The other thing they seem to forget is the men who fought in World War II included the likes of Commander George Lincoln Rockwell, the man most notable for founding the first post-war National Socialist organization the American Nazi Party. I recall reading some studies that stated the public consensus during World War II was that the majority didn't care in the least about Jews dying in concentration camps. In fact, many were opposed to the immigration of Jews fleeing Nazi Germany.
