Apex Legends - "Titanfall 3? No. Here, get a Battle Royale instead."

So far, here are my bullet points for having the most fun in this game.

- If you solo matchmake, and don't have a headset, there is a VoIP to text chat feature on both PC and consoles that is so much better than trying to hear from a TV or speaker.
- Use the fucking ping system.
- Shotguns are OP as hell.
- Don't splinter off from teammates. It's the fastest way to end up getting shot to death.
- Throw fucking grenades for once.

Also, a bit of lore about the gay characters there's only two, and one of them is such a fucking cop out to call them gay that it's really dumb.

Basically, Bloodhound is like the TF2 Pyro, nobody really knows what the fuck it is.
Bloodhound is known across the Outlands as one of the greatest game hunters the Frontier has ever seen – and that’s about all anyone knows. Their identity is a mystery wrapped in layers of rumors: they are fabulously wealthy, a bloodthirsty murderer, a Goliath whisperer, a former slave, half bat, and a dozen other things depending on who’s doing the whispering.

All anyone truly knows is that Bloodhound is a force to be reckoned with in the Apex Games. Bloodhound’s unparalleled tracking skills are a boon to any team they join, helping them root out hidden opponents and tracking the enemy’s movements. Calling on Earth’s Old Norse Gods to guide them, Bloodhound believes that destiny is a path that has already been laid out, eventually carrying all to their death. But with that knowledge comes strength, because until that day comes, Bloodhound knows they can’t be stopped.

So really, if we wanna give Bloodhound the title of LGBT, we gotta give it to the Pyro in TF2 and the Assassin in Monday Night Combat.

The other is the Hawaiian dude who should have been voiced by the guy who played the Tank in Monday Night Combat.

Did Respawn say they're not working on Titanfall 3?

Did Respawn say they're not working on Titanfall 3?

Articles claim it's not in the works. So, I guess?

They're too busy working on a Disney Wars game.

Actually.

Update: On a call reporting Q3 financial results for EA, the company said it plans to introduce a “premium” Titanfall experience — which likely means a traditional, non-free-to-play game — later this year and that it will be a “twist” on the franchise. No additional details were revealed.

Is anyone else concerned about the way this game shot onto the market with no hype, no marketing, and hardly any word of mouth?

People need to stop falling for this stuff, and need to stop letting these games pay their way to the front of the line. I'm glad this game is being decently received, but I wish people would acknowledge a clear viral marketing campaign.

They're using Twitch streamers and Youtubers exclusively to market the game because they were the root of PUBG's success, and clearly it's worked. You also have to keep in mind that they only sponsored most of the "influencers" for launch day and they've been playing freely since, which is how it's meant to work: You generate an initial hype wave and then everyone latches onto it while it's trendy to boost their own popularity.

They've had more than enough lead time to assess the battle royale trend and see what makes it work, so I'm not surprised they went this route. It's arguably the best marketing strategy.

Respawn is owned by EA now, that alone gets a "pass" from me, eventually EA is going to ruin it, better not get invested.

Reminds me a lot of how Discord came into the scene, I swear one moment people would commonly refer to Teamspeak or Ventrilo as a way to communicate with each other when it comes to clans or getting together for some banter and then suddenly Discord comes in and now it's the norm.

Discord masqueraded as a small startup when in reality it was a corporate trojan horse.

This is just people tired of Fortnite, a fad game with barely any new content.

Fortnite isn't going to get toppled by another Battle Royale, not when it's the prime 12 year old kid game. Hell, Minecraft still gets 70+ million players a month.

Streamers will move to whatever the big fad is, but there's a ton of money in pandering to what the 12 year olds like.

Right now it's barren. No solo or duos, only a few characters, server issues at the max and just boring to play. A friend recommended me this game despite how much I don't like this genre thing is that we already have CoD Black Out and this game feels to similar while also having little to do with Titanfall.

My favourite part of this is how blatantly obvious this is an EA project through and through. Built dirt cheap, ticks every BR box by having the Gay characters to push the Overwatch crowd towards it, cute taunts to nab the Fortniters and realistic graphics to pull in the remains of the PUBG crowd.

Because they know how badly the EA brand has been tainted and its fucked with the stock prices they've also sent marketing people into Respawn to handle the press side of things and pretend it's definitely not an EA project and pretend Daddy Corporate is not involved in the world's most obvious fucking box tick exercise.

Just like back in the day with Bioware too, nearly all discussion is being handled by the PR people and the studio head folks. Remember when they did that for Mass Effect 2 and 3 despite the fact the gameplay was cut to the bone on EA's insistence?

I've just seen a bunch of fanboys pretend to be tone deaf to the fact that Respawn has made the same statement as Bioware and EA Corporate did on Anthem, that they want these games to still be played heavily in ten years time.

The fact that it's working for these guys is what annoys me the most, EA deserves to burn but they still have enough talented slaves on hand to put out the good games right when the crisis point hits hard.

You know I can't stand the influx of battle royale games that have been releasing, when I first saw Apex Legends announced I rolled my eyes and said "ANOTHER battle royale???" but after people wouldn't leave me the fuck alone about it and seeing it on my twitter feed every other post, I caved and gave it a shot. And I'm glad I did. I have a lot of fun playing it. I main Bloodhound, his tracking abilities are so damn cool
