They'd have to start a new one. They can't go back and alter the original one.

This is not accurate.

See the Time's Up GoFundMe.

Their goal is currently 24.5 million, but it was only 15 milion back on January 1st, 2018. The amount kept increasing as people donated.

Yes they can.

Oh damn. I was wrong about that. Well, I guess we're gonna have a longer ride than usual then, lol.

That's what they appear to believe. If Vic dares to appear in a court, the judge will simply ask him whether he's a white male, and if he says yes, it's off to prison immediately.
They seem to think that when Marchi and Rial say "he made me uncomfortable" in court, suddenly a prosecutor will walk out and it'll become a criminal trial.
They're completely delusional.

The "goal" on a GFM is "functionally" pointless. You can not meet you goal, and still withdraw funds. You can go over your goal, and withdrawn those funds (as is the case right now), and... yes, you can even change the goal at any time (what Nick is considering).

If Nick could have set it to "Whatever we get, and what we don't use goes to charity" that would have worked too. But there was no option for that. He set a soft goal of $100,000 because he ballparked that as being the amount that would be considered the reasonable cost of getting the lawsuit out of the gate.

And, of course, having a quantifiable goal gives people something to cheer for. As is the case right now.

So some account (archive) was tagged by Nicky Reks that was complaining that this one con that hasn't #KicVic yet was buying ad space on his live stream. They've used some sort of block bot but haven't protected their tweets yet. They link to some facebook page (archive) detailing the crimes that the CEO has committed. Almost all of their proofs come from websites that I've never heard of before and will probably never hear from again. The only "legit" news source they have listed was an article from The Huston Press from the account of one woman who was upset with how things were ran at the weeb fest. What I find interesting about the article is how it just kinda brushes over how the CEO wants to "do more meaningful things with Lolita and promote more of the brands at our events". It seems that the con has royally pissed off the loli crowd which I find hilarious. What I also find hilarious/disturbing is how many times the author mentions Lolita without ever addressing what it is. Either he's blissfully unaware or super cool with it and you should be too.

Either way, the tweet in question I found to be pretty funny to read through just to hover over the names of people on the boycott side.

Well good for you champ.

It's even funnier if you keep in mind that it's the lolicons that seem to be the most angry at Matsuri.

Jamie does unironically believe her white female privilege will probably win the care, we're sarcastic now, but they're serious.

White women are the white men of women. "Oh, white men are irrelevant now, but don't worry, we white women will take over in their absence!" They're just as racist as they claim white dudes are.

"Overcomer of Autism."

I press X to doubt.

Overcomer of Autism

I'm sure he's donning a rad dinosaur printed sticker like a war badge as a reward for doing that. What a champ.

She reaaaaally doesn't care about it all.
Either way she's cares super fucking hard. It's difficult to explain but I poured my heart and autism into a graph to make an attempt at an explanation.

I just can't get over the "I'm a strong independent woman who don't need no lawyer" shtick. If you showed me that tweet out of context I would think the person who wrote that is fucking with everyone and trying to be a parody of a Twitter keyboard warrior. What a bizarre timeline we live in.

Anime Expo came up earlier and I went to go check their guest list. It's not up yet but I'm kinda curious how AX in particular will handle it. They're leaps and bounds ahead of Anime Matsuri and someone mentioned how it's almost an industry con and a money machine (broke 100k attendees in 2016 and even with record 117 degree heat broke 113k-ish.) On the other hand, it's in LA who eats Hollywood liberalism for every meal. Who knows how that one will pan out.

ETA because I'm still going through this fast af thread:
Laugh at the PULL thread instead

Even if your knowledge about law comes from Phoenix Wright they have a civil case at one point. I'll restrain my fake lawyer sperging but jfc have they never turned on a TV in the afternoon ever?
