Well, over the period of time Mother 3 has existed, it has been judged to be of the highest quality and is certainly outstanding when compared to other JRPGs. Says nothing about needing to be localized.

And Shawn of the Dead, arguably the most acclaimed horror-comedy of all time, if not then certainly in any movie enthusiast's top ten list. I don't know if I can be as angry at this one. It's just typical Jerry contrarianism, saying that good things are bad and visa-versa. I suppose if Shaun was a smug intellectual uwu aspie and there were laugh tracks every five seconds complimented by awkward pauses (and subsequently, anyone with half a brain hated it), Jerry would eat that shit up.

I don't want to ramble for much longer, but I think at this point it would be a good idea to compile a list, much like his list of hypocrisies, of things that are generally well regarded that Jerry hates along with the bullshit reason he hates it (eg. Anime because of perv pandering, Persona 4 because of cutscenes, RHPS because Frank'n'Furter is apparently transphobic, Dragon Prince because some gays die, Breaking Bad because it's apparently boring, South Park for making fun of his political beliefs, etc). The list should also include things that are objectively terrible that Jerry will try to convince you is genius (eg. the Star Wars prequels because "this is how you do REAL action scenes, anime", The Big Bang Theory because Sheldon's supposedly a good portrayal of someone with high-functioning aspergers, Family Guy because Ida Quagmire is supposedly a good portrayal of trans women, her own self-insert fanwanktion for... pretty much everything it does) as well as average to mediocre shit that Jerry hates for all the wrong reasons (MLP because of his hateboner for Starlight and Steven Universe because the Diamonds are Nazis).

I don’t disagree that Venezuela isn’t socialist. It very much is. But many of it’s issues come from the fact that Maduro has been completely fucking the country up. Venezuela was actually doing okay for itself before Maduro started printing money like crazy (really bastardized version of that story, bear with me).

Worker rights and labor unions struggle there and businesses run around unchecked doing extreme damage to the economy through wealth hoarding and siphoning government benefits.
The United States is the Venezuela of Capitalism.
Does that mean Capitalism suddenly is worthless? No, because almost every other country in the worlds uses a Capitalist economy and manages just fucking fine.
In fact, it’s the exact same problem as Venezuela. Capitalism was doing just fine in the US until Reagan got in power and started massively deregulating the entire thing. Slashing taxes, slashing regulations, breaking up unions, and basically letting corporate America do whatever the fuck it wanted. Which is why the US is such a shithole because that’s what happens when Capitalism is left unrestrained.
So is the problem

I’m not in the business of policing other people’s identities, and neither should you.
I don’t really care whether or not someone has dysphoria. If they tell me their gender, I don’t fucking question it because I’m not an asshole.

I'm having an argument with a friend, who is totally supportive of the LGBT+ community, but says that until a trans person has surgery they shouldnt expect people to acknowledge their gender identity, I say that bullshit, but they say society shouldnt have to recognize them as who they are until they have fully transitioned

Don’t treat these opinions as if they deserve respect. Just repeatedly dismiss them and constantly correct him. Society shouldn’t have to recognize his stupid and delusional beliefs as anything worth respect.
