Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Specifically, Sabat owns OkraTron 5000, which is the actual physical dubbing studio Funimation uses.

This, BTW, is what they refer to in systems engineering as a Single Point of Failure (SPOF). If you have one guy on the payroll, who isn't an owner, and he is that indispensable, you're doing something seriously fucking wrong. I'm hoping somebody at Sony takes note of this, even though they are pretty exceptional. I can't imagine a multi-billion dollar multi-national corporation wants one of their divisions held hostage buy one small business owner in Texas.

Sony doesn’thave Access to recording and dubbing facilities somewhere in there bag of holdings? Don’t they have an animation studio somewhere in there? Not to mention a ton of Videogame facilities.

Obviously he has to be stopped for the sake of Satan and Sodomy.

That’s MISTER SATAN!

Also, chances of any msm coverage like gamergate? I could totally see another ridiculous SVU episode out of this
I doubt it since this is really niche and only anime fans are really into this along with a few niche people. Plus I'd rather not let this be spread to the MSM for opportunists to try and profit off of it to turn it into a SJW vs Anti-SJW shit that I'm tired of seeing when something like this happens.

Hey, so here's a theory I haven't heard anyone suggest yet after skimming through the thread. As we've theorized previously, this all started mainly because Vic wouldn't sign fujoshi's yaoi fan art in the mid 2000s, and they got angry about it. At the time, it was seen as a personal offense, but nowadays its twisted into all sorts of political narratives.

The running explanation is that Vic wouldn't sign non-canon fanart, but I think that's what Vic just told everyone. Do I think Vic is homophobic? Maybe at some point, but I'm willing to take him on his word he supports the LGBT community. The reason he wouldn't sign yaoi fanart is simple: his most popular character is a fifteen year old boy, usually shipped with either an adult or his own brother. Of course Vic wouldn't want to put his name on that kind of crap. If he did, people would probably use it against him now as evidence. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I don't blame Vic one bit for not signing non-canon fanart. A lot of the fanfic, fanart, shipping community are all fuckheads, it's bad enough they think some line, look or whatever in the media is playing into their headcannon, all they need is one excuse like "Vic signed my FMA Elric brothers 69ing art piece I made" to get super serious and think that it's an endorsement of their stupid shit imagination to push and annoy creators to change the media to their whim, or go on outrage rampages when it doesn't.

Bad enough a lot of the entertainment industry is bankrupt on imagination, but all production houses should have their staff be nicely laughing off these people and tell them no. The last thing they need is for their fanart/fiction/ship fans to think their shitty imaginations have any sway on anything as well. Maybe it will calm those fucks down and pull them back to reality.

How much do you want to bet that they know they're gonna get reamed either way but they get to screech about "muh straight cis white male christian dudebro oppression in drumpf's amerikkka"

None, for the same reason you don’t see much Comicsgate sperging in the media. Gamergate was fair game, as it involved a faceless anonymous leaderless online movement. So nobody identifiable that could sue you if you get anything wrong. It was the perfect backdrop for pushing a narrative and making shit upabout white men.

But this is all named individuals. Too much legal exposure in order to pick on a pack of nerds. Just look how much shit they covered themselves in regarding Covington. There is no upside in this for the MSM. So they will ignore it. At least until people start getting sued.

Sony probably does, especially in an area like Dallas. But as a company bought by Sony you don't always get access to those resources without paying a pound of flesh. Often times a bought start-up like business argues that their method of management and business strategy is the reason why they were bought by the larger corporation in the first place, and for that reason their senior members should remain with minimum interference from the larger corporation. That goes out the window when you have to go begging for favors, and businesses in Funimation's position would be loathe to give up whatever scraps of independence they have.

Absolutely. ESPECIALLY after the Covington disaster, MSM has to pick their fights more wisely. They're lucky Maduro roughed up those journalists as it seems like people are at least sympathetic towards that.

Here's the thing though, in Gamergate the target was a mass of faceless anons. Not exactly something for legal action. This time they targeted an individual with potentially false information to inflict financial damages. Which is one of the main things the legal system is supposed to prevent. So it's an entirely different type of conflict with entirely different consequences. Ones that I doubt any of the incredible individuals pushing this thought of. It's one of the reasons I like Weeb Wars more than AnimeGate.

What I would give to be a fly on the wall when these professionals learn about their potential liability.

Oh to have seen the look on Saucedo, Rial and Marchi’s faces when Vic’s Lawyers were revealed. That have to have been an oh fuck moment.

Maduro roughed up Jorge Ramos from Univision. No the people really aren’t. I think the people’s view is it doesn’t matter which one loses, they win either way.

Nick actually had a theory around that. I don't know how well supported it is. Anyway, the theory he outlined was multiple individuals came to Funimation and asked them not to cast Vic in the Broly movie, using the excuse of the Japanese recast to do one of their own. Funimation said no, and went with Vic. Afterwords, the VAs banded together to demand that Vic be ousted, or else they would walk, and a fair bit of underlying infrastructure with them. In light of this new threat, Funi folded and kicked Vic in the most stupid style imaginable. I'm honestly not sure how much I believe this theory, by the way, but it is a good narrative.

except that Broly wasn't recast in Japan. This new version of the character is still played by his original voice-actor,who has been playing the character since his debut movie in 1993(and plays both versions even when they show up in the same game ike in Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ).

They all thought Vic's gonna lie down, admit and accept his guilt like a typical christian guy.

I think it speaks volumes how vile Kickvic movement is when almost most of them are typical spergs that are easy to set off by slight remarks or doubts.

Wow look she is being harassed, god that harassment is more pathetic looking than navyseal copypasta.

Why do they always block out who sends them this type of stuff? Always sets a red flag on my end.

Onision just proved the broken watch theory... again.
I can only see this as troll shielding.

Senpai Trash is a coprophiliac, give me proof he isn't.

Literally the entire Kickvic side outside of the major players, are just fuckwits, complete fuckwits, they are all fucking Shanes, all of them.

I'm 100% sure they still think Sony will protect them.

The Anime part of this is a major turn off for the normies, but the Anti-Christian angle is the hydrogen-3 that can turn what is already a pretty intense bomb on the culture scene into something truly spectacular. All it would take is Fox News, Ben Shapiro or Crowder to talk about a voice actor being persecuted for his christian beliefs and this shit will go thermo-nuclear.

I think right now they are all holding back because there is still the outside bet some of the allegations are true. But you can bet once the lawyers are convinced this is a hatchet job and there is nothing to it things will go down. One of their partners is a State Senator for the Republican party after all.

Bomb on the culture scene

This shit is only Funimation's shit and Funimation honestly is not that major in the anime scene because there are tons of alternatives that overtake them. This is just throwing a weak smoke bomb

I was going through hundreds of fanpics on deviantart earlier on. If Vic is guilty of sexual assault or rape, then he's got fucking superpowers, he's filmed and photographed at multiple cons per year, over a decade, and no one who hates him has anything. I haven't found anything as much as a boob squeeze. Probably 10% of the people who ever met him at a fan sign said "I felt a bit uncomfortable 5+ years later, thinking back" that's it? And I see people looking at that as the evidence and going "oh yeah he probably did do stuff, he's like one of those catholic priests isn't he, how evil"

At this point, I'm barely able to believe that he's even a diva or a pushy fundamentalist as they claim. Because everything they say seems to be in their head.

They own A-1 Pictures (animation studio, and bane of Digibro) and Aniplex (production company), and definitely have facilities in Japan, but Aniplex USA and Funimation both subcontract the English dubbing to outside studios. Funi pays Sabat to use his shit.

I'm sure in their byzantine corporate structure, then own some sort of facility in the US that could get the job done, but the point is that their US anime divisions are largely subcontracting the work out.

Maybe something like The Sky Crawlers was done in one of their own facilities. That was released under Sony Pictures own label. But Sony doesn't handle much anime in the US under their parent name.

Anyways...

I, for one, hope Rekieta is right, and Sony wants no part of this shit.

It will be absolutely hilarious if they're all like "Well, good luck Jaime and Monica. Hope you fare well on defending your private Twitter acts."

It would certainly make sense. They don't own either of those cunts.

Aniplex and Funimation are owned by different divisions of Sony, that's why they are independent from each other and that's why Funimation has still lost some of their licenses to Aniplex(Fullmetal Alchemist,Black Butler,Baccano...)
