I watch a lot of Dr. Phil. Not because I’m a fan of the man but because it’s a guilty pleasure of mine. So I can predict with a high degree of certainty that Susan and Michael won’t be portrayed as insane, abusive or MbP. Instead, he’ll make them out to be overwhelmed, albeit a tad clueless, burned-out parents who are definitely overdoing it on the medication front but mainly because they’re out of their depth. He’ll touch on Susan’s attention-seeking behavior and shame Corey for being on the show for the money. Then he’ll proclaim that the only reason he’s doing the show is because he has the best interest of the children at heart and pat himself on the back for it.


But the bottom line won’t be that Susan and Michael neglected their own mental health issues and chose to drug their children into a stupor instead of parenting them. He’ll ask Susan if she’s overmedicating them and she’ll go NO I GIVE THEM EXACTLY WHAT THEIR DR PRESCRIBES I WOULD NEVER!!!! In fact, if upon bringing up on one of the screens the list of Jani and Bodhi’s meds he doesn’t utter the phrase “I understand, you don’t go to the doctor to NOT listen to them!” I’ll eat my hat.


The good thing though, and it’s a really really good thing, is that Sophy won’t go so easy on the adults (especially Susan) and that the kids will get a chance to be evaluated at the PNP Center. He won’t report them, he’ll just threaten to do so if they don’t agree to accept his help (because he’s a mandated reporter, in case you forgot… it’s not like he says it every episode). What happens after that, there’s no guarantee of.

Btw Dr. Phil doesn’t air in my country either, so when the time comes I can provide links to those of you who said you wanted to see this episode.

Realistically the kids have already lost. There’s no good outcome from this situation that will result in two functional adults that are self sufficient and happy. These kids are broken and the best we can hope for is that they get intensive detox and therapies so that maybe they can live in an assisted living facility or group home.

After reading this thread, this is my fear and what saddens me the most. Even if this Munchausens monster has her kids forcibly removed, she possibly already gave them a chemical lobotomy and has definitely fucked up their development to the point it's doubtful they'll become functional adults. And that is a terrible tragedy.

There isn't really an ideal scenario for her losing the kids either. Michael is an attention-whoring piece of shit and helped start this process, so you hope they don't turn to him. It goes without saying that Cory isn't an option and needs to fucking disappear like the useless leeching ratfuck he is. That means the foster system is sadly the best option, which is an improvement since they'd no longer have someone actively trying to kill them with meds for internet asspats. But special needs kids in foster care are probably in for a rough road.

Fuck, this story makes me hope every parent or pseudo-parent that has failed these kids dies a slow, agonizing death when they go.

Not so much with talk shows, because they rarely compete for guests, but among the big network news shows one of the ways they can get around the big “never pay for a story” journalism rule is via buying the “rights” to family photos or videos. So they aren’t paying for the interview or the story but for “exculsive photo rights.”

Every time some big crime story breaks and a victim/family decides which show to do a big factor is how much the show pays for the rights to their photos and the paid expenses trip and which hotel they get put up at and for how long and the amount of the per diem

Susan might get a few hundred for the rights to some “exclusive” videos of the kids the show will air. (Stuff that’s just like all the other crap on YT) but maybe not since they are so eager to be on the show and think it’s free promotion for the YT chance. Once the production team has picked out any video they might want to air Susan will put that aside and then go back to posting videos.

This is an opportunity for Phil to redeem himself, properly address the abuse to the children, offer support, also sever ties with this story appropriately and with a clear conscience (IMO). Someone has to stop this runaway train and honestly if this isn’t addressed on the show and something goes on to happen to one of the children, his career would end. Susan sounds like more of a person in those videos than she has in the past two years. There's affection for her kids there, or at least the illusion of it. It's really eerie.

Kelli, Dr. Phil knows how to contact you. This is not going to be the “attack Cory for decades old parenting mistakes” show, so they are unlikely to reach out. She’s admitted she’s never met the Schofields and that’s what the show is about. So although the fact that Cory said he hoped to make money is interesting, it’s been passed on, and I don’t think they’ll want anythingg else. (I also wouldn’t show this dr. Phil to your kids but you probably know that).

I hope they don’t green screen them again and act like they live in a middle class home instead of a junk yard. But I suspect that most of the videos will be ones of Bofhi taken by Susan, and then Susan and Michael answering in studio. The topic will be over medication and arguing, not munchie stuff, like I said before.

That will likely make Susan feel invincible and give her freedom to continue. Dr Phil will have fucked these kids twice with his big Texas Dick.

Fact is, through, we don’t know. Hope I’m wrong.

For our friends who don’t have a way of watching, I’ll be happy to use my phone to record. The quality will be meh but it’s better than nothing. Then I’ll need a place to put it. I won’t name it Dr Phil, trying to get it to last for a while, but we can talk about how best to do it then. I’m sure there are others more technically able then me, which is fine, I just wanted to offer if it came down to a low tech way of doing it.

It’s tragic- Bodhi seems soft spoken, polite and just playful. It enrages me that she put him in a chemical straightjacket and essentially erased his obvious beautiful qualities. I don't think Bodhi ever had the "brat-spark" that Jani had at that age. I don't know if it was because he was too autistic or if it was just his nature but he seemed like an all-around sweet and gentle kid that just had really bad meltdowns when triggered. There was no reason to medicate him at all. Jani I could maybe see needing some form of mild anxiety meds or something to help her focus. But even then at worst we're talking very low doses. Neither kids deserved having their bodies and brains being permanently fucked up. It was so needless and wrong on so many levels.
