Diseased TV Tropes community

If the object of your lust can't even talk back, either reflect on your life or neck yourself.

In S1E04, when Pikachu said, "Pika-pi!" he was totally asking for it, that little slut!

The Always Sunny pages are slightly better than I expected, but seeing the Gang described with "villain tropes" is so fucking surreal

I didn't read the page, but I'm pretty sure Dennis could get a few villain tropes assigned to him legitimately.

On the Married... With Children section of the Harsher in Hindsight page:

  • In "Peggy Sue Got Work", Peggy gets a job in a department store to earn money for a VCR after Al refuses to buy her one. While working, she overhears a customer talking about Oprah doing a whole week on "Transsexuals: Which Bathroom Should They Use?" No longer funny after 2016 when this very issue became a national controversy.

Nope, still funny.

Or Latin America.

Dear god, Latin American tropers.
that also reminds me, there's always this in the cartoon trivia pages
on the Malaysian dub, it was this; it broadcasted on this network here in maylasia instead of nickelodeon
or whatever.

like who the fuck cares about Malaysia?

You thought a wholesome cartoon like Tiny Toons was safe from “muh values dissonance”? You’re dead wrong.

  • Buster and Babs, as well as several other characters, deployed the 'cross-dressing for comedy' gag that was used a lot in the Looney Tunes era. While this was considered harmless and funny in the 90s, growing awareness of the LGBTQ+ community can make a lot of these gags come off as downright offensive to them.

If you get offended by Tiny Toons of all things, then you are fucking pathetic.

Eventually all pop culture made before circa 2008 will be considered offensive by tropers. If you're going to look for something wrong with culture you're gonna find it.Even 'woke' culture made before 2008 they'll find something wrong with it.Either the characters are too white/not using the right words/too laid back when it comes to serious issues. The real scary part is that this kind of thinking has started to dominate large portions of the political elite in some states and the law of averages says that eventually one of them will gain power.

I don't know if anyone's talked about this page but the Funny Aneurysm page has weird examples;

How would you jump to that conclusion? There are other ones too but this one left me scratching my head.
I'm pretty sure they only called it that because 2006 just happened to be a short time after Katrina. If I didn't know any better, I would say this is almost satire of dumb uses of Funny Aneurysm Moments, but given this is TV Tropes, the guy writing it is probably sincere.

A past event that's unfortunate in the present.
It's also supposed to have been funny at the time.

I think the name is from the newslady who had an aneurysm on live TV and just starting spouting complete gibberish while looking utterly baffled. It provokes an immediate funny reaction, but in hindsight, it was pretty awful.

What the fuck is a funny aneurysm?

It's supposed to be when something supposed to be really serious happens but is actually funny.

Back when people actually knew what the fuck it was, the main example would be the literal aneurysm Nate had in Six Feet Under when he was talking when it hit and tried to say "numb arm" and then gargled "NARM!" before keeling over. This was supposed to be serious but the scene was inappropriately hilarious instead.

That Blues Brothers example is not one. It would be a Harsher in Hindsight or some other autistic trope.
