Seeeeeew grateful for the ABA therapists over the last 5 years. But why dont we see any one them for more than 1-2 "episodes" of The Susan Show? Like, whatever happened to Hot Jennifer the ABA therapist? Or Taya, the tutor? Susan cycles through staff at an almost unbelievable rate, and has for over 10 years.

The only steady characters we see are Paris (black dude) and Carlos (Mexican dude), both minimum wage state paid respite workers, who have zero medical training and have the easiest job in the world: dole out whatever pills Susan says to give to the kids, and agree with her on camera that they need more medicine / medicine Susan says they need / the medicine she got now is great. Other than that, just kick back and read your phone for 8 hours; the ABA therapists are supposed to bathe and toilet them. The more comatose the better.

And this is why trained staff refuse to attend this family any longer. Susan will fire them with bad reviews if they do anything effective, and just doing their jobs properly they'll offend her.

Minimum wage slaves it is, plus whatever mentally ill adults from Facebook like Susan's posts enough. That's who raises the kids.

Oh, it's been radio silence since at least Saturday. Since they were told Bodhi needed to be off clozaril, and then Monday off all meds, we've heard not a word from our favorite commentator.

Of course, he’s dying to rage and try to blame Mike and all these “know nothing haters who don’t live with them” for bringing all this heat on them.

Im curious what his actual opinions of Susan’s child abuse truly is. He knows she’s bonkers but does he really believe the whoppers Susan tells about six year old Bodhi being a murderous psycho? He might have at first, but now he’s watched Susan over react to even Bodhi’s smallest normal behaviors as hallucinations and psychosis for awhile. So even if he believed her hysterical stories at first he certainly knows better now.

Either Cory is even far stupider than we suspected (and we all think he wouldn’t graduate kindergarten sped) or he’s a true sadist that enjoys watching the kids be abused.

(He’s obviously a grifter too but at this point his gravy train isn’t going to stop if the abuse does. But for all his anger issues he probably does realize Susan holds all the real leverage in this situation and he eithe has to go along with the shitshow or get out.)

It is interesting that during the weekend Susan had big public expressions of love and thanks for Cory on FB, but since Monday he’s not been mentioned at all. (He also NEVER posts about Susan or the kids on his own FB that I’ve ever seen.)

I'm actually more up for seeing how Creepy plays it than anything else.

I think he's an ineffectual little man who was only just hanging onto the bottom rungs of life on a precarious, week-to-week basis. And that made him perfect fodder for the low-level manipulation Screech is a pro at, because everything about Cory suggests he thinks he is above that nasty reality.

She reeled him in partially by using the save-poor-wide-eyed-pwecious-me shtick that appeals to mens' vanity (women do the Saviour thing too but for different reasons.) Screech gave Cory the insta-life he was absolutely failing to attain by any metric - he'd no longer be one step above itinerant bum, he'd be the conquering hero that Saved This Family, fending off dragons and generally behaving like a hero without actually doing anything much except shout on FaceBook.

He's been able to reinvent himself all on the back of a small, fucked-up little boy. The Big Man goes to work then comes home to adoring wife, loving stepdaughter and the Boy He Saved because he is the only one who Understands Bodhi and can free him from the Prison of his Mind. We know that's horseshit but that's the narrative Cory is living, rather than fifty-fail minimum wage dosser.

And all those capital letters are because I truly think that's how Cory sees/saw himself. A comfortable life - that apartment is a nightmare but it's a big step up from a dosshouse - with way more money coming in than he'd ever be able to earn, with the ego boost to persuade himself he's a success after all.

But that relied on not looking too closely and this is the first time he's seen Bodhi unmedicated. Cory had investment in the story but I think he's been defending it so long because without it, he's not the Rescuing Hero, he's complicit in abuse. He needed the narrative just as much as Screech, just for different reasons. But now Bodhi's drug-free, hasn't killed anyone, and Cory can't choose his previous stance which we have pointed out before relies on him believing everything the world's most unreliable narrator tells him.

Assuming he's not abusing Bodhi, Cory will either man up or double-down. But I'd guess he's pretty discomfited right now because he's got no choice but to question Screechy's "reality."

Personally, I think hell will freeze over before Cory admits he was wrong. Even if he does he won't face it, just do a midnight flit. But he likes being Big Man and has no way of sustaining it without Bodhi playing his part, so not only is he NOT a saviour - he's another useless adult relying on a kid to save him from failure.

I have to get caught up on the thread but the latest is that the DCFS case worker has gotten her supervisors involved and the case is moving up the chain of command. It is difficult to get a forensic psychologist involved when there is no court case because DCFS hasn't taken the kids, but they are trying. The case is staying open indefinitely. So the upshot is that based on what this doctor recommended, they really want a forensic investigation into the family.

I think that depends on if Cory has abused Bodhi the way many here have accused him of doing. If he has, then he must be pissed that Bodhi won't be drugged into a coma AND that Susan is no longer providing any cover for him to do what he wants. If he's just an innocent bystander putting up with Susan for the welfare bux, then I guess he'd be angry too.

DCFS needs to get Cory out of there. Bodhi has no personal space as it is and Cory makes it 1000x worse. He also eggs on the Munchie behavior nonstop for his own benefit. I doubt Cory is legally living there, most landlords wouldn't let that many people on a lease for a one bedroom apartment, not with two grown children. I doubt Cory even has the credit to be approved for the lease, being a homeless car vacuumer and all.

Yes, I saw all of that. I’m specifically referring to when he’s pulling Bodhi flush against him.. rubbing his arms up and down.. and if you watch all of Cory’s mannerisms around that time.. to me they just appear as gigantic waving, dancing red flags! It’s unsettling to watch. That is just what I personally saw in it though.

Both the new psychiatrist and Michael both asked Susan to stop filming the kids and uploading videos and Susan refused, claiming she is an "advocate." Michael accused her of uploading videos for the ad money. I think that refusal was part of why the doctor recommended a forensic investigation, which DCFS picked up on, along with the doctor stating very clearly that Bodhi seemed overmedicated. He stated he would not be comfortable putting a child that young on Clozapine and lithium. He also specifically said he wants to ensure Bodhi lives into his 20s and 30s. I think all these things, along with a DCFS agent who seems committed and deeply bothered by how Bodhi's been, is making her go up the chain of command trying to get a forensic investigation.
