I'm actually kinda shocked Anime Matsuri became so damn big. I haven't followed con attendance numbers for a long time. They've supplanted A-kon as the big dog in Texas. A-Kon and AX haven't put together their 2019 guest lists, so it'll be interesting to see what happens there.

I'd like to see the cuck cons pay in hard cash money for caving in to SJWs based on nothing but fear of a screech mob.

AX might cave because:
  1. It's California.
  2. That con is kinda a whore for the industry (it's almost a trade show), and they would probably cave if Funimation asked them too.
I dunno about A-Kon though. They are a bit smarter. I'm still giggling how they BTFOed Shane.

Seems likely. Who do you think buys the premium passes at cons? Who do you think sends vendors to cons? (And, more importantly, is it too late to cancel your booth?)

Funimation can't know they're not on the hook in this, although it does seem to imply blithering idiocy that they haven't told their minions to STFU for the love of god. Unless they're very deliberately letting them hang themselves, they're as oblivious as Marchi and the rest. Rial at least has the sense to let some cuck go out there and put his neck on the chopping block instead of her.

But it would not be a great idea for Funimation to go out there and do even more tortious interference or, for that matter, do or say anything at all.

I don't know, exactly, other than a lot of it is industry, but people actually showing up and buying shit at those booths have a high degree of likelihood of sharing at least some features with the comic book "whales," i.e. superfans who buy literally everything but who if they get pissed off stop buying everything, i.e. the average ComicsGate whale.

I think I'm appreciative of the fact that other VAs that are in Funi are generally quiet about the whole thing except Schemmel, Marchi and Rial instead of acting like lolcow and sperg like Ron Toye and Jamie Marchi have been doing.

Not being from Texas, I have to ask:

Which is more infested with dangerhairs: Dallas or Houston?

I'm wondering if Anime Matsuri can get away with this because the political climate allows it in Houston, or are they doing it in spite of that?

I'd be interested in the answer to that too. Although both have Democratic mayors, Houston has a lesbian mayor. That doesn't mean much in dangerhair terms as lesbians might as well be white males on the social justice totem pole these days.

Dallas kind off. Houston is fairly traditional, Dallas get's a fair amount of new blood from businesses that start up in it or move to it. Dallas also has more suburbs than Houston that contribute to the dangerhair population. Both pale in comparison to Austin though.

The thing about Texas is that it’s more of a “purple” state than anything. Rural areas and some cities vote red while the biggiest cities like Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio vote blue. However, it should be noted that they have not yet approached San Fransico or coastal cities’ level of Democratic consolidation. The political climate is not so hostile that they can’t have a more “conservative” person like Vic Mignogna have a presence.

Also, the lesbian mayor is no longer in office, not that it means much of anything.

I got like a little over an hour of the stream left to catch up but I need to sleep so I'll have to watch Nick go Super Saiyan 4 tomorrow, but I just have to say that this is fucking insane and I'm loving every second of it. What a world we live in where now an American court may have to discuss anime (far as I know this hasn't been the case, not even with the Death Note controversies) and potentially cosplaying, and if we can get something more glorious than "Santa Cuck" read out loud by a judge/lawyer to be forever immortalized by the scribe, I want that to be the last thing I think back to on my death bed so I can die with the goofiest, nostalgic smile on my face.

2019 has been a beautiful, glorious year so far. And it's only March. God bless.
:shit-eating:

I figure that there are weebs in the rural areas of Texas that influx to both cons, so the actual con staff and attendance makeup is probably closer to purple.

But that's just a theory.
