From what I remember, K-On was a hit with the mainstream audiences, but a lot of critics at the time slammed it, including those who liked slice-of-life. For some reason, it became popular to like again by the critics around five years ago. No idea why.

But yeah, if you stopped at K-On, you got out early. Like I said, the backlash came in full force during late 2012 starting with Chuunibyou's divisive reputation and only receded in 2015 when Sound Euphonium ended up being the apology for K-On that most people wanted (although they still had hiccups like Myriad Colors Phantom World, which nobody liked).

They literally could have stopped here because that is all they're really mad about, but even they realize if you try to destroy someone for something like this, it won't work because it's obviously utterly insane.

They made up all this other shit just because of this one butthurt incident, and are still stupid enough they list it first, making it even more obvious how petty and spiteful and about utterly NOTHING all this bullshit really is.

Sound Euphonium was hot garbage with forgettable, bland characters and nice-looking art. And the music was too well-performed for a high school band to sound like (prove the soundtrack was played by a legit high school band and I'll retract this statement). Fite me.

Well this isn't the anime/manga thread so I'll just say that in regards to the music, maybe it's different for Japanese highschool bands, and even if it isn't, I think the music being very well-performed is an acceptable break from reality as long as they play badly during the times it's actually important to the plot. Because who wants to sit through those long orchestra scenes and get ear-raped like one of those Little Mermaid mini-games in Kingdom Hearts 2?

People are now saying that the person who got Senpai banned from Twitter is Dominique Skye under a fan account. Because this fangirl acts and talk just like her in a creepy way and also we have to get Nick to see Senpai's video and make him a lawyer to sue that Mexican jumping bean. Like she really is thirsty for him! LOL

Worse, this is all coming from the Tumblr weeb community. Tumblr's fucked in general. All this shit is from "callout blogs" that are being taken seriously by exceptional people who don't understand how this all works or are just pretending to be exceptional because it's useful to knife Vic in the back.

This is probably old hat to this group, but callout blogs are a uniquely Tumblrina thing due to Tumblr not having any staff for a decade or so. Basically if someone gets assblasted and decides someone else on Tumblr needs to be destroyed they'll post a blog with as much made up SocJus shit as they can about them. "Once drew a cartoon character merely obese and not DAFAQHUGE, i can't fap to this~! Literally fat erasure." or "Homophobic becuase I called him a fucking monster that needs to die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die FUCKINGdie because he supports HoMarge and I'm a Bart/Homer Daddylove shipper." Or "Made a joke about the Starship Enterprise, The Enterprise Computer is my headmate, this is LITERALLY AI HATE, DIE FUCKER DIE." But since it's Tumblr what they do is link each other in a big circlejerk, so one Callout blog becomes 10, which becomes 50, which becomes 1000.

Old drama, but if you want to see how this all plays out usually look into Zamii070. She was some artist on Tumblr that managed to get the ire of one of these weird fucks and they made literally thousands of blogs calling her everything but a human. Her crimes? Drew one character merely a huge fat fuck instead of a landwhale, and drew someone who is "black coded" (tumblrspeak for "she's not black but I think she's a nig so she's black!!111) insufficiently purple. She finally got sick of it all and tried to end it, and when the Steven Universe people came out and said "uh, maybe not torture other fans into literally trying to kill themselves" Tumblr lost their shit... on the SU creators. Because how DARE they tell them not to terrorize and torture some kid, don't the creators know that they're VICTIMS of her HATE ART?!

The second I saw that KickVic was referring to Tumblr callout blogs I knew this all was 100% unfettered bullshit. I had assumed some idiot blogger had fallen for Tumblr's idiocy, but since then I think they're only pretending to fall for it because they really, really, REALLY hate Vic.

Well AnimeOutsiders has a history of rustling people's jimmies up. Even outside this situation, other podcasts have had grudges against them; CA's had grudges against them; Tara Strong has a huge hatred toward them if the lolsuit is any indication; hell, even ANN has a huge grudge over them saying that Flowers of Evil was a shitheap and calling Zac out on his idiocy. Them defending Vic is just them wanting to make sure they get banned for good and hope they go away, not realizing they still have a following and a podcast to call them all out on.

Flowers of Evil is a shitheap. I have never seen "good" rotoscoping. I don't know what the fuck they were thinking when they did that.

Well yeah, from what I've seen, there's issues with the animation and the story (though that's also the fault of the source material the anime's based on). AO were right to call it terrible and Zac an idiot.
