Nah, I pretty much took all that into account in formulating that opinion, except point 2.

Regarding 2, assuming you mean the Metro article, the print story does not actually change the facts in evidence, nor does it add any meaningful context to the question of whether this is CP, only that someone cared enough to contact someone at a news outlet. The context surrounding the images is sketch as fuck and I'll willingly admit I don't know if any of the content we saw is CP as displayed. Nor do you, the feds, local LE, or anyone in this thread. I do know that it is at bare minimum grey area. Based on my reading of the law and my reading of past cases, I am making an educated guess that grey area we saw was not CP. Creepy and obvious advertisement for "wares" that probably are CP sure, but that's not quite the same thing, we certainly didn't see those "wares" and don't have evidence they saw those "wares" either.

Even assuming I am wrong in my guess and the content is CP, we won't know that until it's in front of the court, and it has to make it there first.

Again, my reasoning for all this being a huge nothingburger legally is not that in theory autistic law robots wouldn't be able to potentially construct a case based on these facts that could theoretically convict them, but that people working for federal and/or local law enforcement won't care enough to want to spend resources building an actual case against these speds based on the facts in evidence, which almost certainly isn't being helped by the way this is being reported to them. LE and judicial resources are not unlimited or cheap, so in my view the only chance anything comes of this if they did in fact disrupt a honeypot and it was the pet project of someone high up in the FBI, in which case I suspect the entire book including the grey area is headed their direction as they are effectively become Al Capone at that point.

I consider the chances of that actually being the case to be less than 1/10th of a percent, so I'm sticking with "it ain't happening".

Your analysis may well be correct in a vacuum. I'm not a lawyer.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that angle going anywhere though even if correct, I suspect you're going to run in to the same issue of getting law enforcement and prosecuting attorneys to want to do anything based solely on that though.

I think, even if they streamed without showing any pictures, they would need to explain themselves about how they'd found it about all of this in the first place. If they really wanted to help, they should've just contacted FBI and waited until they do something. But they wanted to get those sweet superberries.

Now, since I've seen a bunch of cross galaxy legal reaching going on I'll do some of my own for shits and giggles since I didn't see anyone mention this curveball: United States v Williams ( 2008 ). That case raises some interesting implications for Twoon et al. especially that also aren't happening but are fun to muse about. ;)

Having said that, each and every person that has been targeted has not had clean hands. It's impossible to have clean hands. Many of the people here and myself don't like either of them right now because they've been complete fucking morons who were warned by people here and in their own chat to stop, but they didn't listen. In fact I'd wager the overwhelming majority of people here feels this way, so I don't know why you felt you needed to go on a long ass screed that of all things had to bring Trump into the discussion.

Who's debating whether Andy's a pedo? What I've personally said is that Andy using his past abuse as a defense is retarded because people who were abused as children grow up to be pedophiles at a much higher rate. From what I've read, that's pretty much everyone else's take on the matter. I don't see anyone saying Andy and Ralph are actual pedos, just that they're morons who did everything in their power to come off as such.
