Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Ya know, funny enough, MangaKamen actually expressed why he didn't want to associate with the #IstandwithVic side for that reason.

And while he admitted that it's good that people are talking about this, the fact that they're spamming everything (even throwing up terrible livestreams), and are pretty much copying and pasting the same information is why he doesn't want to associate with the movement. He kinda called it.

This is about how I see it too. I have no stake in how well Vic does, but I do want to see the opposition destroyed.
Pardon the sports metaphor, but it's like watching the Super Bowl when your team isn't in it, but your team's rivals are. I don't care who wins as long as my "enemies" lose. Does that make me as bad as them?

That's a lot of hysterical screeching for this:

And no, there is absolutely nothing remotely unethical about such a notification. It is a bit terse, but the less said the better. Any formal communication will be more detailed.

It is quite simply putting potential defendants or witnesses on notice and giving them an opportunity to behave themselves. They cannot be heard to complain later that they were blindsided by legal processes they had no way of knowing about.

It's a bit terse. Considering they've been calling these guys either scams or not understanding that this is a law firm who does not fuck around when it comes to tactics and understanding the law... I mean, I'd be pretty fucking terse if all these chucklefucks have been doing since discovering the involvement of a law firm is to continue screeching out how much of a fucking scam it was.

That tweet will have been made on the vague hope it'd rattle Soye's individual braincell into realising "You done fucked up now, son."

Instead it just spawned more useless Twitter whining.

Personally, I hope Mr Beard enjoys his new car when this legal case is finished. I'd recommend a nicely tricked out Jaguar F-Pace for the family.

Chucked $10 to the fund because lol.

Something I find interesting is that Rial seems to be the only one of Funimation's clique taking this remotely seriously. It's too little weeks too late in her case but she's done the smartest possible thing in shutting the fuck up and for the most part settling down, with her most aggressive tweets now being entirely defensive.

Meanwhile, for not that, Jamie Marchi continues to grift, balking at the idea that she could be culpable in any way for anything.

This weirds me the fuck out, man. Even Brianna Wu had the fucking sense to drop the shit when the law got involved, and had the smarts to nope the fuck out when Chloe Sagal was looking to go after GFM for shutting down her charity scampaign. Even Mark Waid had the sense to shut the fuck up and stop fucking tweeting when he got slammed with a lawsuit. Marchi makes them look fucking galaxy brain levels of intelligent.

Eh... He's hit and miss with me too. I heard he kinda got on the case of people who criticized RWBY.

I don't watch HeroHei's streams because what little I've seen suggests he runs a call-in show. That's a magnet for cringey autism. His prerecorded stuff seems okay, and he plays off of Nick well by filling in the blanks in Nick's knowledge about anime. Hero is the weeb, and Nick is the lawyer. Together you get a nice understanding about law as it might be of interest to weebs. If it were just Nick, these discussions might be too theoretical for people's tastes. If it were just Hero, you'd have an ineffective strategy for fighting back.

As for RWBY: I'm really ambivalent about it. Some people I trust seem to like it. I barely GAF about Vic's anime roles. I'm watching more and more subs. If Hero likes RWBY enough to be knowledgeable about it, he's probably bringing something to the table.

For me, this is mainly about how the "trial by Twitter" stuff needs to stop. I probably would have sided with anybody who was a victim of this shit, in anime fandom, if the same factual circumstances applied. Ironically, that would have included Justin Sevakis (who I knew back in the 90s, as a fansubber), if there were a concerted effort to lynch him.

I want to see their modus operandi rendered ineffective. That might involve having to destroy some people, and it might not. I really don't care if Monica and Jamie are eating catfood under of freeway overpass, or being successful in a more woke industry. As long as they fuck off with this shit. Danger hairs out of anime.

When Brianna Wu is an example of rational behavior, you know you went past full retard and around again to full retard. Double retard, if you will.

If Jamie and Monica had simply said they don't like the dude and were not, seemingly, involved with getting Vic fired, I wouldn't have cared. Call him a creeper on twitter all you want, that's your right. But I'm sick of people losing jobs over accusations that people are consistently unwilling to bring to court. Honestly, for all we know, Vic may have done some of what he was accused of. But what they're doing has hurt definitively innocent people, like all the college hoaxes, so I'd like it if the people doing this saw that it was possible to get served in court.

That said, we all know that no matter the outcome of the case people are going to keep doing it.

I hope yall realize that even if the VAs get their ass sued off and have to pay 6-figure fines, all they have to do is start a patreon/crowdfunding and they'll easily rake in a few million.

Who cares? I want them to be humiliated publicly, not go flat broke. If they get money then they can stick around for years shrieking on social media about how much the deck was stacked against them. That shit will be hilarious.

Undoubtedly yes, but it might actually give some people pause depending on how well-equipped the target is to defend themselves. It's a bit like how armed robbery still happens, but only the biggest fucking idiots would try to knock over a gun shop, or a Krispy Kreme with 4 patrol cars in the parking lot.

And that's a relevant fix, because this metoo shit is usually meant to tear down the successful.

EDIT: Nick mentioned that nobody has actually really tried this yet. Which is why it might just be crazy enough to work.

I think Marchi is a true believer. She's swallowed third wave feminism so completely its simply beyond her comprehension sticking to her moral principles can land her in trouble. She's like a muslim terrorist confused as to why people think beheading infidels is a bad thing.

If this does go through, and MarzGurl is dragged along with the VAs, Websites, and noticeable figures. It will send a powerful message toward the SJWs that their bullshit will lead to a serious consequence if they ever try this lynch mentality on social media once more. PULL, and all those websites will be in serious trouble as they will be held accountable for keeping this going.

She's obnoxiously like Yvette Felarca, who, upon being dragged into court and charged with a felony, claimed the judge was alt-right because he dared to rule against her several times.

However, I'm not sure I can completely rule out Marchi caving at some point. After all, the rumor mill suggests Felarca is very close to accepting reality and taking a plea deal (and that bitch is probably more cray-cray than Marchi).

I rate this optimistic because these are the same people that say real communism/socialism hasn't been tried yet.

Fact is Rial kept making these spitting, vile remarks right up until the Law Firm was announced and public blowback became overwhelming., Then it swapped to Rob Soye, who's basically been spewing the same stupid shit his fiance/wife has to the point the passive aggressive smilies made me think it was Monica on the account.

Not that it matters, it's all been archived.

These brainlets are just amazing in how deep into the Twitter/Austin hugbox they've become.

I hope people record fans repeatedly asking them about Vic there. That will be a sight to behold.

I'd advise against that, if only because the con staff will be strong-armed into pulling their badges and frog marching them off the property. This will cascade into other cons banning the "perpetrators."

Nick's opinion that the municipality would be libel for suborning a 1A violation is largely theoretical at this point. He even conceded "it's not a slam dunk."

There's actually a case kinda like this before the federal court, concerning a porn convention in Dallas, but I believe it's still ongoing.

I thought it odd her deleted almost every reference to cuckery in his timeline. I wonder if he's trying to keep people off that particular angle?

Because "Your honour, this whole thing came about because of a spurned lover and her partner." let's the judge go to the titty bar early after pushing them into paupacy.
