Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Oh gods no! The Anti-Gamergate types were far far less incompetent than the funiweebs. The game journo sat least had enough clout at the time to wholesale censor Reddit and most of the internet before triggering a Streisand Effect blowback. It took awhile before you started seeing loopy shitbags like ol “Shane the Brain” here popping up. And somehow both sides in Gamergate managed to keep the shitflinging vague and broad enough to mostly not give anybody legal cause for litigation.

That's the part that worries me.

Full support of the mainstream press, de jour control of multiple social media platforms, and the best they could do was the shitstorm we had. Comicsgate was even less competent but even shorter-lived because Disney seems to be obsessed with losing as much money as humanly possible lately. Now we're at the point where we're seeing full-on legal repercussions for this craziness, and it's fucking hilarious.

But it begs the question: How the fuck are they going to top this?

What's the kind of cases a Magistrate deals with?

Literally fucking nothing to do with civil cases like this (Those go straight off to the High Court for actual people to deal with due to how complicated even the UK's laws are on this shit).

We have something like that here in Arizona. They're called Justices of the Peace. They don't need law degrees, but they have to go through some coursework provided by the court. They do very minor criminal and civil matters (evictions, restraining orders, etc), and are elected. It's kind of an "old timey" thing dating back to the old west.

However, if this idiot is a wounded war veteran, ex-Bobby, or British Magistrate, I'll eat my hat. He seems like a loony. He can't even spell words right. He tried to educate Nick on the "Forth (sic)."

I always found it kinda funny there's really not that many anime journos. I think it might have something to do with the fact anime is Japanese, and they can't dick suck their way into the industry quite as well as the game journos can.

And, as I've said before, the fact that anime is Japanese has been a bane for the SJWs.

Not to mention quite a few GGers were cows in their own right. This is more of an open and shut case of shitty progressive conspirators going against a man with the sheer vulgarity to be a Christian.

Oh I’m sure there will be plenty of truly exceptional Vic defenders. Just thankfully they haven’t gotten a lot of traction yet and are mainly just repeating things Nich said on their YouTube channels nobody watches. But never forget Hamburgerly Helper is engaged. So expect fun.

That's the part that worries me.

Well Wu hasn’t shown up yet. I figure that’s about due given Johny’s Massive anime toy collection.

Weebs need "anime journalists" even less than gamers, and gamers have as much use for "games journalists" as a jellyfish has for mittens. Weebs get their recommendations from other weebs, not some bunch of worthless cocksuckers posing as "journalists."

There were definitely crazies from the start, like Geordie Tait and Bombchu (and Homer on the other side).

That's also their alternative title here in the UK. They're Justices of the Peace sitting in Magistrate's Court, so they mostly call them Magistrates now but I have met some who go by the older title.

Remember, US and UK do have the same English Common Law basis for their most basic laws with all chintsy crap layered on top, and in the UK's case 40 horrific years of trying to apply shitty Napoleonic Code to a system which just doesn't work right with it jammed in there.

No Magistrate worth their salt or effective would ever fucking dare claim to be a law expert even if they sat on the bench for 50 years. They're expected to hand out sound judgement on the advice of their Legal Clerk as to what is appropriate for the literal drek cases they have to deal with 90% of the time.

They even have the option of going "Fuck this." and chucking it up to the Crown Court but those are usually handled by the (professional and paid) local county Judge for actual people checking things over.

EDIT: Also Wars he could qualify for now and be an old fart: Gulf War 2, Falklands.

Oh I've seen them, they are already out there. They are along the lines of this being all part of Pizzagate, DARPA being behind Gamergate, and all that stuff. I don't find them particularly interesting, because I've seen those types before, they are simply autists who find patterns and weak links and then think everyone is plotting together.

And if that Nick stream demonstrated anything, they barely have any idea how to speak, let alone organize worldwide conspiracies.

Staged suicide but it's just them murdering their weakest member and blaming it on Vic defenders.

They'll have to move onto something else. I don't think they're gonna infect anime as well as they have with comics or games.

The best they can do is infect the fandom and try to serve as gatekeepers at your local circle jerk. Shane is an example of this. This is why western anime fandom is cancer and should be largely avoided. But it doesn't really hurt the product or your ability to watch it. What they really crave is control of the production side. Like they've managed to partially get with respect to comics and vidya. They won't ever get that with anime.

But never forget Hamburgerly Helper is engaged.

Lord have mercy.

I don't think he can fuck this up too bad though. Vic seems to be a good hands for right now.

Holy shit was it like this with gamergate? Jesus fucking Christ its not liek a never ending whirlpool of pure stupidity. Each exceptional individual trying to one up the next. I'm not even entertained anymore my head is just starting to hurt :(

Like can these mother fuckers stop being so exceptional for literally a day?

Maybe the InternetAristocrat will come back and make us videos like the good old days.

I honestly can't wait for more information on this. I'm just mostly dumping my honest take and feelings with this one:

As I've said in the original Vic thread, good English VA'd animes are harder to come by these days, especially ones as good as the masterpieces of old. And as has also already been explained, if the identity politics bullshit continues to infest and spread through the official anime dubbing industries here in America, that will change literally nothing beyond some diehard fans of official licensed dubs, because weebass folk will just get their anime elsewhere, and many, myself included, do that anyway for one reason or another. You can rate me optimistic on this, but personally I think that if that does happen, in the longrun it will hurt companies like Funimation. Not now, not soon even, but eventually if shit goes downhill and DOESN'T get better? People will gradually leave them behind more and more the longer it goes on. Eventually, one day, they'll be seen as not profitable enough to keep afloat.

That said, I can't really excuse what this does to Vic. Yeah I've never heard of him until this, and yeah I don't really care about someone I don't even know that much about, but you can't just ruin a man's life and career because you just personally didn't like him(which most of the Funimation people involved seem to have as their angle)and then peck at the corpse of his career like crows taking his positions and roles for yourselves. That shit's just not right.

And I'm of the mind that no, he'll never see his reputation restored to what it was before all this, and that's pretty shitty. And all because of a legitimate conspiracy that can be easily proven 100% irrefutably with a few dozen presented preserved tweets/posts, some videos, and some sound bites/video snippets, to blacklist him from VA work and from appearing at conventions.

But what gets me almost as much is how they can't just stop fucking it all up. Not 100% proven but very likely, the CEO or whatever you'd call him of an entire convention becomes an e-warrior on the official Twitter and emails of said convention, goes as far as to threaten anyone even asking questions with arrests, and fakes a bomb threat in a government owned building.

Pictures, preserved tweets, factual evidence showing people continuing to interact and be in very close physical contact with Vic at cons and looking very happy or undeterred by it after the dates on which they claim the "bad things" took place. Even one woman who had to come out and defend Vic because a picture of her and Vic from a con was being used by SOMEONE ELSE spreading lies about that meeting, claiming this girl was uncomfortable for her.

We have people just spreading their cheeks and shitting out their biased personal disdain for Vic all over Twitter and wherever else who all happen to be either employed at Funimation or related in some way to people employed at Funimation, whether directly or by mere degrees of separation. We have people like Monica Rial who make claims then call people requesting evidence or detailed information harassers who will be reported to the FBI(pffft).

We have armchair lawyers coming out and arguing that Vic has no case, that this will hurt Vic more than anyone else if he does go to court, all trying their best to slap any notion, belief, or idea that Vic can accomplish any form of comeback the fuck down and try to enforce people to give up supporting him or even Vic himself from going through with it. They're literally just being bullies at this point. Meanwhile others are faking politeness and sincerity after trashing this man to the moon and back to try and get it stopped because they don't want to reap the consequences for being piece of shit human beings.

I mean, you can read over the last dozen or so pages, or go find the stream if you haven't seen it yet(please dear lord if you haven't seen it, go watch it). Last night we had a fatfuck with a Gnome Brand stove, a shitty looking unkept house, and a chair that is just begging to be put out of its misery try to outsmart Wreck It Rekieta with fucking Google searches, wikipedia articles, and Discord help, answering questions with more questions, literally just going "You have no clue what you're talking about", "You don't know law apparently", "I know more than you do", "You're just peddling conspiracy theories" constantly for the entire stream, refusing to listen to most of what Nick says, even outright stating he wasn't paying attention at one point, claiming he has the authority to get Vic back into cons if he admits to the crimes and pulls the "I'm trying to help him" card, and then getting blown the fuck out during the superchat readings at the mere mention of "soy", "cuck", "beta", and "faggot" and bailing because he can't handle mean words after insisting for part of the stream that even the chat was on his side.

I don't know how this all works or ever claim or pretend to, and I know to hope too strongly is a bad thing, but I personally believe something besides the usual entertainment will come out of this. Especially with preserved evidence being able to prove that enough bias and malice was attributed towards anti-Christian views and a disdain towards Vic Mignogna's religion.

That alone will open up a whole can of worms the more attention this gets, and I believe Sony would step in and bust some heads at Funimation over accusations of anti-Christian views, not because they're scared of them, but because they don't want the fucking headache. I feel under such circumstances, or similar ones, they're more likely to just go "Okay, we'll take care of the people involved in this so this shit stops here and now", or at least I believe they will if they have some basic business sense.

Not just that either. That's just part of it. Hell that could end up being JUST part of the whole lawsuit, one of several things argued against by Vic in regards to malicious intent alone. Right now we're just listening to Nick Rekieta and enjoying it. Just wait until Vic and his actual legal counsel steps out of the shadows and speaks up.

This is why I'm pretty singular in my hobbies. I don't go to cons, I rarely buy merchandise(and if I do it's online and very seldom, gotta be smart with my money), I don't have some local group I hang out with. I just chill and watch anime at home like I do everything else from movies to videogames. In all fairness, any fandom can become unbearable on some level, as a whole or just a small pocket of it. Best to keep to myself and laugh at the retards, life's easier that way.

Yeah. I tried to find it yesterday but couldn't, but Jaimas made a fucking great post about this, how unlike any previous 'gate' or controversy, this one started absurdly retarded right out the gate(no pun intended). They at least managed to do damage control internet-wide during GG before dropping their pants and shitting all over the floor. These people can't even do that. To continue the metaphor, it's more like they can't even figure out how to work the belt buckles and keep shitting their pants while trying to get them off in a crazed fervor. It's great.

Maybe the InternetAristocrat will come back and make us videos like the good old days.

As much as I don't want to continue the old trends, I would love to hear Jim cover this stuff. Even just hearing him crack jokes about Metro Exodus makes me laugh.

Falklands was '82. This faggot looks too young for that. Gulf War 1 or 2? Yeah, I guess.

Honestly though, what's not to say he's not a stolen valor faggot? When you say you're a ex-military, ex-cop, and ex-magistrate, and you're that much of an sped on Twitter, you really have to wonder. Exceptional claims demand exceptional evidence.

Or, as Nick said, "Bruh, we know."

I remember hearing about Vic being touchy feely, weeb friends would joke about it. Never thought I'd see it blow up like this though

Has anyone managed to mirror Nick's stream? Both youtube-dl and the VLC method seem to be failing for me.
Nick uploaded his stream vs the brainlet boomer, I'm about an hour in and I can't imagine how Nick has managed to even talk to this cretin for as long as he has.
