Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Im mainly on the sidelines for this, and Holy Shit...
My main plan is to fly to country where I can buy a few white slaves, and bring them back simply so they can produce popcorn nonstop. Cause this shitshow shows no sign of stopping.
At least with ComicsGate it was well known that opposing sides would watch the streams to an obsessive degree.
These vapid women being so dense that they cannot even consider being on the receiving end of a lawsuit is baffling.
And Jamie, you aint a victim. The word you want is 'Defendant'

ThatUmbrellaGuy and Yellowflash were in a livestream and they let it be known that one of the men ragging on Vic also has an account with an extreme bondage dating service with some rather hilarious pictures and list of interests. They are being coy though and not saying who it is (:_(

It's the Axanon or whatever guy from the star trek community. YF plays a audio clip as a hint and it's the start of Star Trek.

Funi might be planning on just dumping these idiots and are wary that if they tried to wrangle these truly remarkable people either publically or in private, they'd end up being grilled for 'siding with VIc'. I could also see the accusers claiming, in fury, that Vic after all did manage to get Funi on his side with his massive clout of an anime voice actor.
Sure, but they are out there giving the opposition more ammo with every passing hour. Telling them to STFU and dumping them later would still be preferable to the current 'plan'.

It doesn't look like there is a plan. Funimation just seems completely oblivious.

At the very least this is fucking up their stable of VAs. Unless they're already planning on just dumping the lot of them and starting over, that's not good for them. And that's assuming they're not getting sued themselves.

Vic's got "OVER 9000!!!" dollars left to go.

From what I understand, Funimation IS basically their entire stable of VAs. Most of their higher tier staff are VAs doing double duty.

I'd want some numbers on that because Sony bought Funimation for $143 million (or 95% of it anyway).

No way these fucking losers are worth $143 million split up between them.

Jamie, this isn't just trolls and twitter randos anymore. Now is the time to lawyer up and get the fuck off twitter, it's not a fucking joke.

Or, conversely, listen to your gut. Don't trust people who are telling you things you don't want to hear - you don't want to hear them! That makes it not true! Remember the real world operates exactly like Twitter, so if a lawyer talks about your liability and potential to be sued, you can block them and mock them for being a troll, and you win! Anyone who isn't supporting you is just a -gate type bigot who doesn't believe victims, and you can smash the patriarchy by telling everyone you come into contact with that someone is guilty of serious crimes, with the only consequences being a few trolls! Anyone asking for evidence or saying it might be important - troll! Blocked! It's that simple!

Jamie, your instincts are correct. This is just a social media storm, it'll blow over. You got what you want with Vic being fired, so you've won. Anyone who is saying otherwise is just a troll, or jealous, or both. And if someone comes to your door and gives you some papers, serves them to you one might say, you're just being harassed in the real world, which means you're more of a victim. People went so far as to find out where you live - your life may be in danger! Make sure to tell everyone online so they know how serious these trolls are, and how this somehow makes Vic even guiltier of the crimes you've accused him of! Don't open the envelope, it just contains something hateful from a troll - maybe even something disgusting, like poo!

Remember that you've won, and everyone who doesn't agree is a basement-dwelling nerd who you can safely ignore. Eventually it will all go away, and things can only get better from here!

I've heard their VA's were involved in hiring and firing and general middle management positions. Are you suggesting these VA's are part of the executive committee or god forbid, the board of directors? I did a cursory search on Bloomberg and the company is a black hole. The only listed corporate agent is the CEO, Fukunaga.

Some more digging into their corporate structure reveals that their VP for marketing is from Wellesley college. Yes, that Wellesley college. Hillary Clinton's Alma Mater incidentally. That snake pit is a breeding pit for the worst of the worst when it comes to hardcore feminist social justice.

It seems she took over their marketing department in 2017. This was after a host of really negative glassdoor reviews that accused the company of hobnobbing too hard with conservatives.

Fun story, those glass door reports were from 2015 when the first questionable translations started to surface. Not one to tinfoil, but this really makes you thunk.

At this point even if Vic is guilty I hope Funimation just fires her and refuses to work with her again for her attitude during all of this.

I am in agreement with Nick that... whatever happens... they need to add a "non-disparagement of colleagues" clause into their contracts. This high school drama shit, while funny, is embarrassing for people that are supposed to be professionals, and it doesn't make the industry look good.

Vic is one of the higher paid ones, and his net worth is about $4 million. With the way anime already has razor thin margins, nobody in the US is ever getting super-rich in this industry. They're more like upper-middle class, at best.

Which is why, despite being poor AF, I didn't mind tossing a few bucks to Vic. It's credible to me he might have to dip into the GFM even if he had his own means of funding litigation.

By hobnobbing with Conservative I believe Rick Santorum, was a major investor and partner of Fukunaga. Santorum had a Christian Production company that shared/rented facilities with Funimation. That’s what gets me here. We’ve been watching this escalate, but the real bomb hasn’t exploded yet. Keep an eye on sites like the Daily Caller. When they start covering this you’ll know the Anti-Christian angle has been picked up on. A few Right Wing Media know of it, and are watching carefully. They want to hear a bit more on the claims against Vic before they get involved.

TUG just pointed out on his livestream that Funimation lost about 12 millions views on February 21. That's a huge drop. Could be unrelated, but something to possibly look into. TUG thinks they dumped FMA videos, but I still see the original series on there and I don't remember if Brotherhood was on it since I've haven't checked that channel in years.

Um ok yeah, I haven't made it very far in but he's talking about how fuckable Marchi is, and the chat is ~45 minutes ahead and are starting to REALLY freak out.
Yeah, YellowFlash went on a rant that is not youtube friendly, that stream is getting deleted

I think you're being far too optimistic to think they'll cover it. Conservatives aren't known for knowing much about nor wanting to do anything with Japanese anime outside a few very popular titles. Even then, you think your average Christian or conservative cares about Pokemon? No, not unless they heard it was being turned to outright leftist propaganda.
