Soooooo, does anyone remember this thing? This post is from Dec 1st. The great idea, the initiative Phil wanted to start in January? It's already mid Feb and there was no amazing announcement to speak of.

So either he forgot that, or he discarded it silently, or somehow we missed it. What exactly could he have done? Put up a goal of 200 per day? That was a very late reaction for his refinance plan, bills and taxes, this can't be it. Begging is nothing new.

This picture could look weird as it blends in with the forum. Cuz it's the forum. Everything below this sentence is done by @actually

I totally forgot, but now that you mention...

So he's willing to take on unlimited liability? Good move Phil you dumb ass.
Worth not having to file one page of paperwork and pay $50. Effort and parting with money are two things he's going to avoid.

With his propensity to literally slander people it's only a matter of time before he costs somebody their job or something, gets sued for tens of thousands of dollars, and is ordered to sell his WA condo because the proceeds from the CT one won't pay the judgement.

What cracks me up the most about this guy is how the one solution to all of his problems is the one he refuses to acknowledge, and that is to simply get better at his job. That's it, Phil. Get better at your job. He is hemorrhaging viewership because he sucks at what he does. Of course, he would never accept that but at the end of the day that is all there is to it. He has to beg like a pauper because he sucks at his job.

Now, I don't mean playing video games poorly - that itself has entertainment value in the hands of someone self aware enough to use it to their advantage. I am talking about staying flexible and adapting to new trends, and experimenting with approaches to how best to entertain his audience. We all know he is a lazy sack of crap who would sooner let his ham hocks rot off then move an inch for his "fans" and if given the opportunity, I am sure many other people could turn Phil's shitshow into something at least watchable.

But that's the issue isn't it? Phil is not entertaining. His callow insulation and muddled pawing at yesteryear's successes have incased him a sweaty gout filled sausage of boring doldrum. That is his worst offense, the tell that he is terrible at this whole live streaming video game entertainment thing - he's fucking boring. All of the good entertainment comes from his kneejerk reactions to things influenced by external forces (too many to be listed here). He himself is not fun to watch. A pissy grump with a sour puss on his face constantly bitching to idiots about his self inflicted money troubles is not fun.

And all he'd have to do is try. Just try anything at this point. Try making videos, try engaging the chat more like a human and less like human resources, do whacky challenges, stand on your head, dance for nickels - ANYTHING. Try and adapt and listen and the audience would grow, and the money would come in, and he'd actually be fun to watch without all of the drama attached to it.

I mean, I wouldn't watch it, he's gross.

He was talking about the new cheermotes.

His super secret behind the scenes plan that he had Popsicolo working on was cheermotes.

Two things:

1: it's too little too late now.

2: it's Phil. He cannot change. He cannot magically get better at games or not have a completely shit personality (among other things).

The real solution to his problems is get a real job and do Twitch as a part time thing. But he'll refuse to do that until the very end.

He would have had to change back in 2011 when he was in that steady decline. Phil being that lazy ignored it.

He's going to be in his 50s with a mountain of debt and not a damn clue what to do.

1: it's too little too late now.
if phil woke up tomorrow and decided "hey, i should improve myself and improve my reputation"
it wouldn't mean a damn thing
every detractor would be suspicious about phil
he's already been trying to pull the "i'm a nice guy now" card for months
if he suddenly tried to be AHNEST about him being a decent person, no one would believe him
and everyone would suspect he was in trouble with twitch
if he decided to git gud, everyone would think he was leaning even more on guides and hints being given behind the scenes.
if he decided to actually act like he was excited to play games, everyone would think he's being payed.

he'd eventually win people over but it would take a long LONG time.

I would absolutely love to see Phil on a job hunt. I want to see him apply for higher positions like CEO of a company and not bothering with lower tier work because of his massive ego. I want to see him fail and blame it on trolls ruining everything for him instead of blaming his stubbornness and toxic personality. I want him to go on welfare and rant about "lazy people exploiting the system, dood!" (very...VERY hypocritical).

I can't wait for that season of the Phil show.

The real solution to his problems is get a real job and do Twitch as a part time thing. But he'll refuse to do that until the very end.

The strange thing about DSP and his religious adherence to his own schedule is that his second stream usually starts at 6:30 pm his time anyway. So there's nothing preventing him (in theory) from working a 9-to-5, going "on break" from 5 to 6:30, then doing a stream from 6:30 to 10.

I mean, I know WHY he justifies it in his head that it's impossible, but hundreds of other streamers do this without issue.

2: it's Phil. He cannot change.
According to Phil, he "changed his whole style for you guys" when he started doing Twitch. Recently heard him talking about how he started uploading longer videos, in stead of his classic spam of dozens 10-minute videos a day. He claimed that he did this because his viewers had been asking for it for a long time, and he as the interactive 'average Joe' gamer dood-bro he is(n't), listened to them.

While I'm sure this happened because YouTube's algorithms started prioritizing watch time over views, and also because of Phil's laziness, ineptitude and inability to adapt to modern ways of doing what he does for a job, I still think he actually believes he's an interactive streamer and he's changed.

However, he still uses a shitty quality camera, refuses to learn new software to use (Streamlabs OBS would make his streams look much more professional with minimal effort, along with actual interactivity), is too lazy to change his shitty setup so he doesn't have to squint all the time and get input lag, uses the same emotes, plays the same songs and refuses to listen to actual advice (Don't crush bottles in the microphone, move away from the microphone when you have to snort, don't have a literal hour of you talking before you start the stream, stop shitting on other streamers, be more transparent with your audience).

I hate to make baseless speculation, especially I've said that you don't need to do that when you have a guy like DSP.

That being said, I'm pretty sure it's at least factual that the hour long videos started the moment his Youtube suspension was lifted.

I'm fairly certain that DSP finally got banned from Youtube for spamming 50-70+ videos per day, and Youtube agreed to lift the suspension if he reduced the number of videos.

Of course, DSP has always maintained that it was Youtube's fault and that he dindu nuffin. But I'm pretty sure he mentioned once that he had always done things that way (the spamming videos), and then one day "outta nowhere" Youtube decided to suspend him for it. I think he literally said that because Youtube didn't ban him before that it was bullshit that they were doing it now. So instead of being grateful that he gamed the system for years, he bitched that he finally got caught and that it was too late for them to punish him.

I forget exactly what he said, but I'm pretty sure I'm paraphrasing it right at least.

Edit: This is also separate to when Youtube suspended him when all his fapping videos were set to unprivate.

Double/Triple Edit: At 17:45, he admits that his Google Plus account was suspended for SPAM. Of course, it wasn't his fault:

Recently he also told us why he put up Let's Plays in the first place. It was to give off steam he couldn't do at work.

Quite telling and not surprising if you ask me. Autistic homemade carefree spastic commentary. Cuz he couldn't be an asshole at work where he was triggered to infinity. As said, quite telling.

Just to be clear he crushes bottles into the mic very intentionally, I think it's a low-key jab at the trolls/restreamers/specifically Tevin. Funny part is it's really his audience who mostly has to suffer as Tevin isn't always restreaming him.

so i got an email from the CEO of google
and he told me i couldn't get that high ranking job because of trolls
he told me he was a big fan and repected muh ten year legacy, but detractors would ruin the company if i had that job
he told me i did nothing wrong, i did everything right

phil would rather annoy and drive away 10 fans to annoy one detractor now than make the 10 fans happy and annoy the detractor in the long run

...

D$P first started uploading full stream videos to KOGaming1 when DSPGaming lost monetization after being let go by Curse. He uploaded the long videos because he " didn't want to spam the inboxes of KOGaming Subs"...and it was easier as this was only temporary and he planned to reupload them to DSPGaming once he got his AdSense back. KOGaming still had an active AdSense account ( which I found odd seeing as your only allowed to have one account) so he uploaded them there as to continue to generate YT monies. D$P saw an uptick in Viewer Retention which he knew to be a good thing from talks Machinima gave him ( that he had patently ignored ).

DSPGaming back in business, he started uploading the long videos there. Over time, however, he began to break the videos into hour long parts+/- as old habits die hard and he believed four one hours videos would give him more ads than one four hour video. As time goes on, certain games see even shorter video parts of 30-45mins a piece.

Recently he also told us why he put up Let's Plays in the first place. It was to give off steam he couldn't do at work.

While I've never heard this one, D$P has stated that he first started making videos because:
1) Inspired to after watching The Angry Video Game Nerd vids
2) Couldn't find 'How to beat X' videos with commentary telling him how to do it and found figuring it out by only watching how it was done too confusing. ( Guess reading was to difficult as well as I know many folks put text in their vids explaining things )
3) To make money ( most recently during his Minecraft Apex Shill rant in response to a Swagginz cheer)
