Probably kicking himself for not doing this sooner.
Sooner, to not do it for very long. There are only so many videos he can watch until all that stays is gameplay and prestreams. I really want to see him watch his own torturing method (gameplay) and watch his face as he slowly realizes he's not that interesting and energetic anymore, while he shouts "See I was not good, horrible, now I am way different, chill and mature. Now I have fun with you peepuul playing the game for me. I mean with me. Also I was really fat".

In truth I want his audience to realize how bad Phil transformed. But they probably already know that and punch the dead horse with sacks of money for some reason cuz this is the interesting part of Dave (?) I mean, even cock sucking Mrs Wagginz throws bait and shade these days.

Well, Phil is finally freaking out about article 13. At 1:45 AM. Asking his speds to talk to parlament. I'm sure the flood of 7 messages they get will convince them to cancel it.
Has he even told them what this a13 thing does or has he just seen some aggressive headers and shouts it will destroy his beefness?

(edit, grammar, messed up autocorrect)

I think he's just at the point where he's looking for any excuse not to play games. He was hypocritically complaining earlier about how all the new games coming out supposedly suck because they are getting negative reviews. If he is actually struggling even half as much as he claims, he might finally be at the point where he's not willing to throw 60 bucks down the drain. Or more, since Phil seems like a sucker for special editions. Or just preordering games twice because he's too lazy to check if he already has it.

It's almost like he's stockpiling ammo for when he's unable to pay his credit cards, taxes or whatever fucking else he's pissed money away on. It's not his fault he's bad with money, there were no good games so he couldn't rake in huge piles of cash so none of it is his fault. Just like everything else that's happened to him in the past 10 years, there was nothing he could do.

It's not strange at all. This way he doesn't have to play games.
I mean, if there was an option for him to just turn on his stream and go watch WWE, while coming back to beg during the breaks, he would do it. Unlike most people, the more desperate he gets, the less effort he puts into actually earning this money

I love how often Phil talks about how CHILL and FUN and RELAXED his job is when he has literally zero stable income. Every single day he needs to wake up and hustle fifteen different ways on the internet to cajole people he's never met to send him their money, and there's so many reasons he has go to those lengths. He won't innovate, he won't improve or maintain his equipment, he won't do cost-benefit analysis or examine his metrics beyond his CPM.

That may sound like he lives a lazy lifestyle, and he does, but there's also no way he doesn't know he's walking a razor's edge, praying every day some random whale will come around and toss him a small fortune.

Ask yourself, waking up five (or however many) days a week to go somewhere and do a thing you may have a general distaste for (at worst) as you do, would you trade that for rolling out of bed and placing your livelihood and all aspects of it in the hands of people you don't even know? Is that amount of background stress worth having no commute and not having to wash your ass until 4 PM every day?

I’ve half suspected he’s eventually going to degrade into IRL streams where he’s just watching wrestling on the couch and gives his fans the WWE info so they can synch up and “watch it with him” kinda like people who do commentary tracks on YouTube and bandcamp that expect you to watch the movie with them while they talk over it. Except it’ll just be dark on couch acking at wrestling and reading cheers about people saying that guy did a neat suplex

his commentary is already inane enough, i can't imagine if that was his main draw of his stream

The thing is it’s not even darks “career” choice that’s the problem, it’s all him. It not much different from any other type of entertainment job, you’ve gotta walk a tight rope and find a way to stay relevant, some people have a passion for doing that.

But not dark, he’s lazy and unmotivated, and terrible with money. All his problems go back to the fact that he’s terrible with money and lives beyond his means, or at least trying to live a lifestyle he wanted when he made a lot of money. Plenty of people make this YouTube or twitch thing work, and it’s probably because they didn’t go out and buy a huge ass house on the other side of the country when they got a bunch of fat paychecks.

He could’ve probably made twitch work more securely just a few years ago, watching some Tevin streams of old dark content he talks about have about 2000 viewers like it’s normal. You can life a decent life off of 2000ish people subbing and throwing quarters, along with other shit like some YouTube adds and a patreon. But it was never enough for dark, he was living beyond he means and drove away his fan base with his toxic ass.

I don’t have any drive to entrain people, but there’s probably hundreds of people that would take darks life before he ruined it himself, but now? I wouldn’t wish the prison he’s built around himself on my worst enemy.

Yeah, I think he knows perfectly well he's living on the edge (though in his case in the most boring way possible).

I've posted something about this before, but the mere fact his streaming career could be terminated at any given moment at the snap of two fingers by some people over the internet (Twitch), should be embedded in his brain at all times. That makes it even more baffling when you look at how he conducts himself in general and especially on the platform, not being able to stop slandering and lashing out at basically anyone who doesn't throw themselves at his feet to agree with the things he does.

But hey, maybe I shouldn't be baffled by any of that. Because, while he's hanging on for dear life financially for the whole world to see and depending on the random generosity of strangers on the internet for at least 75% of his income, he still has the audacity to claim he has better job security than anyone who works a job on the payroll.

It is this, but also the fact that it is no additional work. He kept showing his list of videos and indicating other things on said list that he could watch as he was doing this last retrospective. He said that he would consider doing a retrospective again, but why are we going to the well so soon? Simply because Phil actually over-prepared for the last one and can now make it a goal that requires him to have to do no additional preparation. We had no sub goal until he had something that he can sit down the day of, pull up a word doc and go.

Phil lashed out another panic rant against Article 13 now, to paraphrase, he said something along the line of:

"You guys who live in EU, which I know, A LOT of my viewers are from Britain and EU, you guys need to step up and stop this nonsense, okay? This is ridiculous for content creaters.............LIKE ME, imagine you wont be able to watch my stream and INTERACT with me anymore, just imagine that!

This is like they are STEALING my content and profit, and that's not right. Please call your local parliamental representatives, let them know about your concerns, this bill SHALL NOT PASS, okay?"

JaddF gifted 29 subs to bring DSP up to 500.

I'm almost jealous at this point just how many people just hand DSP hundreds of dollars.

Edit: Jesus Christ, I'm a man and even I think DSP mansplains too much. This "why are you shitting on a game you haven't played yet" "because I'm listening to feedback" rant is the epitome of talking down to people.

Can't wait for Phil to throw an entire continent under the bus. If only he was good at his job and didn't court the most exceptional of people maybe something could actually be done. It fits Phil's luckiest/unluckiest trait that Nintendo would finally let him stream their games just for Europe to block all of his content.

Phil trying to explain why he won't play new games which got bad reviews when he's meant to be the guy who plays what he wants. Tries to use FO76 as an example of a bad game that rightly got shit on, then Metro getting shit on for bad marketing PR which...who knows, he just says big words like objectivity and that makes a point somehow. Essentially he's smart and doesn't do bandwagonning unless the bandwagon is right in which he hops on board.
