Horrorcow Susan Schofield Cabana, Cory Cabana, & Michael Schofield / Schofield Productions / @bipolarnation - A Tragicomic Tale of Psychiatric Munchausen's by Proxy

. She has without a doubt either A) convinced herself that Dr. Phil is going to 100% back her up on her decisions to over-medicate her children to death, or B) is working up some narrative of her own that she plans to present to Dr. Phil and the audience where its everyone's fault but her own in order to stir up sympathy from both.

It's probably both. Be prepared for her to switch gears and start screeching about how it was a setup and Phil is a filthy liar.

People like Susan go on that show truly believing that they're in the right. People like Michael, who are also attention seeking and cowardly, go on that show to let that person dig their own grave and just provide testimony here and there to help. Susan should have done her research before signing on. H's definitely not the same guy who would watch Jani misbehave and then talk to her mother about how hard her life must be with a kid that sick.. This is going to be nothing short of an evisceration.

Phil is vicious and gives absolutely no quarter when it comes to kids being abused by their parents, especially when it comes to MPB and general attention seeking behavior. He also usually comes down hard on step-parents overstepping their bounds and respects the biological parent's authority above all else. Cory is not going to have a good time on the show. The ideas he has about getting rich and profiting off of this are going to be crushed relatively quickly when Phil tears into him about how they've been trying to deny Michael his basic parental rights and telling the kids that he doesn't love them.

And with regard to watching the episode, clips and highlights are uploaded daily to the Dr. Phil youtube channel. It's usually the full segment, just in bite-sized chunks for that extra ad revenue. I cannot imagine this one not ending up on there.

Batshit is still pushing for meds. And more of her friends are suspicious of Dr Shill (mods delete if already posted)

Edit: I posted in the wrong order. Tech dinosaur here.
No Susan, there is no right combo of these drugs! Especially for a child. You are a fucking cunt! Why dont you take them? Play around with combos and doses on yourself...but no, only your children have to put up with that bullshit.

Susan really believes the "juicy" part of the story is that those dang doctors won't let Bodheeeeee have his meds. I've never wanted to watch a Dr. Phil so bad in my life.
Me too! Cannot wait for this to air.

I'm trying to keep up. Things are moving very fast here today. Can we talk about how over the top ridiculous Dr. Phil is with Jani in this clip??? She is clearly an out of control hyper kid who knows she can control the conversation and never be corrected for her blatantly rude behavior. Phil asks her a question, she talks about what she wants to gain control, and rather than redirect her to what He asked her, he just lets her do her thing.

So then, she TELLS them she's going to go find the dog & just goes. Nobody tells her to sit down or stop. They just act like only a psycho would have terrible social skills and rude behavior. Phil's all, "she wandered off & did what she wanted" like, clearly the voice are guiding her. I mean, jesus! What if someone had acted like an adult & told her to sit her ass down? They don't even try: an assistant just brings her exactly what she wanted, further reinforcing her impression that she is perpetually in charge of everyone around her. It's disgusting.

And Susan is just sitting there with that smug face. Loving every second of it. Really, truly enjoying herself. Fam, she was proud of that spoiled little brat that she created.

This new episode is gonna be some real Must See Tv.
Agree 100%. When our kids ignored us, we corrected them by saying you do not have a choice here. You have to enforce the rules. No one does that with Jani or Bodhi. They do not have boudaries. No clue why Dr Phil let her act that way.

Lol, this ought to be good.

When you're so insane that your ex calls talk show hosts to complain about you.

I like that she was so unprepared for this, and agreed so quickly.

I'm getting more optimistic the more she types...I think Susan used to have more of an ability to look normal on these shows, but I think that ship has sailed. This is going to be a shitshow. :optimistic:

Just pausing for a moment during the turn of events... watching the old DR Phil just triggered a question in my mind...In jani's :"hallucinations"...which came first the number 400 or the cat...did she name the cat 400? if so why did she select numbers for her "friends"... did her friends tell her they were named numbers? Did the cat meow or talk?...etc etc etc..

Not that I can speak for all mental health professionals and all psychotics at once, but I've never once seen anyone with real psychosis i.e psychotic depression, bipolar w/ psychotic features, schizophrenia/schizoaffective interact with friendly dogs and cats the way Jani does.
It's always sinister rats and bugs and such. If a large proportion of psychotics saw cute and cuddly animal friends, the world of mental illness would be a better place. But unfortunately, we don't.

I think Jani's schizophrenia diagnosis is not only a very solid diagnosis for how she apparently acted at that age, but at this point I think it's set in stone.
Months of unadulterated access to her behavior and professionals figuring out how she operates, in UCLA, without Susan to coach her 24/7, plus DeAntonio and not some idiot doctor shopped quack doing the diagnosing, Phil really won't question it even this time round.

I think the episode will definitely center on Bodhi and general overmedication as anyone can see that kid isn't schizophrenic at all and doesn't need fucking clozapine.

Jani's diagnosis, we can debate, but as far as the medical professionals are concerned, is here to stay. Although her medication should definitely be toned down. I know adult institutionalized schizos who aren't on half what she's on.

I've gone back and forth on this a couple of times. First and foremost, a question:

Other than a single tv doctor (whose blooper reel had him ask the producers how long she'd been diagnosed). Do we actually know FOR SURE that Jani really was diagnosed specifically as schizophrenic during her inpatient stays?

Reading the books, it was clear that Susan was labelling both kids with the schizophrenia diagnosis long before any professional ever did.

Is it possible that a doctor or two might have smiled and nodded, and let Susan call it that, while actually submitting diagnostic codes for general psychosis or whatever? (Especially if they know her history of doctor shopping. A senitive clinician might recognize that stability for the kids might come from indulging the mom just a little.) How do we know that there truly is a consensus on her diagnosis?

I posted links a few days ago from a blogger who recognized Jani as appearing to have synesthesia, specifically a form called ordinal-linguistic personification. ["in which ordered sequences, such as ordinal numbers, days, months and letters are associated with personalities and/or genders" -- sound familiar??]

I knew of someone where autism and synesthesia were co-occurring.

Now as to the threatening nature of hallucinations... There ARE a set of people who have non-threatening hallucination, they just aren't as likely to seek out medical attention for them. I found another blog looking for early Jani stuff, and came across this:

https://www.madinamerica.com/2013/0...se-to-a-father-my-daughter-the-schizophrenic/

"Recent large-scale population (epidemiological) studies have shown that about 4-10 % of the adult population hear voices at some time in their lives [3-5]. Only about a third seek assistance from mental health services."

Susan- “I have to keep going over it in my head so it comes out right”

Hmmm, generally when something is factual you’d only need to tell the story, only when it’s being altered or potentially fabricated/scripted would one need to memorise and get it straight in their head!

This is going to be insanely messy!

Fuck, I've been off for like three days and the thread blew up like hell! I really hope that Dr. Phil episode will air in my country, gotta look that up. If not, I hope somebody on here sees it and can come here telling us about it.

Also kudos to Kelli for being brave enough to come on here and share her story!

Maybe it's just that Susan's always been cracking, and she's always getting worse, but her typing's making it look to me like she's starting to feel Dr. Phil was a mistake.
I don't think he peddles as much woo-woo and obvious parental abuse as a Daytime TV host or Oprah-typed person.

Sorry to double post- but if they've already interviewed Jani and she reported any child abuse on video, what might happen?

I unfortunately can't answer that question for you, but I don't think Jani reported any abuse. Not while Harpy and Creep are nearby. Maybe they taught her what to say beforehand.

That's why I am also disgruntled about this whole thing - instead of hiring a lawyer, Michael contacts TV producers. Fuck your fame hungry being. I can't feel optimistic that this whole thing will make everything better for the kids.

Also, about Bodhi and possible autism (and yes, this is late and obvious and so on and so forth): it doesn't have to be autism or the drugs. Kids who don't get interacted with and cared for often develop an autism-like state of being. Like, they never learn to express themselves properly. They never learn how to interact properly, they don't learn social rules or how to read social cues and so on.

Have you seen any of all those documentaries about kids in orphanages? They don't talk, they don't interact, they might have weird mannerisms. Eventually it all comes down to neglect. Just putting that out there, obvious and all.

Dr Phil's right hand man
Charles Sophy
The medical director of the LA DCFS

Screech can totally ask to bring DCFS to the Dr. Phil show now to discuss Jani's IEP and ClozaREEEEEEE
they're behind you 100% ... I mean, they have you surrounded.

Oh, SHIT!!! I had no idea Sophy worked with DCFS. Susan is done. She is the living embodiment of all those fables where the cunning predator convinces the trusting little animal to march happily right into its mouth.
:lit:

Imagine being so enamoured with yourself that you believe you could hijack the topic of a talk show from your questionable parenting to Meds for All, Evil Selfish Doctors, The System, Meds, Suicide, REEEE!!! She's going to get her ass handed to her in an unimaginably humiliating fashion and the repercussions are going to be very far reaching.

But my favorite part is how they're planning to pitch her show. Oh, god, I hope they get some footage of her telling the producers about how much Dr. Phil is going to LOOOVE LA Psych.

what I saw in the videos, is that the most significant "symptom" of schizophrenia were the hallucinations, I never actually saw other symptoms, erratic behaviour or speech? not so much, no more than any other 6 year old, more if they're somewhat autistic or gifted (as S and M had claimed).
For me, it was just a misdiagnosed, and since Susan liked it, she kept it (many parents would had gone for a second, or third opinion), but she knew that diagnosis was the one she needed.

I seriously doubt Jani will report anything negative, but, remember Dr. Phil met her when she had brain cells. He can watch his old tapes and remember what his interactions with her were like. It doesn't matter what sunshine and rainbows Screech & Creepy coach Jani to parrot back, her current state would NEVER have come about if she hadn't had her brain melted by overdoses. There is no one with a typical, moderate stable mind that can see the decline of these kids as anything short of abuse.

This show is familiar with parents coaching kids. They will find a way to talk to Jani alone. And they will know how to work with her without upsetting her.

I think Michael is hoping that Dr. Phil will shill out some resources to help the kids. He can't think this a magic solution, but if nothing happens except that the LA DCFS medical director publicly acknowledges that something bad is happening to the kids, things will change. Sophy lives for his asspats, too. He's not going down for somebody like Susan.

i hate it when she talks about how god is by her side, how god knows all, when there is no benevolent god in that house, only a Malevolent one whos name is Susan schofield-cabana.

apart from that, i hope dearly that the producers take Jani seriously and not chalk up everything to pSychOsIs , when she (hopefully) starts talking abojt all the awfull things that are happening in that house

I really don't want a fucking Dr Phil appearance during a CPS investigation, but what can you do. Here's hoping that some good will be done, but I'm not too optimistic. Michael, your narcissistic need for fame is gross. You should have just got a fucking lawyer.

Thank you for sharing your story, Kelli. That takes balls of steel.

The further exploitation of the kids for the parent’s fixation on TV attention is bad for the kids, but will fantastic day time TV fodder.

"Recent large-scale population (epidemiological) studies have shown that about 4-10 % of the adult population hear voices at some time in their lives [3-5]. Only about a third seek assistance from mental health services."

A psych resident at UCLA was the doctor who finally gave the COS Dx to Jani after years of Susan’s lobbying and behavior coaching. Sadly doctors will back up other doctors they work with instead of correct them so once she had the label she was golden. (Even though it was obvious other doctors at UCLA thought Susan was the problem)

As for you last comment “hearing voices” is very different and much more common than the visual hallucinations that Susan claimed Jani has. Visual hallucinations aren’t even that common among adult schizophrenic whereas hearing voices/audio hallucinations are quite common.

Susan has a totally inaccurate idea about schizophrenia. She seemed to think people talking to themselves meant they were seeing someone/something to talk to, when the were simply hearing voices.

Visual hallucinations actual schizophrenics report are somewhat uncommon and usually quite brief and simple. Examples are shadows, bugs, spiders, seeing a fleeting glimpse of someone/something, powder in the air or on objects they think is poison, imagining angry or grotesque looks from people they encounter, etc... are common reported visual hallucinations. Susan encourages Jani to walk around like she was Snow White talking to imaginary animal friends that she encouraged her to give detailed descriptions of.

Susan seems to mix up schizophrenia with descriptions of LSD trips. (The whole insane rant she posted about the death of Eric Claptons son jumping out a window and “thinking you can fly” equals schizophrenia is actually old anti-LSD propaganda that was highly publicized in the early 1970s. It circulated at the right time to make a big impression on Susan as a kid. It stemmed from a story about the death Diane Linkletter (daughter of celebrity Art Linkletter) falling out a window in Hollywood after taking LSD. Every middle class parent in the USA told their kid the story for years to scare them away from taking acid.)

Susan enouraged Jani to perform an inaccurate fantasy version of schizophrenia and it is stunning any doctor believed it. Jani has a very active and vivid imagination which Susan encouraged her to treat as real and expand upon it. The auditory and visua hallucinations most schizophrenics experience are almost always terrifying and inspire severe paranoia. Whereas Jani seemed to be having a grand time playing with all her hallucinations. It was totally absurd when compared to symptoms of actual schizophrenia.
