Infected r/KotakuinAction & their ResetERA, r/KotakuInAction2 (KiA) - Hypocritical Pedo Weeaboo Gamergate Cucks in Action

I finally finished the core of KotakuInAction's article today for the wiki. Feel free to add it to the topic.

Covering it, however, has made me realize something terribly depressing:

KiA's users are united in their distastes and something vaguely resembling a sense of community, but... That's it. Various individuals and tiny cliques on KiA ally and deal with each other, and usually most agree to keep some level of order, but this breaks down entirely when shit hits the fan, since the various users on KiA tend to see these less of a case of Chungus being Chungus and more of an internecine conflict firing up again. Take your fucking sides, Nancy, it's yet another fucking incident trying to rip KiA apart for the fifty five billionth fucking time.

Thus you wind up in the surreal situation you see now, where half of KiA points out the obvious, and the other half rallies to the defense of someone who is clearly irredeemable. It honestly makes me understand what the fuck the appeal of the hugbox subreddits is.

It gets worse when you remember how often someone they've actually put trust in had some gigantic fucking meltdown that makes them fucking irredeemable and someone who can no longer be discussed in the community anymore. Pretty much every major "big name" in GG has gone on to become a gigantic fucking asshole who is just as guilty of awful shit as the opposite side. They're stuck in a perpetual siege mentality that they can't ever escape because every time they've ever put their trust in anyone, they gotten fucked all over again. And while on some level, it can be argued that they deserve it for putting their trust in who they did to begin with, they didn't begin with a hell of a lot of choice.

tbh I think the constant fighting, be it against SJWs or themselves, is therapeutic for them. I think they just need to be at war with something, constantly. A lot of them admit they barely fuck with videogames anymore,and I think it's because they're way more invested in internet slapfighting and aren't terribly concern about the topic that sets the fight off to begin with.

God, didn't you guys get the memo? Everyone knows reeeeing over 2D lolis is way more important than calling out actual real life crimes.

Really though, it's been very obvious for years now that anyone still getting involved in this mess - whether they align with the left or the right - is far less concerned with actually promoting "ethics" and "free speech". They'd much rather keep up their perpetual dick measuring contest with whatever side of the political spectrum they hate.

As someone who was originally a hardcore sjw and then swivelled right round to hardcore anti-sjw before chilling the hell out in my late teens, it became clear that both sides were very disingenuous. They both sperg over the other side doing very questionable practices, while simultaneously sweeping all the shady things their "leaders" do under the rug. Time and time again, both sides have shown that many people involved with GamerGate who were even the slightest bit influential have some pretty major skeletons in their closets. But they ignore this in favor of hand-flapping over "muh cis white men/libtards".

I also find it amusing that so many GamerGaters go on and on about liberals being "easily offended snowflakes" (which, to be fair, is true for a lot of them), while acting the exact same way. They have absolutely no self-awareness.

Self awareness is not KIA's problem. KIA is self aware. That's honestly what makes them even more frustrating.

That's very unfortunate, but I suppose that's what happens when you revolve a huge part of your political "activism" around a movement that's been dead for years.
