The Super Best Friends Super Best Griefing Thread - Matt's a cuck, Liam is a bitch, Pat's a loony and Woolie's Way is now trademarked

I think Matt's RE2 comments (and subsequent cowardly back down) kind of highlights the "draw" of the SuperBestFriends and what Matt is missing out of a great deal by going solo.

Matt only seems to like the games he likes (Horror games, but indie ones) and is really lukewarm on other games. When SBF was made up of two man teams, you could situate the Let's Play in a way where at least one person gave a tremendous and genuine shit about the game they're playing. Matt doesn't have someone to lean on for RE2 (this would have been Pat) the way he used to.

Twitter is cancer and I hate it, I could have accepted the SBFP break-up as just a bunch of people drifting apart and not looked further into it than that but no I had to have twitter exist and make me angry at both Matt and Liam for their opinions on whatever.

I'm actually more mad at Matt because the podcast the week before the split-up was Woolie and Pat talking excitedly about what was coming up on the channel and suddenly Matt comes back from vacation and BOOM, It's dead.

It honestly does seem like it was on Matt. Pat I can totally see still working with someone despite not really liking them and it being fine. But Matt was just getting more and more passive-aggressive at him.

On a different note, seeing Pat freak out on Twitter about the Nier: Automata/FF XIV collaboration has been great. He might even be doing some kind of video series with Mr. Clemps.

On another note, it’s kinda funny to see how drastically their personalities swapped from the very first(?) episode on the channel.

That's cause Matt wanted to do it with Woolie, wherein he would be the smart one (lol) yelling at Woolie for not knowing how to play Kirby. Pat played along but then reality ensued.

Red guy then created a throwaway account on Twitter to yell at Pat for how not mad he was for being kicked out 4 years ago. Pat humored him for a while and then blocked him. It’s a pretty fun read.

Holy shit he's an idiot. I forgot about this. I'm so glad Pat called his monkey ass out.

"If I get to ending A and liked what I played I'll just stop there, if I don't I'll play more" what type of logic is that? If that's the case then why would he play for more than 10 minutes of a game?

Sorry if I seemed upset. He really would fit in at a place like Kotaku.

Edit: I think a good example of Pat still working well with people he doesn't like is when he was still in a way promoting Matt's channel. In the SBFP Finale where he mentions you have 3 weird dads to watch.

The weirdest thing about Matt is that you can easily call out his ass for some mistakes, during his "What Happened" videos, I called him out for saying "Oh STALKER wasn't popular in the west yet" and he brings up Clear Sky (2nd STALKER game) as his example or when he said how nobody knew about Bethesda till F3 or Oblivion, even though old school RPG players would instantly bring up something like "Morrowind"

He can't be serious, there's no way he'd think that members of a dev team should be laid off for not adding a "selfie mode". That's way too autistic.

Edit: Tired Cat is 100% right. Besides nothing is more immersion breaking for a SURVIVAL HORROR game than a selfie mode.

Yes there are wacky things in Resident Evil, but the characters in Resident Evil all take them deadly seriously. It's literally where all of the charm of the games comes from. As someone who commentates on, did QA work for, and (allegedly) designs video games he probably should know that.

Yeah, this isn't Dead Rising where it's supposed to be B-Movie/Evil Dead 2 level goofy where you might as well bust out a selfie mode. Quite frankly, it's weird he'd even suggest this when him and Patt were all over RE7 for it's atmosphere and tension it brought.

Okay, let's humor him and I'm just gonna think this trough. So, what he expects players to lumber around this Polaroid camera (which FYI you need film, so that's like taking extra inventory space along with said camera) and when the character does said selfie they essentially get themselves blinded and thus leaving themselves to get super punched by Mr.X or nommed by a nearby corpse.
