Horrorcow Susan Schofield Cabana, Cory Cabana, & Michael Schofield / Schofield Productions / @bipolarnation - A Tragicomic Tale of Psychiatric Munchausen's by Proxy

All I want for Susan is for go to a nice place that forces her to take all of her bipolar meds since I know how much she HATES taking hers~

Seriously, she has to be a narcissist since she hates taking hers so much but forces her kids on such dangerous ones solely so they get knocked out for half a day. She'd probably be the best mother for a permanently brain damaged coma patient.

Just think, if she had been the mother of that comatose patient in Arizona that gave birth she'd have that precious grandbaby she wants so much!!

A girl can dream!

Cory sounds like he's 'disciplining' Bodhi in the background. I hear him at 2:26 say sternly "Put the pillow down" ... jesus f, i don't have the software to lower screech's voice so i can hear the rest of what he's saying. my ears hurt.

I heard it too, and Cory doesn’t shut up. Susan turns off the camera and turns it on a bit later. Jani heard it too, she quickly looked at the door and looked away. Can you imagine yelling at a kid in Bodhi’s state? They are monsters.

Jani is a super-delayed teen, but even she is old enough to not want to pee herself. Kids as young as five are embarrassed and “hide” sheets in the washer. She’s embarrassed by peeing herself, knows it’s drugs, now she’s being punished for something she can’t help. She tells her Dad and is punished. Again, monsters.

Depends on the district but some schools have chrome books they’ll check out to kids and most only let them use them in school. That is rarely for SPEDs though.

Not sure how she can get around this except for Michael sending her a burner phone.

ER visits aren't cheap either. Urgent care costs about as much as a regular doctor's appointment in my general experience, but unless you have spectacular insurance, the ER's gonna whack you upside the head with a large lad copay.

It's so bizarrely self-defeating that it seems like something that has to be pure, uncontrolled mania rather than a poorly-executed nefarious plan. Since she's saying it's urgent care she can't be doing it just for the attention of "well gawsh he got so bad I had to take him to the ER." Someone who brings in a kid at midnight for fucking weight loss is gonna get some eyerolls and a long stay in the waiting room rather than the sort of medical attention that MBPs crave. And she's (likely) paying through the nose for the privilege of sitting in the waiting room with an angry sped child before being treated like the moron she is and being sent home.

She's just gone above and beyond the call of nutterbutter at this point. Countdown until she starts proclaiming to be Jesus and tries to fly off the roof of the Kaiser building?

If they are actually on medi-cal the ER visits are free. It might be the reason she’s hitting up the ER circuit again, free entertainment. It’s one of the major problems with Medicaid patients but their abuse of ERs subsidize them nicely. Nothing like billing the govt $10,000 just to hand out two pills and send someone home.

If she is using private insurance she will be hit with massive co-pays for abusing ER services.

Isn't the Medicaid/government health insurance patient abuse of the emergency room kind of the reason the ER costs so much for everyone who is self-pay or who has private insurance? /off topic

And yeah, both kids do have Medi-Cal, as stated by Leaks on here. They have state insurance due to their disabilities and Michael's CSUN insurance covering UCLA that Susan refuses to use for anything (out of spite?). Susan using the Medi-Cal to take Bodhi to the ER at all hours of the night for stupid reasons makes a lot of sense.

Just a few thoughts/questions:

Do you guys think Susan was pushed to get the BMW by Cory? I ask because she doesn't seem to give much of a shit about status symbols and his comment about how it was a really good deal from his work or whatever. I'm shocked that anyone would walk into a loan place and sign up for paying $55,000+ to loan less than $10,000 to buy a fancy car when they freely show the world they sleep on floor mattresses in a rented apartment with absolutely nothing aesthetic or stylish in it. Not that Susan employs logic or understands long term consequence.

Secondly, I'm disturbed as fuck by her taking off in the middle of the night and leaving Jani drugged and alone with the creep, although I find Cory touching and bathing (and punishing while bathing) Bodhi much, much more creepy.

Thirdly, in that screenshot with the disgusting cum stained mattress I couldn't help but notice that the stains were directly facing the other mattress. Gross enough to have sex in the same room as your kid but really sick to do it as close as possible, or perhaps Cory just likes to jerk off in his direction.:cryblood:

Susan is completely fucked and horrible but I actually hate Cory more, and while she can blame no one but herself for decisions she has made about her children, she's obviously mentally ill while he is a straight up aggressive, abusive predator. He has absolutely zero empathy, none. Those recent comments about how beautifully he slept while he was drugged out of consciousness every night for a year and a half really, really bothered me.

No, she's been a starfucker for years. It comes from her parents. Her dad chased down Dustin Hoffman to read his book and make him a STAR!!

Not to change the subject ...but i just googled Dr Rizvi...and i noticed on the "healthgrades" site that there are 5 reviews about him overmedicating... from early January 2019... Have some of you guys been very busy???

Did you notice the one where Cory gives him 5 stars?

I don't see anything about overmedicating, but I could be looking at the wrong Rizvi. It's not the one in Santa Clarita?

edit: nvm, I see it now. Don't think they're necessarily kiwis, they look the same as youtube comments from her videos.

W~eening is against the rules. So I sincerely hope not. It's dumb and annoying.

It's against the rules to interact with lolcows. If some of us reviewed Rizvi, we wouldn't admit to it.

Cory works as a lackey at a used auto auction so he could have been eyeing the BMWs that come up and decided they should buy one. God knows it’s easy to influence Susan. I think the car was mostly his doing. Driving a BMW makes him feel important, like a BIG man and we all know Cory’s got major issues in that Dept. He feels fancy going from Seattle homeless bum to driving a used BMW in Cali. (Even if it’s on the backs of two disabled kids and welfare checks).

It was a stupid purchase for ppl so broke they dropped health insurance coverage because even if they got it cheap the upkeep, parts and maintenance on German cars is way more expensive than most cars in the USA.

It’s true that Susan seems too manic to care about status symbols or being presentable outside of her own personal narcissism. (Susan trying to look appealing to men is her only concern). If she had the slightest inkling of trying for respectability she wouldn’t parade her kids out in public in filthy clothes and matted disheveled hair, nor would she showcase an apartment so gross that most white trash would hesitate to claim it.

I kind of wish Susan did at least try for a modicum of middle class respectability because if she did she’d clean her apt, clean up her kids and want them well behaved. Any middle class mom would be horrified if their kids were drooling, over medicated zombies or misbehaved and threw tantrums in public.

Susan happily traded any pretense of respectability for more attention and MBP abuse fifteen years ago.

Yeah, Medicaid patients have extremely low (<$20) or $0 copays. Usually the latter. This is theoretically to "encourage use of preventative services" and so "patients don't hesitate to seek care until dire" but irl it means Medicaid patients can go to the ED if they want a show, heat for a few hours, and perhaps a a free meal and shower. This becomes more acute with the lack of specialists/GPs taking Medicaid patients (since they have little incentive to) with its poor reimbursement. In contrast, EDs don't have the same privilege of selecting who they provide care to. Can't you imagine Susan yelling at the ED doc "I NEED CLOZARIL AND THORAZINE BECAUSE THERE ARE NO PSYCHIATRISTS IN CA THAT ACCEPT MY INSURANCE!!!!!" (The latter part of that is probably correct. I checked ZocDoc 2-3 days ago and couldn't find a psychiatrist in CA that accepted Medicaid...) Then driving back to her hovel in that "great deal!" BMW. *eye roll.* There's a lot wrong with the US's healthcare system, and this is a small part of it.

Isn't the Medicaid/government health insurance patient abuse of the emergency room kind of the reason the ER costs so much for everyone who is self-pay or who has private insurance? /off topic

Not directly, but maybe indirectly. The ED is just really expensive care because they can charge whatever they want and still have overflowing waiting rooms, since they have to under law (EMTALA-- https://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Legislation/EMTALA/) see anyone. EDs would still overflow even without Medicaid and self-pay patients though, because there are a lot of legit reasons someone would need care at 3am (say, heart attack or going into labor). It's expensive staffing the ED 24/7, and hospitals like to buy fancy equipment, so admins will treat the ED like their piggy bank. There's a dip in voluntary surgeries this month? They can re-coup that by upping common charges on ED bills (aka $500 aspirin), because those patients don't usually have the luxury of shopping around for cheaper care. Private insurers want to make sure their patients are incentivized to only go to the ED if they really need it, since the care is so expensive for the insurance company to pay for. Nobody would go at midnight for "weight loss" with a $150 ED copay, which isn't an atypical amount.

Small side note/off-topic: AFAIK BMWs are known to have a rather high upkeep in comparison with other cars, even here in Germany. So buying a BMW was indeed a stupid purchase if you cannot afford the upkeep etc., especially if you can't afford other (and more important) costs like insurance for the kids.

And I'm sorry for asking, but I'm not familiar with the US judicial system: Can't Michael do something about Susan restricting and/or prohibiting Jani's phone use?
I mean it's a great starter that she said something about these lines in front of CPS, but we will see what will be the results of this :optimistic:

There's a lot of things Michael can do about Susan's blatant court order violations, but doing so requires paying a lawyer and going back to court, since the police is likely to be unhelpful.

Not to mention doing something would require him to actually be actively involved more than coming for a two day visit to attend an appointment and then fly home the next day. Like I get that Amy is having Shiny New Baby and that Michael has an established life in Minnesota and everything, and I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but come ON. He's dropping the ball on the life he left in California so hard here. If I were having a conversation with my daughter in which she were telling me about potentially abusive behavior (and I say potentially to be generous towards S&C, though I don't know why) and suddenly that phone call was terminated and I was unable to reach her for the rest of the night, you can bet my ass would be on a plane, train, Greyhound bus, or in my car barreling down the highway to get to her as soon as possible. He's well aware that what's happening to Jani and Bodhi has gone far beyond acceptable and it's great that DCFS is now involved and Bodhi has been removed from medication (for as long as that lasts, and Susan has already violated the order..what is being done about that?). However, there is so much going on that reaches beyond that. These kids need help and they need it months ago. Hell, Jani needed it before anyone started entertaining the schizophrenic infant idea and stuffing droppers full of Benadryl down her infantile throat. Susan and Cory are monsters, Michael's a pansy and a cuck who is barely doing enough to constitute making an effort, the kids are better off in a group home or RTC.
I'm sorry, I'm not mad on the internet, I just feel like expecting Michael to do something about Susan taking J's phone touches on the concept of honestly expecting Michael to really do...anything extraordinary at this point.

It's not really as simple as barreling back up to California and taking the kids, though. With the way custody works in the state, he can't just take them home with him without Susan being able to charge him with kidnapping and would set everything back.

As much as we all want him to man up and do something, it can't be instantaneous. He can maybe push to sue for custody of the kids but even that takes time and resources.

I was just thinking about if Susan and Cory are ever arrested...Please tell me that they live in LA County. Cory would end up in LA Men's Central Jail, right??? Or Twin Towers. Lol. That would be JUSTICE.

Probably Santa Clarita Jail, and the trial would probably take place around there or in the Valley, if I had to guess.

Also, Michael's Vanity MFA program costs around $25k with tuition and fees (ETA: so roughly $50k for two years), not including transportation to the mandatory residencies.

So please keep that in mind when whiteknighting Michael: The man who says traveling to CA is "too expensive" (I see $100-150 flights on Spirit and Southwest to LAX or Burbank) will willingly drop tens of thousands of dollars on a Creative Writing MFA from a hippy dippy school. The man who says he has "no time" to visit and has to "care for Amy" has no issue fucking off to Vermont for a week or two several times a year to LARP as a "writer." Travel to Vermont isn't exactly cheap either. He chose Bennington over Jani and Bodhi, over hiring a lawyer, over making visits longer than 72 hours.

This might be a dumb q cos I don't have kids, but wouldn't any 11 year old have difficulty getting to sleep in the same room as two adults moving around, talking, watching telly?

Bearing in mind coming off these meds will have switched all Bodhi's senses to ON as his brain scrambles for equilibrium, it's a miracle he can sleep in that situation at all. That and the fact Jani doesn't wake up to urinate are, to me, indicators of just how doped up they are. Bohdi shouldn't be able to get to sleep at all - he's never had a bedtime routine and he's just expected to sleep on cue whilst they carry on around him. It's pure mental.

Secondly, Jani wetting the bed should set off some really serious alarm bells. Either she's too drugged or it's a bodily reaction to extreme stress but I hope to god it's not just being filed away under "meh" like so much of this seems to be.

Finally, do we know if depots have ever been suggested? It would take the control of these hideous meds out of Susan's demented hands and I don't understand why, if Jani is "stable on her meds" (grrrrrr) she's not on monthly depots anyway because a) more consistent and b) less aggro. Susan's reaction to even the suggestion could tell medics all they need to know. Michael, this is a hint....find out about depots. Now.

Of course he can't just go and snatch the kids away from Susan. But he should've been on the phone with the Valencia cops within seconds of Susan taking Jani's phone away, telling them how his daughter had been describing potential abuse and then was cut off by his ex-wife, demanding a welfare check. He should have been on the phone with DCFS first thing the next morning describing the same situation and demanding they intervene. Right after that he should have started calling around for a lawyer to represent him and enforce his rights as the father of his children. Hell, he should have hired that lawyer years ago. If he can afford to throw away 25 grand a year on a fucking creative writing degree of all things, he can sure as shit come up with the money to save his children from his abusive ex-wife.

Michael helped create this shit show, then he peaced out when he'd had enough and greener pastures beckoned his pecker. Now, I don't blame him for moving thousands of miles away from Susan; if he'd stayed in California she'd make his life hell, no argument. But in the process he abandoned his children, because it was easier for the coward to let Susan have her way than to go the distance for his kids. He uses the fact he's "established a new life in Minnesota" to defend his actions, but the flat-out truth is simply that leaving his kids behind was more convenient for Michael. He could have his shiny new life, bang his shiny new wife, and make the shiny new baby without having his past mistakes get in the way demanding attention and care. Now years of abuse have passed--years Jani and Bodhi will never get back and probably can't recover from--and still the best Michael can manage is showing up for a weekend twice or so a year while lamenting about his situation to our Kiwi leaks.

I do believe Michael cares for his kids to some degree. However, I don't believe he loves them enough to fight the good fight for their sake. Dumping all his financial resources into a vanity degree instead of ensuring their welfare proves to me he loves himself far more than he ever has Jani or Bodhi. And that's fucking tragic.
