thread after throwing a tantrum where she doubled down and said anyone who liked this anime was a misogynist.

I think at least 90% of "pro" adult asshole pop culture bloggers/vloggers have this problem, where they no longer like whatever media they're orbiting, but they can't STFU and go away because they have hitched their stupid careers to blathering endlessly about media for adbux. And most of them don't have a real degree to fall back on.

It's like going back in time 25 years and seeing some middle aged writer at Rolling Stone shitting all over modern bands because nobody gives a shit about 70s and 80s corporate schlock rock anymore.

Anime News Network published their Vic article and immediately it turned into a shit show. The worst they've got him on is being a creepy old dude. One of the photos they used is from a girl who has no problem with Vic and wants nothing to do with this campaign. A girl they quoted accused another voice actor of raping her, which he's denied and provided DMs.

Has Hope chimed in on this yet? She interviewed Vic last year and never mentioned any of this shit.

ANN still hasn't officially published a word about Hazukari despite him having been a contributor to the site.

It was years ago, so no. But Zac's post of him coming in to clean up her mess and scolding her is still there to this day. After she was effectively banned from the thread, she ranted on Twitter about the show and its fans instead. So if anyone wants to go no life comb through her Twitter around the beginning of 2015, they might find stuff. Assuming she didn't delete all them.

Zac has said he originally wanted to be a film critic. So it's true for him. It also applies to Hope to some degree as well, because it seems every other ANN podcast they do together, half of it is them discussing recent movies they saw, because that's totally what an anime podcast should be about.

Also,this whole mess with Vic Mignogna and the way Todd Habekorn has been involved now reminds me a lot of #ChangeTheChannel. I'm sure this shit will get even bigger...

They've had contact since at least 2007, when Hope was 17, because there's an Answerman column where a "Hope C" writes in to Zac for the fan column. Ironically in the same column he condemns some voice actors who slept with their fans at a con. I guess Zac subscribes to the "do as I say, not as I do" type of advise. No idea if they were a thing at the time, but that was like 5 years before she even met Nash.
