Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

More than that yesterday. There was a guy named Justin Y. who donated at least $500 to Nick in the live stream, one for everyone $100 and that's in spite of Nick telling people not to put themselves in a financial burden to support him, only what they can afford.
I'm sure justin is loaded or some shit which is why that guy can comment on every single video ever made, he's gonna be fine

Or with Monica Rial, either... as far as law is concerned. He doesn't get spousal privilege, because he isn't her spouse. He could be compelled to reveal everything he knows, even if it implicates her; if he refuses, he could be held in contempt of court. What's more, if the jury could infer that he's hiding evidence that probably would prove that Rial is guilty, they could use that against her. They're allowed to do that in a civil trial.
He's fucked if they do call him. Different jurisdiction but I believe the courts in Scotland got Dankula's gf to testify against him because of the lack of privilege. If they do call him as a witness against Rial, I suspect they wouldn't be engaged much longer, given the way the harpy and her soy filled fiancee act.

So, my impression is that Rackets' is doing pretty good with these streams, but the individuals over at PULL seem to think that he's making out like a bandit over this, but I'm pretty sure that on a purely pragmatic level additional hours working as a lawyer out earns, 1:1, being a youtube commenter.

Echo chamber doesn't even begin to describe them. "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up" is particularly applicable to them. Shit's going to be fucking miserable for them when reality comes crashing down and everyone gets legally destroyed.

Well, he sorta is in the sense that he's made a fuckton on superchats. He got $800 last night. Three hours yelling at idiots (including them) is more than he'd get in legal fees.

But what they don't grasp is that he's putting in work to get that, and he's raised many many MANY more times that for Vic's campaign (which again, he can't touch).

I don't expect a no-talent CA alumni to comprehend quality leading to reward. MarzGurl's idea of making money is to beg for it in order to afford an oil change.

and it actually worked for Todd since he still works with Funimation and still voices Natsu in the simuldub of Fairy Tail season 3.

I was about to say that that would be awkward, since at least Jamie is friends with Pridemore, but then I realized that Todd is out in LA too.

Then Kodansha just gave their US branch the rights for it in America.

Right. My point was that Kodansha really stalled out SM fandom in North America by chosing to work with Levy.

Toei throwing in with DiC wasn't much better.

Early SM fandom in the US was pretty autistic.

Isn't Justin Y. a meme name now? Like there was one guy named Justin Y. who fucked with the Youtube comments section a while back, and then people started copying him, etc.?
I realize this is OT, but I kinda doubt they're the same people.

A while back VAs decided to go on strike from video games unless they got a cut of the revenue, something not even programmers, artists, and designers get. The games industry told them to go fuck themselves. Outside of a few games replacing a few regulars, no one noticed or cared.

Exactly. You know what some of the companies did when the VAs went on strike? The companies decided to hire cheaper, theatre-based actors for their roles that no one knew about nor cared about. That's why you don't see many professional voice actors in games like the recent Assassin's Creed games, some LEGO games, various EA games and so forth during that strike.

The more of Nick's streams I watch, the more convinced I am that these people are completely inept. To hear them tell it, Nick is a hack on the level of Landau who is going to embezzle the 100k while trying to defend Vic in a criminal case against top Sony lawyers who are going to use the mountains of evidence against Vic to get him.

And I'm loving every stream he does. It's too damn entertaining, and it's clear that these people have no idea what they're headed towards.

These people keep reiterating that testimony is evidence without recognizing Texas's Defense by Truth standards. And what about Vic's testimony. Is that evidence too?

Something also tells me that the 25+ women that Monica, Samantha and Ron Soye are talking about are people who can only determine that Vic and Monica (and others) were in the same place at the same time, not that the assault/harassment happened. So, all these people bringing that up have to keep that in mind before using them as a defense. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people in the US that claim they've seen sightings of Bigfoot in the woods. Does that mean Bigfoot exists?

So, my impression is that Rackets' is doing pretty good with these streams, but the individuals over at PULL seem to think that he's making out like a bandit over this, but I'm pretty sure that on a purely pragmatic level additional hours working as a lawyer out earns, 1:1, being a youtube commenter.

You can tell these people are delusional just by these statements alone. Nick already established that the money he makes on the streams couldn't even cover a groceries for a family of five children. MarzGurl has been caught lying and misconstruing videos to her benefit. This type of stuff has been sent to Nick. Then they make assumptions by saying that this is being done just for the money and attention. The only YouTube I know trying to do that is Perfection.

And if you stopped bothering listening to Nick or his streams, why are you still bothering to comment on him? Why are you in complete denial? Why are you still posting on the Vic Mignogna thread if the case is closed?

In the coming weeks/months, these people will probably be paying close attention to Nick and Ty's words. They might have to.

MarzGurl's idea of money was to do videos with the pile of autism that was Channel Awesome. With the exception of one or two of the former members, virtually everyone there has turned out to a degenerate piece of trash.

Hey guys. There's an off-chance that ThatUmbrellaGuy might have something interesting to show. Livestream is here and right about now. It's regarding Anime Matsuri.

I like TUG so I'll watch him regardless but it might be worth paying attention to.

Oh and Jamie posted this,

Holy fuck, twenty more pages since I last checked and a Nick stream tonight with the women of Beard Harris? This is going to be a great evening.

Toei's always been shit when it comes to their property. Even outside of TFS, they've treated the Sailor Moon license like shit and depsite it being a Takara-produced thing, are holding that 1986 Transformers OVA hostage for reasons no one's sure of.

But to bar TFS from doing anything for Funimation is just a whole other level of exceptionalism on the part of the Japanese. Last I checked, stuff like Ping Pong and Heavy Object (of which they did minor VA work for) weren't owned or made by Toei. So unless they threatened to to tell the other anime producers in Japan, they should have told Funi to just simply not use them in any Dragon Ball or One Piece media. Not outright forbid them to do any anime.

And with their r.etarded censorship practices, I full expect the Playstation branch to begin floundering with the rest of the company soon. But we'll see. I do wonder if Sony's already regretting their purchase of Funimation though.

Japanese Businesses are known for holding grudges for generations. And will resolutely refuseto do business with anything connected to the source of that grudge. It isn’t the American Businessman’s “it’s only business” where grudges get forgotten the next day in service to the business. In Japan they get maintained in service to the companies honor. So yeah if Toei feels slighted by Team4Star, that’s it. It ain’t ever getting better.

Nick does these for fun. The streams probably pay his booze bill. Even as a small town lawyer he has a billing rate that most of us only dream of, and likely enough business to keep him occupied. I do find it hilarious that the person muttering about it is the chick selling herself for medical experiments and crowdfunding an oil change. Which still amazes me. The chick is internet famous enough, with enough of a known brand in her niche communities, that she should be able to make a reasonable living. If she wasn’t a complete and total life failure to the degree that even Spony looks like an amateur.

I'm not convinced Funimation WANTS Sony to notice this shit. Anybody associated with SPE is on thin ice as it is. SPE has lost money EVERY... FUCKING... QUARTER... for the past five or so years (at least). They lost 719 MILLLION dollars in FY 2016 alone.

Everything at Sony that doesn't have the word "Playstation" on it tends to perform like ass.

I've said before that I think there's a definite possibility they'll kill the division and rape it for resources to fold into Aniplex.

Buying Funimation wasn't necessarily a mistake, as it's the big dog in anime distribution in the US, but it's not unheard of for a company to buy a competitor for the sake of killing it. It's not really that fucking hard to make money on weeb shit. You just have to not be autistic and delegate things to autistic people.

The value in Funimation is the customer base, the licenses and the IP branding. The employees are worthless and the back end streaming infrastructure and software are an obsolete horror show. Sony could fire everybody and move the datacenter and nobody would care.

Its a pretty good way to funnel money to people fighting for a cause you like without outing yourself in public.

You know what I just realized? We've seen this shit before. And no, not during the culture wars. We saw it during the earliest, most primal days of Kiwidom: from Chris. Whenever Chris would wind up in a completely unjustifiable position, such as his position on Asperger's syndrome or the homos, he'd declare himself close-minded on the subject and become completely recalcitrant, refusing to brook further discussion on the matter.

The difference, of course, is that Chris is a poorly-socialized Autist that has severe psychiatric problems, whereas the Anti-Vic crowd includes a number of people who have careers and logic dictates therefore should know better. Fucking surreal.

So apparently doesnt care DESPITE MAKING A GOFUNDME FOR THE MAN. But i guess we are still sticking to the scam angle? Id really like marzgirl to try (and horribly fail) to start a gofundme for legal fees to prepare those about to be fucked over

Oh christ the strike was the dumbest shit ever. People like Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, Jennifer Hale, etc spearheading it didn't help. VA's get paid more than minimum wage jobs. To strike for more money is just dumb.

It's why Ashly Burch voiced Chun Li in the ill-fated MVC Infinite game, among other things.

At least Assassin's Creed goes for people who are of the same descent as the protagonists. The newer ones anyway...

Not in one night of streaming, but if he keeps pulling in the money he made these past couple of nights, he'd be doing really well for himself.

My point here is that "Nick isn't making money" is actually the wrong argument to use. The correct argument is that Nick is earning some money by putting in quality work towards a cause they don't like.

That's what they're actually salty over. But they'll never admit it. They don't even comprehend basic economics. They're also willfully trying to conflate superchats with the GFM.

Was there anything wrong with Devon Bostick's performance as Ezio? I mean, ok. Abubakar Salim was also pretty fucking badass but still. A performance is a performance.
