I think Andre was the insert for Marl in Flora.
Marl's main character in PMD-E, a grey ninetails, was similar in personality (mysterious, aloof, playful in an antagonistic way).
There was early Floraverse art that involved Alice, Lexy, and a character that looked similar to the old ninetails design, but he never actually appeared. Instead, Andre did.
Also, Glip never drew porn of Andre (as far as I know), which would point to being Marl's character as well, as during PMD-E Glip stated Marl did not like porn of his characters. I am blanking on the names, but I recall a Sableye specifically being one of the characters mentioned.
My take would be that Andre was to Beleth what Glip had wanted Marl to be: playful, in charge, but overall well-intentioned.
At points in the comic, Andre appears to be very close to Beleth, like during Broken Toy (I think?) where he burned White Beleth's body once it was noted to be infected. Despite being a "sad" scene, it felt like it was meant to be intimate in some way... Which, to me, parallels how Glip probably viewed Marl at the time: some kind of savior figure since Marl had helped Glip escape their abusive home.
This may be over analyzing, but I am curious about what will happen to Andre if this is the case.
