This is showing that they're on the back foot. They know that Vic continues to maintain a major advantage with each hoax that keeps getting easily debunked, so they're now pleading to stop before Funi loses hard.

Also possibly related, there was a huge sale on some retail sites for Funi DVDs/Blurays. This could be Funimation squeezing out as much as they can royalty-wise. If that's the case, then it's an indicator that Funimation will not use their lawyers to represent the VAs and roundabout telling the VAs to save and lawyer up.

Unless it's for Disney, no one's collecting royalties from anime dubs. Funimation's actors get paid by the hour and that's all they get. Vic, Schemmel, Marchi and Rial aren't even part of SAG. Some of Funimation's actors fuck off to Commiefornia and never look back because the pay is better.

I’m thinking that Funimation and Rooster Teeth are unlikely subjects for any conspiracy claims themselves. It can be reasonably construed that they acted on information brought to them. But discovery on them will unmask those communications and any investigation that Funimation did. Which could lead to conspiracy used against the next tier of defendants. Marchi, Rial, etc.

I think Nicky speculated in the correct direction, Funimation and Rooster Teeth aren't as much of a target and it is likely in their best interests to deflect any litigation. By deflect, I mean settle up with Vic's counsel and offer him a statement, contracts, a payout, firing the other VAs and most importantly zero struggle on discovery. As in basically offload discovery costs on Vic's lawyers so they can more effectively sue the backstabbing VAs ultimately responsible. Funi/RT get to play to the crowd 'We were duped by those evil VAs and we welcome Vic back with open arms!' and probably save money in the long run if they just toss the treacherous actors under the bus.

It will be hilarious when they learn "it doesn't work that way". How many out of context pictures and videos have they put out there, only to get slapped down by the actual people in them at this point? You can't bring rumor into court. You can't bring rumor to the police. Both will only act on first person information. Lots of "stories" and "everybody knows" does not equal anything. If they had anything actually damning and factual about Vic do you think they would have held it back? Why would Funimation have any more information? They already violated most sane and commonly held Human Resources practices by defaming the employee. Why holdback anything and only go halfway? It is so hilarious watching these dangerhaired snowflakes learn that the world does not in fact work the way they think it does.

When the lawsuits start there is not going to be much in the way of discovery against Vic that the defendants will be able to do. They can basically ask Vic "at Con X did you do this to a young girl?" and under oath Vic will likely reply "No". Their only way to dispute that no will be first person testimony. Since they clearly don't know who any of the people in the pictures and videos that they have put up this far are, nor the context of the images it would seem they will have a problem in that regard. If the only identifiable person in the image is Vic, and he is the only one under oath... yeah there rumors and stories will not even be looked at. They won't be allowed to go fishing through his e-mail or private messaging without some clear cause. And nobody has reported anything regarding Vic sending them Dic pics or such. So the Judge isn't gonna let them go there.
