Pretty sure they couldn't care less and may in fact even have picked the SA specifically because it would piss these assholes off.

I think the Salvation Army was named with malice aforethought. In my hometown, they have this quote cast in bronze and put on the wall of their shelter.

"
"While women weep, as they do now, I'll fight; while little children go hungry, as they do now, I'll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I'll fight; while there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I'll fight-I'll fight to the very end!"

Man I’m kicking myself for only now thinking of checking the farms about all this Vic drama and having all these pages to read up on

I checked on that nick guys stream and he had a huge list of people and companies alike that could get wrapped up in all this

But he made a point to keep talking about the obviously big lawyer bills for all these people, but what about Vic? I see the gofundme but he’s not realistically about attempt to go after all these people right?

I mean I hope he does because this is turning into a glorious shit show and I want to watch everyone go down in flames ha

I dunno if he was banned from a convention, but I recall the rumors that he's a bit of a douche and thinks very highly of himself. He also apparently charges appearance fees.

He's also in the same league as Mignogna and Willingham in that he has a HUGE female following. Like, insane. In Crispin's case, it started with his debut role as Touga in Utena, and continued on as Alucard in Hellsing.

This phenomenon, along with the behavior of certain cosplayers, convinced me that the girls have a capacity to be more insane than the boys when it comes to being weebs.

Willingham is really the only one I got to know semi-personally by spending quite a bit of time with when I staffed cons. He's a genuinely cool dude. Very personable. Not the slightest bit demanding.

AWL posted something funny on her Twitter today that may shed light on what Hollywood thinks of these people and their egos.

I expected nothing less from the guy who voiced Albedo the pedo and Sundowner

He's been retaining legal defense, wherein you essentially pay in advance in case of situations like this.

It's afraid...

And of course they threw in a "Oh you must be a Trump supporter" line in too. Fuck off with that shit, someone calling you out on your shit doesn't mean they're jerking off Trump at the same time. God forbid a liberal thinks that Vic is getting unfairly dragged instead following the mob.

We've been down this road four times now, and they still haven't learned their lesson. No matter how many times it's been punched into them, how hard they failed, how much money they flushed down the toiler, or how many careers were destroyed, they keep doing it. It's actually ironic, because each time, we've seen an identical paradigm: By the time it's gone nuclear, the incident that sparked the shitstorm in the first place is fundamentally an afterthought, if it came up at all.

There's a difference though, between the last few and this one, and not just how quick this one hit full burn.

People are sick of this shit. They're sick of having any and all criticisms dismissed with being accused of being a hatemonger. They're sick of constantly hearing autistic shrieking about Trump everywhere they fucking go. They're sick of companies making terrible pandering crap that doesn't appeal to any actual audience, then being told that they're terrible human beings for not liking said terrible pandering crap. They're sick of people telling them how to think, act, and behave. They're sick of being told the things they care about are bad because a bunch of self-appointed cock-hydrants who had no prior experience or investment in said thing have decided to proclaim themselves, apropos of nothing, the fucking sovereigns of said thing, and subsequently that the thing holding back said thing are its main customerbase.

Every time they do this, the backlash is a little harder, and it looks like this time, there's going to be a price to pay for it.

I wonder if we're accelerating into another anime bubble burst like a decade ago?

I doubt it. The reason that happened was that many companies involved overextended like dumbasses trying to increase turnover, since that was during the era of DVD box sets. Those still sell, but people wait until the anthology sets are out now and a much more sustainable medium's come up due to streaming. There's dozens of other publishing houses doing localization now, on top of fanslation pits, so even if the likes of Funimation crashes and burns, the damage to the industry's going to be minimal. That's also why no one worries about Crunchyroll's obvious politicizing: they have to keep the audience coming or they're going to lose money to the other streaming sites that compete with them and have similar catalogues. They can't alienate their own base entirely or the base will just fuck off and use a different platform.

A common worry I've seen voiced recently is that if Funimation goes under, what happens when the VAs from that infected tumor go walkabout? I honestly don't think it's a worry. These are people who were not only involved, provably, in an attempt to conspire against a co-worker, but who conducted a weeks-long campaign to try to destroy his future job prospects. No one in the fucking industry is going to hire these fuckers, especially if they ultimately do wind up costing Funimation money in the lawsuit. None of them have had any ability to even try to keep their spaghetti in their pockets. In three days you've seen a SWAT Hoaxing, Bomb Threat Hoax, and numerous connections of various individuals getting exposed as part of it. It would be economic suicide to take them in.

That was because dumbass licensees were paying way too much for shows, and the market couldn't sustain it.

The Escapist had an interesting article on this. ADV was paying absurd prices.

I think they fixed that issue. Streaming services seem to have been a huge boon too.

What I'm hoping happens now is that the US-side gets an education on the dangers of getting too woke.

Or not. I mean, I'll just go back to fansubs if they want to remain retarded.
