The OP is doing a stream right now, and a bunch of youtubers (from the time I started watching, Nerd City, Reignbot, Nexpo, Ricky Berwick, UpNext, Shadical, and our little friend Keemstar.) came out of the woodwork taking umbrage with his idea to contact advertisers. Don't wanna make huge assumptions about their character but after the Better Help debacle I don't expect much from them.

I say if you aren't making DeFranco money, you shouldn't quit your day job.

An interesting example of this is Taken. Two American girls go to Paris and are kidnapped and sold as sex slaves by traffickers they met before they left the airport.

And the thing is Luc Besson and most of the people who worked on it were French. They new exactly what they were doing - France is portrayed as a hellish dystopia where Middle Americans need to go full on Rambo to get their kids back from slavers.

Don't get me wrong - I love the film, but it's insane how Paris is portrayed.

Then again if you read about Besson's personal life, maybe that's how Paris is when you're around him. Maybe he's like Polanski - a terrible person who makes very competent films.

In fact he met his wife Maïwenn Le Besco when he was 31 and she was 15 and said that relationship inspired the film Leon. So maybe he doesn't make good films despite being a terrible person, he makes them because he's a terrible person.

Youtube is Facilitating the Sexual Exploitation of Children, and it's Being Monetized (2019).
I'm not embedding that because the thumbnail has an underage-looking girl in a bikini in it. tl;dw is that The Algorithm showed this guy kids/tweens doing yoga when he was looking for bikini haul videos (presumably of girls who are old enough to vote), commenters are timestamping crotch shots or whatever, and maybe swapping actual CP in the comments (not going to verify that part).

and since he hit a million views, it seems like this MattsWhatItIs guy wants to be the next Chris Hansen Dan Olson:

Hugely pretentious, arrogant "story teller," wannabe speed runner and all around awkward nerd. Does "lore runs" of rpgs. Just LPs where he bloviates about story and mechanics incessantly while telling us how he could have done better. Does "ruminations" about every single individual star trek voyager episode where he also tells us what the writers did wrong and how he could have done better. Has a D&D campaign he calls "Primus." He not only uses the band's name, but the logo itself. His mind numbing game analysis videos can clock in at well over 2 hours. Has an equally awkward sister that sometimes makes an appearance.

He's certainly not cow caliber, but a definite cringe king. One of my favorite examples being his Oblivion LP/Roleplay...

Thanks for reminding me about Arch. I do find his ruminations to be decent, but holy shit his video game content is difficult. His lore runs I love the idea of but he really slogs through sometimes (eg. Mass Effect) and it gets dispiriting. Perhaps they would work better in highlights form, but he's far from a personality streamer. I recall having to abandon his Fallout (3?) roleplay in frustration. He did stick to the character, and I was okay with them being immature, but there was something about how he went about the RP that was severely grating.

I liked his WoW loreruns as sort of a guided tour of the game with a lot of background info mixed in (no idea where the real info ends and his headcanon begins, though) and the non-stop sperging about nerd shit makes alright background noise, but yeah he definitely goes all in on the pretentious neckbeard shtick and I feel like he bullshits a lot when it comes to his personal life, which can get pretty annoying espcially when he tries to derive authority or pity from it. The more he talks the more you pick up on it, and he talks a lot. And as a kiwi I have a natural interest in whatever happened here...

Info on this is very scattered. He went DFE on all discussion about it on his own forum, but a lot of it was archived and there is another forum thread here where a lot of it gets brought up. From what I gathered, those were false accusations and he was found not guilty, which makes sense because otherwise I don't see how his sister would allow him to live with her and her daughter, not to mention being out of prison.

And apparently, he officially changed his first name to Magus, which in combination with the last name given in the article leads us to this webcomic (copyrighted to Magus Strick) but I have no ideas if it's actually by him.
Other random stuff about him includes having a daughter (according to himself in one of his videos, brought up in the deleted forum thread) somewhere and going to jail for assault and battery in 2006 (also brought up in that thread).

Whoa whoa whoa. You are my new favorite person. This i was not expecting. Excellent find. Changing your name to "Magus" is a pretty big step toward actual cow status as far as im concerned. I hear you about listening to him... if im in the right mood i can nerd out and appreciate the content to spme extent. But after about the 40th "if you understand what im saying" i start losing patience.

Yeah it's pretty weird, but I don't think he'd make a good cow simply because he isn't active on any social media and knows to stay away from controversial subjects (I think he shares his hot opinions on Halloween but he never puts those streams up on Youtube and his twitch archives are very limited). If there were a thread about him it would be mostly ruminating about all the stuff in his past he tried to bury and people complaining about the videos he puts out like we see in many media cow threads, but that's not really good content. I don't think there would ever be a "happening", like we see a lot from our proper cows. But it's still pretty interesting to try and figure stuff out about him, since he has a spotty past, tries to keep it under wraps and at the same time seemingly bullshits a lot to make himself look more interesting.
