Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

Today on Game Grumps: Arin talks about the gender politics of the 1-Up item from New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and proceeds to talk about why they should really not be called "1-Mans" for the entire episode. Because pixels that make up a Green Mushroom on screens can be girls too, y'know.

And before you all ask: why yes, there IS a compilation showing Arin calling them 1-Mans because of fucking course there is, why would anyone possibly think otherwise? Perish the thought. And yes, it is only Arin whomst has ever called them "1 Mans" or "Extra Guys".

And yes: fans were just as bewildered by this tirade as you probably all are for hearing that this is a thing that happened.

(On the plus side, we get to hear Dan calling Arin a cuck this episode, so...not a total loss.)

EDIT: Mind you, Dan didn't even call them 1-Mans, he calls them "Extra Guys". Because Mario is a guy. It's another guy being added. This is the stupidest argument between two people on a video game that I have ever heard in my entire life.

Can i get a time stamp for the extra life rant from arin

Mario Maker hell is Ross’s way of getting revenge on Arin for axing Doodle Doods and Steam Train.

yes I know both were canceled due to scheduling and Oney being exiled from the Grump office but one can’t help but to ?[\spoiler]

It sucks because Doodle Doods was the best Grumps series in years. Based on rumors that Ross really doesn't like Let's Playing, I feel bad because with Doodle Doods, Ross could make content with Grumps without feeling like shit over not drawing.

Honestly, I feel bad for Dan. He tries to stay super positive and Arin just shits on everything he enjoys about a game. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone within the year.

Something tells me that no matter what he won't leave, I mean sure NSP is doing a lot better, but Grumps offers year-round job security. Plus a lot of NSP's newer fans are also Grumps fans, and you know a lot of them would turn their backs on him if he left.

The actual Grumps don't work too hard on their own channels, so most days of the week Danny has off Grumps to pursue his greater interests. Danny is a silly dude but he's mature and self-posessed, his positivity shows it. He's probably worked with worse people as his bosses and coworkers.

this probably is also the reason why he won't quit that quickly, it's just a single day of the week, makes sure he has the financial security to do what he really likes. Just with this the job he has with game grumps is more than what a lot of other people have and when you think a bit about his work history I think he is smart enough to appreciate this

Danny is a dude that's lived to stone way too much. Of course the man knows his money.

One of the main things that stoners are good at doing is being financially stable.

I wonder if he's just saving those shekels and has the day marked on a calendar where he can tell Arin to fuck off and he has a nice retirement fund?

He's also Jewish. So of course he's going to be good with money.

Think Arin uses these terms in bed? "Suck the one-man's head, Suzy, JESUS!"

Then he misses her obvious signs of discontent like "oh no I don't like it there" but he's all "BEETCH!" and Danny awkwardly laughs at the forced 6th-grade humor. "Yeah, you totally stuck it in her pooper bro."

I mean, shit, the man worked at Maker for God's sake.

People like to compare DSP to Arin, which I think is fairly accurate. Arin is basically an alternate universe version of DSP where DSP never moved and still had people like John Rambo to carry his channel. I think Arin gets by on people being convinced they need him, but then realizing they are successful on their own merits and drifting away once they realize how little Arin actually does for them.

Y'know, I could make a little list of things Arin and Phil have in common besides incompetence at vidya:

- Try to present themselves in initial presentations as alright hosts before quickly devolving into their true apathetic if not outright hostile nature towards even genuine fans.

- A much more charming and chill co-host friend who they act dickish to and who's more talented with his own thing.

- Have (Or in Phil's case, had) a relationship with a fellow egostroking/gravy train-riding lolcow woman with attitude issues/scams who they whiteknight to no end even when they're clearly in the wrong. (At least Leanna finally wisened up, dumped him and got her act together as far as I know)

- Shittalk on suggestions for better/alternate content production only to have a completely different stance on it when they're forced to adapt in order to stay relevant. (Arin thinking doing Let's Plays was stupid before creating Grumps and Phil's transition from camcorder to capture device.)

- A good deal of controversies under their belt due to their ego's/temper tantrums and poor damage control.

- Doing a 180 on their attitudes regarding memes they try profiting off. (Interesting reverse instance here though, Arin hating on a fan referencing Damnit Ross when he made buck out of it, while Phil hated any reference to the O-face incident before embracing it for damage control/profiting purposes when he tried to make it a emote on Twitch IIRC)

Probably overlooking a thing or two, but I think these are the biggest highlights. What I will give Arin though is that unlike DSP he's had talent and skill from the get-go but pissed it away in avaricious pursuit for e-fame rather than continuing doing what he liked, and actually managed to make a successful channel/brand out of Grumps.

In some way I do feel Danny is entertaining in his own way separately from Jon, but it's weird that Dan constantly refrains from playing games, especially 3D ones most of the time (albeit he's more self-conscious about it) when he's the co-host of a game-centered duo.
He strikes me as a clearly more music-industry guy from the 80's who's barely had any history with games and only does it for the sake of a steady job/staying good in Arin's graces rather than being passionate about it similarly to a non-gaming parent of a kid who's addicted to vidya, but I do commend his clear passion for immersion in the realm of vidya and Arin sadly ruining it spectacularly for him with his bias.

Most of Danny’s experience with games comes from titles in the 80s. Arin held them back when they played Contra. When I watched I found it far more entertaining when Dan explored a game he never played than when Arin played a game he didn’t want to.
