As far as checking for criminal charges, any google search will bring that up. You can check their local court house/jail websites to see if they have been arrested and if they have been, the court house will have a record of it where you can see the most basic of info for free. So keep an eye out for that over the next week or so. I feel if it's gonna happen it might take a little time.

In the jurisdiction where I live, cases where children are permanently removed are published online in supreme court records. They are all "anonymized" by initials, but the biographical details are often enough to make a connection.

@ibewwife1990 I can imagine you're feeling a lot of emotions right now. We're seriously lucky to have you.

About Michael not flying down: it's currently thundering and there's plenty of snow where we are. I'm about 20 minutes from the airport and there's no way he could have gone if he tried. Nicely done, CPS.

Edit: it's hailing

I wonder when the tugboat will get cut off. She's been able to get her way for years because she superficially looks posh. She can't get a decent job to support herself, everything she has now came from either her husbands or the government. She'll look like the unstable or useless mess she is once she loses everything and has to move back in with her parents, and then makes zero progress to recover, ever.

Just here to say I'm rapturous about the news and I wish both Jani and Bohdi the best of luck in their new more free lives. I still want Screech and Corey to be put on double the dosage of meds they had Bohdi and Jani on. These sick fucks don't deserve higher brain functions.

What the fuck. I go away for a day and the Schofield kids have been rescued from the harpie's talons. I am fucking elated.

Is it confirmed that the kids are detoxing off their meds? I see they're getting psych exams but with how many psychs having prescribed insane mind-melting drugs in the past, I'm still worried. Nevertheless, being away from those sick fucks can only be a good thing.

Echoing others who are thankful for @cuddle striker coming back to add info to this thread. Your comments have been very insightful and encouraging.

I picture her 10 years in t he future as some hot mess that looks back on this thread and says "I blame everyone else but me. It's not my fault-- it's everyone else's fault."

In the end, I cannot wait for the explosive breakdown.

It'll be a vicious cycle of her getting more crazy and screechy in public which will cause further isolation and even more crazy screeching. Plus with so much information about her being online would it even really be possible for her to get a sustainable job?

Maybe all this will finally teach the wretch to actually listen to people instead of constantly acting like whilst muttering "Uh huh. That is correct. You are right." No respect for anyone.

Maybe we'll get lucky and she'll start self-diagnosing herself into a zombified state.

These docs are evaluating the kids as they are, without Susan's MBP coloring things.

This information comes from my personal experience in dealing with CPS in California and having children taken away (not my children). Since the situation I am familiar with deals with an infant/toddler, this means some situations will change.

With the children being in the shelter, Susan still has the right to be notified of any and all doctor visits. However because Wednesday's emergency hearing has not been held, she will NOT be able to attend. This is the time when CPS gets all their ducks in a row.

CPS is currently contacting any and ALL close family members. This means Susan's mother, brother, and possibly even Cory's daughter will be contacted as potential guardians for the children. Even if there is no way in hell they can help out medically challenged children like Jani and Bodhi, they have to be contacted. CPS wants to keep children with family, yadda yadda yadda so they have to at least go through the motions here. Even if one of the family members did want to be awarded custody until everything was decided, they would have to be approved, have their house inspected, etc., etc.

If no family members want the position, then the default is for the children to be remanded to a foster home/shelter, which they are already at. Like others with more knowledge have said, this is probably where they are best going to be cared for.

On the off chance that family does step up, does get approved, etc., they will NOT be able to allow Susan and Cory around the children. PERIOD. Very bad things will happen if they do so.

At Wednesday's hearing, CPS will say which statutes of the family code have been broken. There will be initial brief testimony as to the evidence that was found. Susan will NOT testify. This is similar to the preliminary hearing in a regular court trial. Because of their financial situation, Susan will most likely be assigned a pro bono attorney specializing in family court matters. Michael will also be assigned his own attorney, but possibly not at this juncture since this case doesn't involve him just yet it seems insofar as the charges of breaking the family code.

The judge will decide if there was enough evidence to justify yanking the kids. There is NO WAY IN HELL he/she will decide otherwise because CPS has been on the case for far too long IMO. Determination as to where the kids will be and the appropriate care for them will be set as well. It is possible that the judge will also set visitation with Susan, but it is also equally possible that this will not happen. Visitation will only be allowed with a CPS worker present the ENTIRE TIME and will most likely only be for a few hours a week. Visitation will take place at a third, neutral location - the purpose is so that Susan will not know the children's location the rest of the time. Visitation may also not start occurring for a week or so. It depends on how backed up things are.

Then starts the real process which will take MONTHS. Susan will need to decide if she pleads guilty to whatever infraction of the family code took place. If she chooses to fight she may be determined to not be available to be reunified with the children at all. In that case, the children would either be placed with Michael or if he is determined to not be a good choice, then they will again go to the relatives first for guardianship, etc., etc.

Because Michael is in the picture and has said that he doesn't want to give up custody, he may be quickly determined to get custody. It all depends on how the charges are placed by CPS. Are they against Susan alone? Or is Michael named as well? And then we run into the question of real charges which would involve actual criminal charges and a trial, etc.

No matter what though, even if the court quickly determines that Michael should have custody, or if eventually they are given back to Susan, it will be MONTHS before something happens. The children will be evaluated, detoxed, and hopefully started on the appropriate therapy to attempt to get them back to some semblance of what they need to be. Susan will have MINIMAL contact with them throughout the process. Michael may be granted more. I do not know how phone calls work with these sorts of situations because when I dealt with things it was with an infant/toddler and they just don't require phone priveledges. Susan and possibly Michael will have to take classes depending on which charges were brought. The classes can be expensive and difficult to get scheduled for. If you don't complete them, your kids will be yanked permanently.

I will say this about the system. It is shitty. In family court you are guilty until you are proven innocent. I do not like that because it goes against everything I have been raised to believe about the court system. But in family court once you are dragged to the dock, be prepared to be in hell for months. You will have delays after delays. Hearings will be scheduled once a month if that. And then rescheduled time and again. Hours of waiting to be admitted to the courtroom. It's awful. But I wish all of that and more on Susan.

Insofar as child support. Michael will have to continue to pay it to Susan. HOWEVER, Susan may be required to pay it to the state in order to help support Jani and Bodhi. I sincerely hope this is ordered. It would be just awesome.

So much has happened since I last checked this thread! It is so wonderful that Jani and Bodhi are finally safe and hopefully we will get some news through the leaks next week. We can only hope that they start tapering off meds immediately, also Jani's meds. It must feel miraculous for that girl to wake up from a decade long coma. Hopefully she will be able to talk more clearly and start developing into a more capacitated young lady and loose some weight as well. I just am really really scared that Susan would get the kids back. What are the chances for that, no one probably knows.

I agree with ibewwife1990 that Cory will bolt soon as he realizes the situation. The marriage will soon be on the rocks.

I was curious about California's specific child removal laws, and hooooo boy, is Susan in for a fun ride.

So, as a federal rule, Child Services has to prioritize reunification over any other option for the children, meaning Child Services has to make a reasonable effort to help the parent become capable of regaining custody. Usually, this means they need to go to parenting classes, see a psychologist, stay off drugs, whatever. However, there are a few circumstances in which the court is allowed to seek permanent removal from the parent. In California, one such condition is mental disability.

If the court does decide to go this route, Susan would have to prove she is mentally stable, and she would have to pass the court's standards. She doesn't get to pick her doctors. The court gets to pick two professionals to evaluate her. Each professional will either be a psychiatrist, a neurologist, or a doctor of psychology with at least five years of doctoral practice.

Wouldn't it be magical if one of the court ordered specialists was Dr Sophy?

Really though? What would happen if he didn't send the next check? Would she have to go to court and say he is no longer paying? How exactly would that go over?
edit to clarify: not being sarcastic, just honestly wondering

It's a court order. You continue following a court order until it is superceded by something else. If Michael wants to keep his nose clean and his house in order to get full custody remanded to him he will continue following lawful orders of the court. If he doesn't it will mean that he is very foolish indeed and CPS could use it against him.

Just wanted to share a better link to the Dr. Phil episode. This youtube link appears to be much better quality than the video motion link. Despite the tarded anime crap sharing the screen.

Thanks for the link, was just going to try to find one. My heart has always gone out to these kids, and I'm glad they're being brought to a better place. I know they don't have any say in the matter, but I have mad respect for what they're about to go through. Coming off of any kind of brain altering medication isn't an easy feat for anyone , and I can't even imagine what they're about to have to go through coming off medical cocktails at such a young age. Thank you all for keeping the Farms up to date, and here's to hoping for a happy ending <3
