If the worst Vic has done is kiss some teens on the cheek without their consent at a convention, I don't think this will really be the end of him. As far as I know, he hasn't been charged with anything. He just needs to stop being a creepy old dude. The entertainment industry is filled with people who've done horrible shit and have come back from it. Anime dubs don't even have the actors record together, so it's not like he has to be in the same room as the actors freaking out on Twitter. Ok, so here's the thing:

When people are defending people who are accused of doing bad things, those people are NOT condoning or supporting the allegedly bad things (most of the time, anyway). They are merely saying that the people they are defending are not guilty (that we know of) of doing the alleged things.

If people were truly defending rape and sexual assault, don't you think that more people would say "I don't care what this guy did because I'm a fan"?

I think that the people defending Vic Mignogna are making some pretty fucking valid points for everyone to consider, and none of those points they are making entail that they are OK with sexual assault. Jesus.

Honestly, if the worst thing that Vic is guilty of is crossing boundaries by hugging people and kissing them on the cheeks ... Then I don't think he needs to be thrown into the fire. If that's all that really happened, then Mignogna can now realize that not everyone is as outgoing or as comfortable with affection. Of the videos I've seen of Mignogna being affectionate with fans, I don't see any incriminating evidence of him flat-out "assaulting" underage girls. Let's just say that I'm not exactly getting "Creepy Uncle Joe Biden" vibes from those videos.

I am still keeping the stories I've heard years and years ago in my mind, though. I can't just forget that a lot of these rumors about Vic have been going around for a very long time-- long before he fully got #MeToo'd a couple of weeks ago.
