If he was really about “expressing himself” he wouldn’t care about popularity of his expressions. He’d be like every other “free spirit” sped whistling sweet dixie to the void of the internet because it was his expression, damn it, it doesn’t matter who else likes it! He’d be a schizocow instead, but I love them too. (Here’s where I would say “Tommy Tooter crossover when?” but it already happened.

But no. People have to like his things. Specifically like, and not haha. I bet even when he’s specifically trying to make a joke he still doesn’t like the haha react. He wants to be liked. Too bad he still hasn’t figured out you have to be a likeable person doing likeable things for likeable reasons for that to happen.
Also just like with Kenny, this Taylor thing is not going to end when he says he’s “closing the chapter.” With stalkers it doesn’t matter. They never get closure because it’s a pathology, not a grieving process. He’ll make everything about this for the rest of his life because it’s part of his identity now. He can’t just let that go.
