NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

The irony is that when I was reading the plot of Catherine, I thought it was some silly tranny fantasy:

- Erica, a post-op transgirl, is desired by all the men around her and male patrons flock to the bar just to see her

- Rin, who is trans with a girlpenis, has a "True [and honest] Ending' where she marries the protagonist, despite him being a straight man

- Catherine has a non-true ending where she goes back in time and changes things just to be with the protagonist. This is where Erica remains Eric. But the idea that Catherine does this (incl. preventing Eric from transitioning) so that everyone can be happy is laughable because Catherine's true identity is a mass-murdering demonic succubus from the Underworld.

Whenever I see these kinds of trans representation posts I can't help but think these times we live in, where people are encouraged to play into the delusions of crazy people, will be looked back on the same way as we look back at lobotomies and electroshock therapy.

It should come as no surprise that those at the top of the localization food chain are con men. I remember reading an anonymous post claiming that having to change game assets is the brass ring for translators and social justice was the excuse. The press could be counted on to whip up a storm and localization companies could point to that shit storm and charge through the nose for localization. Forcing their politics and shitty writing into the game was just a nice bonus. The post was fairly long and a little too specific to be total bullshit.

That is what Dragon Quest IX is for, you can be a boy or girl, and since you are an angel, and they are supposed to be androgynous according to many traditions, use your imagination and you can troon the fuck out all you want.

I mean, come the hell on, are these people such whiny bastards they can't just find a game that let's them live their fantasies like anyone else?

The transparency on the "I blindly believe victims (when they're on my side)" thing is a bit over the top in this thread.
