As has been pointed out multiple times they barely had to do that. They could've just gone to the end of his contracted term of employment and just quietly parted ways and kept their fucking mouths shut.

Funimation hasn't kept their mouths shut at all and their VAs and even some of their management has been screaming the house down to be believed for realsies.

Rooster Teeth (owned by AT&T after a few degrees of separation) has a lot of old school PR managers in the system and simply issued a bland statement they were parting ways. This is during the down time between RWBY seasons and so can be done with little to no recourse and blowback. A good chunk of their VAs in RWBY hold other actual roles inside the company, not just VA roles, so will have different contracts to that of VA's like Jessica Nigiri or Vic. So far as I am aware fucking nobody from there has said a damn word.

Nick did a video about this and they actually had to say even less. Like what roosterteeth did, they can just say "we are no longer employing him" since Texas is an at-will state you are best off giving no reason.

They're an at will state to a point. If you have a contract there can be other elements to it by my understanding.

Being as VA's are usually on a per season basis (to cut costs). That's when you're not doubling people up, like Dunkleman's work as community manager over at Rooster Teeth.

EDIT: Still on the stream: This dude is like a pro politician. He's not answering the questions he's asked and simply asks his own and answers it.

Well there was a video initially, but it was discovered later the person involved edited together the entire thing to make Vic look bad and then deleted their entire social media when someone uploaded the unedited footage. That's what I meant by shady.

I've tried to avoid mentioning it in this thread, but that's one transparency I can't ignore.

Back during previous shitstorms, the anti crowd, as it has this time (there's some interesting patterns for ya) was rarely, if ever, even able to prove the most fucking mundane and simple of claims. The responses they had to people simply doubting them was fucking pants-shitting meltdowns, more fucking hoaxes (GG had things like the Utah State University bomb threat hoax; Comicsgate had that one pro-SocJus comic shop claiming to had received a break-in that they blamed on CG), and the declaration that if you didn't listen and believe you were by definition supporting harassment.

There's common threads here for a reason: If you have to fabricate evidence, odds are good you don't fucking have any, and if this shitstorm even remotely follows the same logic as the previous ones, legitimate evidence will never fucking appear.

When you look at it through the prism of Vic refusing to be "woke enough" Oh lordy. It suddenly takes on a whole dark turn doesn't it? Conspiratorial anti-christian woke brigade chasing a man out on the basis of his faith and trying to ruin him for being Italian-American?

Man that'd be a fun one to watch.

Well we know being a Christian is one factor. The second factor is that several people stand to profit off Vic being canned, Jesuotaku with the ANN article, Beth Elderkin with the Gizmondo article, various KickVic youtubers. As well as VA's that may get more roles.

The third factor is that possibly there was something going on between Vic, Jessie, Monica and Ron.

Given this woman has never been in a lawsuit before? Place your bets on how many brain cells she has left once the courts tell her that Vic can legally sue her for damaging his brand name online.......

Come on that Shane guy that was on the Nick stream probably dated her. And like him she's too stupid and egotistical to realize shes screwed. Man imagine if that case was livestreamed with everyone present.

Was it edited anything like this?

People are going apeshit about alleged behavior from Vic, yet are pretty much silent when Momokun is brought up.

I remember there being a mini-shitstorm about Momokun. I think she is banned from a couple of cons. I don't look at her thread, because I can't be arsed to even pretend to concern myself with a second-rate cosplay thot.

Honestly though, she has a vagoo, so she's probably not very high up on the hit list. It needs to be understood that this has less to do with combating sexual harassment, and more to do with power dynamics.

Man imagine if that case was livestreamed with everyone present.

IF we even get into a trial. It might not even get that far. Nick said discovery is public, along with deposition transcripts, and that's good enough for me right now. I expect some juicy stuff.

Anime News Network's co-founder and current columnist admits there are worse people than Mignogna in the industry. They just aren't going to report on them because they won't bring in the clicks.

So according to ANN co-founder basically this shit has been going on for years. Vic isn't even the worst one. Some people just decided to use him as the fall guy because as various sources have documented, he's not a LGBT friendly harasser lol.

But still, instead of some sort of HR civil court thing, they decided to organize Beth Elderkin and Marzgurl for a social media takedown?

Amazing how he represents himself as a disingenuous money whore instead of as an honorable journalist like he normally does.

Faking those videos and pictures and stuff fucked their credibility up more than they'll ever know.

All I know is if Vic chose to give up and admit his guilt, the only thing that would have done was giving KickVic movement more power. They would have viciously gone after other people they don't like as well. It was a really a blessing that Nick Rekieta chose to involve himself and Vic actually filed a lawsuit.

Honestly thinking I say these things in posts just so the universe will warp around me to prove me wrong....

This is why I will fucking never win the euromillions.

Well, shit. I lost power last night and had to get up early for work. Looks like I missed the slaughter. I honestly can't wait to see these chucklefucks dragged into court, expect it to be like Phoenix Wright, and blame their ass reaming on muh kyriarchy #buggedlegalmechanics
Either that or one of those TV court shows. But I don't expect them to be familiar with Judge Judy.
