Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

If the court of public opinion and the majority are so clearly on the side of KickVic, why are they at all concerned how many streams are held by the other side?

The public has never been on their side. The problem has always been that the people on the receiving end of these social justice lynch mobs tended to always bend over and spread their cheeks to them. If they were a private person, they would just apologise and admit to everything in hopes it would all go away, and if they were a company they would cave immediately to the demands. The true miracle of this particular incident is that in the first 2 weeks before the intervention by the lawyers, Vic never actually admitted to doing the things he was accused of. He just apologized if he offended people. Had he apologized for doing the things he was accused of (whether or not they were true) he would have been toast.

The people in #kickvic, both the Voice Actors and the Companies involved followed standard procedure for dealing with a MeToo crisis in the current year. Public virtue signalling proclaiming adherence to the Social Justice religion, formal institutional actions backing up by force the demands of that religion, and the full expectation that the Penitent Heretic will in the face of their righteous fury confess his sins and seek absolution in death.

Except that's not what happened this time. So now all these NPC's are stuck in an error loop. It seems insane to us who are not part of their faith, but to them this should have ended 2 weeks ago. The fact that its not over means they have to double down and recycle the attacks. Because that's what their dogmatic beliefs require. Warped Perspective does not even begin to describe it.

Most of these victims actually believe the accusations on some level, though. Or at least share the ideals they think that so-called "Social Justice Warriors" claim to hold. They apologize because they actually believe that if they're accused, they just must be guilty, even of just being a white male at all.

The idea that their accusers are motivated nearly purely by malice and lies and pure bloodthirstiness doesn't occur to them.

I swear, it feels so good letting these people fuck up on their own. It's so refreshing.

They're this, accidentally throwing stones at their own side because someone just fucked up and said the wrong thing.

But #blackfacelawyer. I have brought up this thing that nick hasnt hidden I should win now

I'm amazed that she managed to look more racist than how she was trying make Nick out as. She straight up shot herself in the foot while it was in her mouth.
The smartest thing she could do right now is shut up and get off twitter, so of course she must do the exact opposite
Can't. Toei owns Dragon Ball in Japan and has blacklisted Team Four Star.
Ah fuck, I forgot Toei has this stupid hateboner against them. People like the parody, Toei. Accept that shit and milk it for all it's worth.

We really need to acknowledge two major things though:
  1. Those rangers really did a good job banding together. I don’t think there are any fan clubs that come close to the level of support Vic got, both emotional support and support toward clearing his name.
  2. #KickVic will always be known for never sending their best.

When did that happen?

I dunno "when," but Funimation actually tried to bring T4S in at some point, and Toei told them under absolutely no circumstances are they to work with T4S. Toei doesn't appreciate the parody, and has been dogging T4S for years.

There's video of Schemmel talking about this (mostly out of his ass). They seem to have a gun pointed at their head on this matter.

If Mignogna did K-pop instead of voice acting all of his detractors would have been car bombed within 24 hours of the first tweet going up.

I've said this before, but fan girls are fucking cray-cray. Way more than the boys. Feminism might be an issue in that demographic, but I've noticed they tend to subordinate that shit to the welfare of their anime husbandos.

The only disappointing thing is I haven't seen many videos from them (lots of pictures on the GFM tho).

Didn't they get some of them to do VA work for the Mr. Satan vs Cell reinactment from DBZ Kai: th final chapters? I could've sworn they did.

Oh yeah, I believe Funimation got in trouble with Toei for having Team Four Star do a casting gag in Dragon Ball Z Kai, actually.

Lol just posted it.

I'd looked her up already but couldn't figure out if she's related to the entirely eligible to practice Harmeet Dhillon.

I doubt it, since she was photographed with Trump, and is part of the class action lawsuit against Google.

While Geetanjali thinks Trump has incited White Supremacy and works in Marketing at an anime company. She has a younger sister though, Seema.

To add to this, the scene in question was cut out extremely last minute. The Toonami previews for this episode specifically hyped up TFS voices appearing and clips like this only exist because the episode with the original audio was put on on-demand services by accident (at first).

Remember that you've won, and everyone who doesn't agree is a basement-dwelling nerd who you can safely ignore. Eventually it will all go away, and things can only get better from here!

I don't know if the others are reading the thread, but to my surprise Jamie seems to be really taking my advice to heart.

I would take this with a grain of salt. It say's her licence was suspended due to inactivity and not paying fees. Its entirely possible she decided to do something other then law (like marketing) and didn't see the need to pay to maintain her license if she had no intention of using it. Much like how a person who lost their eyesight won't pay to maintain their drivers license. Why would they?
