Dumbest Youtube gaming related channels - Warning: Bad and/or confusing content

Do you know what I like about YT videos? When the narrator interrupts the video for dumb, unfunny jokes and take more than 8 minutes to get to what the title is about.

Edit for avoiding double post: @Slamerella Yes! I was thinking the exact same thing! I got a vibe from him that he maybe drunk or on drugs!
His normal videos are interesting and informative but it's like TGWTG trying to make skits and just fall flat.
That video was incredibly boring and it should have been no more than five minutes long.
Does Larry let his friends post videos on his channel because he knows they'd never get anywhere on their own?

Game Sack
The Game Sack guys can be weirdly awkward when they do their talking segments and their script reading is pretty stiff, but they grew on me after watching several of their videos. And when it comes to fitting a large amount of quality information and reviews into their (relatively) short videos they're pretty great.

You're right about TheGamer, though; the videos on that channel are so bad I've also wondered whether it's parody.

This is basically the lineage that Channel Awesome has left the internet: a bunch of spergs that think shitty comedy skits are good content.

Yeah, Guru Larry features various people on his channel in order to try and give them a "bump". He'd been making videos with Wes for years, like dating back to the early ScrewAttack days. Larry also featured Daniel Ibbertson/DJ Slope on his channel a couple of times. Daniel's channel seems to have taken off, but Wes' hasn't. Guess they can't all be winners. Larry himself frequently makes guest appearances on other channels though (Ashes, Down the Rabbit Hole) so I guess he's just trying to pay it forward.

He's the Aussie, right? I've found the vintage gaming hardware scene on YouTube to be pretty okay.

PS: Is it just me, or is Let's Plays now a dead or dying format on YouTube?

I think Modern Vintage Gamer is british, though Australia was a PAL region as well and his old computers seems to be PAL. He's never attempted a joke and maybe that's for the best.
Another interesting channel for mostly old stuff is GameHut, the guy making videos is the founder of Traveller's Tales(Lego games, Mickey Mouse games on the Genesis/Mega Drive, Sonic R). He digs up old builds and betas and goes through the technical things he did and relatively recently he made a couple of videos on the Sega Saturn hardware, why it was complicated and what was necessary to get decent 3d performance out of it.
He's also very Christian and that makes him both cordial and dry as sand.

Among the moderately bad channels are all the ones that make videos on games where they more or less read the wikipedia page for the game.

Game Sack is great. It's just two dads with their dad hobby. Love the ending skits.

But for ones that annoy me, it'd be Daniel Ibbertson that comes to mind. I dunno what it is, I liked him at first but now I don't know. There's some sheer autism from his personality at some points that got under my skin.

A never liked or watched a video of game theory bassd on the titles alone being retarded.

The videos are retarded. The last one I watched was Luigi Is Rosalina's Father.

The Mario Is A Psycho video is really bad (I can disprove almost everything in that video) but the Rosalina one, I don't know why people kept watching afterwards! There's one part in his video where he makes a connection between a tree in the backstory of Rosalina (a pine tree) and points out a tree in the ending of Mario Galaxy, thus "making a connection".
What if I told you that the trees are a completely different shape? 11:28 if you don't believe me.

I watched one Game Theorists video to find out where Breath of the Wild sat in the Zelda timeline. The observations were decent enough, but Jesus Christ was the delivery godawful. I've never seen a more desperate attempt to appeal to children in my life. What a shitshow.

In case you're wondering: They concluded it's at the end of the Fallen Hero timeline, after Zelda II.

The worst one in terms of research is calculating Luigi's networth from his mansion in Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube. The video should've ended before it began because Luigi's mansion (as in the actual house he supposedly won from a contest he never entered) was all constructed by ghosts and Boos and faded away over night after saving Mario. The grand total should be straight up zero.

For video essays I would say cleanprincegaming or Downward Thrust. They make those clickbait "x didn't die, it was MURDERED" type of videos. They would sing to the choir and be hypocrital in every other video.

For reviews/rants, I say Dreamcast guy. His voice is high/reedy and his rants are pointless or inaccurate. He also sounds like he relies on his script too often.

I saw that "Things your snes can do" video awhile back and yeah it's horrendous, real basic stuff that kids who were born years after the snes could probably tell you.

The only good thing about the video was in the comments, Guru Larry commented how the shittiness of their videos never ceased to amaze him.
Guru Larry gets fucking everywhere. He's like the Where's Wally (Waldo yanks) of YouTube. I shit you not I was once watching a video on how to clear fogged car headlights and it had a comment from him. I know it's not spectacular that Larry has a car and may need to clean his lights but he seems to be the only mainstream YouTuber who uses his normal username to browse and comment on mundane shit.

Back Pocket Game Reviews. Constantly sperging about GameStop. He has his own thread here somewhere.

Sadly I can't link it since he deleted all of his videos but there was a "Let's Player" and all of his videos consisted of him playing gay anime games. The hysterical part was in every single one of his videos about 30 seconds in whatever he was recording it with would shit itself and it would appear as if he was just saying nonsense over a black screen. Pretty funny considering all of his videos were like 15 minutes long. Poor guy never caught on until I commented and he deleted everything. *sigh*

Game Sack is not that far off from a cable access show with better video equipment and that's probably why I like it as much as I do. It's also great to hear from a Sega fan who doesn't give a shit about Sonic.

Twitch is easier (no editing, etc.) and gives them more money.

And fans get to pretend the streamer is aware of their existence when they read the message the viewer paid for.

It's a win/win.
Good point. My hypothesis is that the "classic" Let's Players, who mostly did single-player games from their childhood and adolescence, ran out of games from from their childhood and adolescence. Meanwhile, Western game publishers moved towards multiplayer gaming (for a variety of reasons), which isn't conducive to "static" LP's, but do well when streaming (if I can stand 500-1000 dumbasses spamming in the chatbox while a single dumbass, the King Dumbass, plays poorly, which I can't).

Speed running probably ate some of their audience as well while the novelty of Let's Plays probably wore off to some extent. The total audience of people watching someone play a game is without a doubt much larger these days but the content itself diversified into different 'genres' that split the audience. Fortunately my favorite, Longplays, is as autistic and unpopular as ever.

GamingSins. CinemaSins was already an uninspired dumpster on fire: I always thought they wanted to do NC-style reviews but sadly Doug was already there getting copiously fellated by his army of loyal speds so they had to settle for this dumb shit.

But GamingSins is truly moronic because, being a shameless rip-off of CinemaSins, they try to apply movie logic to video games. For example I remember their video on Arkham Origins where the very first thing they criticize is the fact that once the player is given control of Batman the camera is pointing to where he must go, in this case the caved-in entrance of a prison. They call this a cliché, despite the fact that it's objectively standard level design: it tells the player where to go without text.

They also like to criticize dumb plots and poor decision-making, which are not "gaming sins".

tl;dr They're a bunch of obnoxious, uninspired and unfunny jackasses who don't know shit about basic video game structure and their videos are garbage.

Vidiots is a dumpster fire of a channel fronted by two dumbasses who quit WhatCulture (an actually good channel) because they were the big stars of the channel and thought they had enough of a personal following to make it big on their own.

Turns out that without someone to write their scripts for them they suck, hard. The "highlight" of the channel is the "worst games ever" series where they LP terrible games. In theory that could be good, however they have no onscreen chemistry and can't think up jokes on the fly, so these videos rapidly degenerate into one of them playing a very boring game, saying "this game is crap", while the other says "yup."

This is the best and most successful content they produce, but few of their videos exceed 30,000 views, whereas their Alma Mater, WhatCulture Gaming, gets millions every time and has replaced them without any issue. They have recently hitched themselves to fellow has-beens Yogscast in an effort to stave off total implosion.

As a tale of pride preceding a fall, it's quite poetic. As a gaming channel, it's shit.

My problem with a good number of gaming channels including some of those I watch regularly, are those that use the video as nothing more than a backdrop to their ramblings. For instance, when talking about the four different scenarios of the classic Resident Evil 2. Instead of putting up a picture or a clip to show how the game differs depending on which disc you insert first, they instead spend the next 10 to 20 seconds talking without pause something that is confusing to most newcomers.

You have the medium of VIDEO. USE IT.
